So yesterday, I was messing around, just throwing some frontflips at Park City. I was stomping most of them, so I varied them up a little and started doing some slow ones. After a few slow ones, I did another, but kinda messed up when I was hucking it. I landed very backseat, and instantly felt the shinbang. This shinbang was easily the worst I have ever had. So i took off my skis and hobbled to the side of the slope. One of my buddies helped me down and I was in a ton of pain. I got back home and it was very swollen and killed, so I went to the hospital. Turns out I have a fractured tibia (shin bone) from all the pressure of landing backseat. I was not using any boots made for freestyle. Is this normal that I fractured my tibia from a backseat landing? And anything I should do next year (ski season is over for me this year) to prevent fracturing anything from backseat landings? I am definitely due for some new boots, but just looking for any advice.
