The drop in is basically the same. Also, I would like to point out the burliest thing about the London setup. If one of those guys fell on the drop in, there is nothing stopping them from falling 100+ feet onto pavement. No netting, no boards, no pads; nothing.

I've seen plenty of flatter landings. I guess on the plus side I've never seen hay bails on the run out.
