What are some things you haven't seen at the hill in a few years?

I can't remember the last time I saw someone in the terrain park with those bent racing poles.

The bandana out the back pocket has been absent for years.

That's funny, I saw both these things at my local park last time I skied...

Austria.

...

i remember when all the freeskiers at the mountain could share a gondola up.

now all i see are skitttles everywhere. as far as the eye can see.

I had a pair of those orange Smith poles with the bend in them back in the day. They were awesome because half the people in 'Ski Movie' used them.

I tried once when I hadn't switched some of my cd's to itunes yet, I can see why no one does. Every time you hit a bump the disk would skip. got a little annoying later in the day.

pretty sure Im just stuck in the past. i do all these things besides the bandana cause i dont got aids. But the oakley one piece that peter olenick use to wear.

TRAINS. When I first moved to PC 8 seasons ago, I was mesmerized by all the trains and I stood on the knuckle gaping rather hard. Bring em back!!

I actually saw him at a ski hill about a year and a half ago. Much more recent than say the... giro bad lieutenant helmet.

The Oakley puffy pant has had a lot of staying power. A friend of mine used a pair for years, but it's been a while now since I've seen a pair around. I still use a pair of Oakley 2x6 pant from 2002 from time to time.

I can't distinctly remember seeing an overflip (down hill underflip, a variation on a misty 5) in a long time. But, I have to give it up for skiing (mostly the scandos) for bringing back a lot of old tricks and spin axis.

i remember seeing every pro, every mom, and every pro's mom doing cab 10's in all the comps.

man, that trick was fire for like, what, 3-4 years? now kids dont even think its cool unless its at least corked twice with a double nutsack pole plant.

Yeah i miss the straight spin days, saw a massive stomped 12 in NZ this last summer and really made me wonder why everyone deems in necessary to cork everything.

Oakley goggle case tied to the belt loop, never put your goggles in there, it would get soaked and dirty. But everyone knows you got oakleys for days when you had that tied to your loop

Also skittle colored goggles. Now it's all about murked

Double tails! not one hand on each ski but grabbing the same ski with both hands! that grab is fucking epic, no one does it nowadays

When I was young I used to see racers do 360s on pretty decent size park jumps, haven't seen that in a while

I think people only did this when hiking, i still do.

Except a lot of snowboarders around here starting doing it this year
