Triple at Snoqualmie, WA

I was making dinner, and my friend (a non skier) was watching the local news (we're in Seattle). He said to me "Hey, some guy just did a triple cork at Snoqualmie." I made sure that it was a skier, then asked whether they said his name was. He said 'Rory something'. (The volume was muted and he was reading subtitles) Any of you nsers heard anything on this?

he washed out, but did he still ride away? i would still count it if he rode away, even if it was sketchy

hahahahahhahahahahahaha. Wow. Kids should probably learn to SKI first before throwing triples.

On what the 25 foot jump?

props to rory if thats true...kids goin places.

but knowing snoqualmie though it couldnt have been that big of a jump...

it was dub cork 12 not triple haha but rory is still the man either way.

and to all of the other close minded fools who constantly shit on snoqualmies park you all can stay away from one of the sickest setups out with the quickest laps in the game if you would please. we will all gladly continue to feed off eachother and learn with out stevens snobs complaining about not being able to hit urban style rail takeoffs.

I bought a pass to Stevens to avoid the rain. The one time I have been to Snoqualmie to downhill ski was for Jib That. It rained. The rails got sticky. I got tossed and bruised my pelvis. I had trouble walking for several days. Never again.

yeah.. the chair is quick, and the laps are fast. Not sure how that correlates to kids throwing triples without learning to ski first. I'd like to see the kid throw a solid cork 5... Video, anyone?

You joined just to post that.

I say that because it's something you would have heard 10 years ago by old men trying to make themselves feel better, except it would have been in regards to a normal rail slide or 360. Is there no trick ceiling to the "learn how to ski for real" line? I mean you don't REALLY think someone who can do a double or triple can't ski? As if standing and leaning side to side is a more incredible feat.

Dub cork 12 super dope and jumps more like 40 45 but nice and pooppy^ to ignorant kid above

Being able to throw trampoline ballerina spins then land backseat and wash-out doesn't mean that you can ski. Not saying that's what happened... just saying that hucking a large spin doesn't mean you can ski. And there is more to skiing than standing and leaning from side to side, just as there is more to driving than mashing pedals and moving your hands side to side.

he also raced for years, i remember going to summer camp with him quite a few years ago, so yes he can actually ski

Now fucktown maybe you're just looking for an argument using semantics or some BS about absolutes, but cmon' it's just stupid to assume someone doing tricks on skis can't ski. Because honestly I've never seen a 1st timer do anything remotely impressive on purpose, or someone who is good at skiing park not be able to make turns.

I am confused why this is in ski gabber, and not regional.

Also static is being a dumb cunt, like usual. And having seen a lot of those kids 'ski' I agree with j.bird.

Aaaannnd. I was right.

Thanks! And to whoever said I just joined to hate... I have been her longer than some of you combined. I have watched you guys ski over the last 3 years, and you guys look like you have a lot of fun.

But to put ti plainly, " As if standing and leaning side to side is a more incredible feat" shows exactly how little you know about what SKIING really is. It has nothing to do with how many whackflips you can do in the air.

When would you just realize that freeskiing is a sport and a hobby that some start at different points in their lives, some are trained how to "really" ski and others just learn as they go by themselves, not giving a shit what is or isn't correct edge control or a proper turn?

I remember seeing a video like 5 years ago right when I joined this site of some pro rollerbladers skiing for the first time and killing the mammoth park. So yes you can ski once and do tricks.
