Troll just had their preseason rail jam, so I guess the season kinda started. So welcome to the official daily throwdown for the 18/19 season. What did you all throw down? Give us some stories, adventures, park reports, or anything else (this is regionals so nothing has to be relevant). But yeah, post away anything goes.

I'll start, I didn't go skiing at troll because biking but I jumped a sick 360 inside my house.

Trollhaugen Openhaugen was amazing! Good friends, fun set up, great times! Lines were long but it’s always worth it after 6 months without snow

you best be coming to the spirit jam on the 27th hun

Moving sucks. I'm moving too .

Giants ridge has their rail jam at 12pm. Im going to try to make it to both GR and Spirits to check out the ski swaps and watch the rail jams.

Giants jam was cold and icy at the start but it eventually got warm enough towards the end. Jack went off though.

I was there a whole 5 minutes at the beginning to look around at the ski swap. I had a 9 hour drive ahead of me so I didn't feel like staying with that that wind and cold

Wild mountain opening day was Sunday. Dude_Wonder set up a fun park with a big ole tube. Hopefully they can stay open and pile on the snow

Not for us northerners... you dam citiots and your early opening ski hills!

It's sad too because spit could totally blow snow on the rope and open it Uber early but they just don't care enough to.

It isn't that Spirit doesn't care about opening it up. The snowcross event that they hold brings in too much money for them to miss out on. They just have to prioritize

Daaaaaaamn haven't been on newschoolers in a minute. I might try to go out on Sunday but now the debate is between wild and troll...

I'm going to wild, the hype on troll is dead to me. Sure they've got great rails but wild sets a great park overall.

Ive figured out why hyland is an ice rink, they dont till their snow whatsoever, they just kind of carve their piles out, so its the most painful thing to land on.

Also i bought some on3p magnus 102's and i love them, i did a switch lip to 50, 50 hand drag to switch off a tube at buck hill today and its never felt so stable in my life.

We’re you the guy that I talked to on Saturday who used to live in japan?

Spirit's opening day was pretty sweet, decent park setup with soft snow. Kids were flipping the jump they put in to, no clue how. Big bertha was setup like a cannon off a knuckle and ended up going for broke and hucking a blind swap to front 6 but failed to land it. Later was doing some tokyo drifts on to the up-flat that was set up without a lip and my back ski got caught up in the snow which forced my shin straight into the rail. Gonna be off skis for a little bit...

I think I saw you there today for a bit, I’m the kid with the on3p’s and the neon green look pivs

I ate a lot of shit my first day out at buck hill saturday, I can barely walk, maybe I shouldn't have gone so hard on that 4 foot jump haha.

The weekend consisted of hitting Troll on Friday, Elm on Saturday, and Wild on Sunday.

All 3 parks are in prime condition! Elm's flat-down tube is made for learning new tricks.. was able to get all 4 threes swaps to highlight the weekend!

It's probably just my bum leg and lack of snow in Duluth but I'm absolutely hating this season so far. The stoke I got 3 years ago over skiing has diminished to about 10%. Also last weekend at spirit there were 20-30 mph uphill winds, wasn't even worth riding. Fuck my leg and Duluth weather. Hate to be a bitch, but my season is starting shitty.

Winter break... lets shred and get you stoked on skiing again!

ive dropped like 30 lbs since september and i cant wait to get back to tow ropes try hard and relearn all my lost tricks since i got fat.

You boys should sauce over to hyland some day this break, now that big park is up and running

Find me there most Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 for my after work shredding! Can confirm big park is up with pencil in a prime location, a decent table jump, and 2 step downs (super and mini)

I heard rumors of a 1000 cash prize Rockstar rail jam happening dec 22 at whitecap... If anyone could confirm if that is accurate or not that would be sick

Chester Bowl opened up in Duluth and beat Spirit Mountain to weekday skiing (last night). Down tube, flat box, handrail, and their brand new dfd are up. Was testing out the flex of the nomads and did a peyben style nosebutter 7, very hyped on that.

Spirit is resetting their park for Wednesday which is awesome because the original set wasn't that great. I'm still having some damn knee problems... but I can't complain too much because James was skiing at Chester with no ACL.

Happy to hear they're resetting the park, the landing off the tube and that cannon were kinda gnarly.

Is Chester bowl worth checking out this week?

Chester is always worth checking out, it's never amazing but always a good time.

And Spirit just posted pics on IG of the new setup for tomorrow. In all honestly I'll miss the old set quite a bit.

Checked out the new jumps at wild. Can confirm it’s the best jump I’ve hit in a long time. Perfect for learning. Felt confident trying all my old tricks and even managed to accidentally learn switch rodeo 7s. Thank you Matt Wunderlich

Is it surprising Wunderlich makes a wonderful jump? On a different note though I’ve been trying to get my Park game back up while I’m back in MN for break and have already gotten a damn K fed and a front 4 which is wild since I suck at spinning right, I’ve gotten most of my tricks back plus a few and it feels good considering I haven’t been skiing as much park since moving to Montana.

Driving myself crazy at work today. Super slow since most people took the whole week off, so I've been checking the forecast like every half hour tracking this inclomg storm. Dakota's are currently getting pounded and looking like NW MN will get hit pretty hard too. Hard to tell yet what the twin cities are going to get (rain/snow), and will have to wait until later on to see what Duluth gets.

Praying for at least enough to be able to hit some easy Urban spots or enough to cover up the hard pack we currently have at spirit.

Afton? Went a couple times last week and their park was super sick! Def will be making more trips throughout the season

Actually? I thought it sucked, wonky jumps, mooncraters, the top rails were sticky. Might have been an off day, but i don’t doubt it will get better after they get the full park up.
