Things You Haven't Seen In A While

I'm not Chris. I'm Dan.

I think that second Aeryx picture is Ashley Battersby. I have no idea why, I can barely remember Aeryx.

What about flat up flat rails or boxes? I don't think they're completely gone, but no one seems to set them up that way anymore.

Can we bring back the use of "toxic" grabs? Please?

The last time I saw a legit spread eagle train was when Plake came through 3 years ago as part of a resort tour thing. We had about 15-20 guys go through our jumpline with him in the lead. Actually got him to slide a rail that day too.

O man, I totally forgot about blenders! Shit man.

Also, I haven't seen helly Hansen around in a while. Used to have the survival suit, all their shit was soooo good, then they turned their team on its head. Kinda like what salamon is doing

Might be one of the most underrated things. You see a lot of people with no fear just straight lining over moguls but that requires no skill. One of my best friends grew up in qc/vt and can shred moguls like nothing i have ever seen. Always gets lots of hollers when he skis near the chair.

Dash Longe is in TGR movies every year. He closed out The Dream Factory with a real sick AK segment where he was tricking off of everything.

so this is something ive never seen before. so i was looking through a new park setup just scoping things out and looking at everything, so me and my friend were looking at a large jump that was just setup, we were like hmm i wonder how much speed you need to clear it? then i look back and theres an old man who heard what i said and he was just chuckling to himself. so we go down and look at how big the gap is. and out of nowhere the old gaper man hits the jump and lands in the thug zone! the jump was a 50 foot step down or something like that. it was big. i thought it was pretty funny and unusual.

^ how is that relevant?

I'd like to add switch right 10's and the chrome spikes in A Frame lens vents.

Airblaster Leg purse things that every single boarder in the universe used to wear.

Also, the suspenders just hanging down off your pants instead of on your shoulders.

Sonce mike nick hasnt been around, no one has been able to do the correct way. That said bring back lui kangs for world peace.

read the entire thread and was almost sure nobody would mention this, glad somebody understands the power of the kang

LIU KANGS FOR WORLD PEACE

Venus flytraps (although only Toben Sutherland ever did them that I know of), mctwists in the pipe (though again only Ostness really did them that I saw), huntony's as previously mentioned, true Vincent Dorian style underflips (and Vincent Dorian in general, he was always one of my favourite riders back in the day), huge switch backflips (you see them sometimes but not enough in my approximation), even though he doesn't stick it Sherpa's bc switch backflip attempt in Photoplay is still one of the sickest things I've ever seen.

Studded belts.

I'm thankful that they're so 2001 but as late as in 2009 I skied with a Swedish chick who wore one.

There are actually threads on this site from 2003 where folks are discussing their belts.

”i have a two row pyramid”

and my favorite:

”i call mine the jon olsson belt cuz he wears it and i only use it for skiing(too big for regular pants)”

And around 2010 Lemmy of Motörhead and Head started some kind of collaboration after he had seen the ski company's studded skistraps.

Weird.

Valid point sir. They certainly are few, and far between. Its most likely linked to the failing american education system. The U.S. school system still bears the imprint of its origins. Created in the era of the assembly line, it was never intended to push all its students to engage in the kind of complex learning and critical thinking that the twenty-first-century U.S. economy demands. In the intervening years, the country has layered more rules and higher expectations on top of that initial structure, but it has not fundamentally remade teaching into a modern profession. To do so will not be easy; it will require political will and significant changes to long-standing institutions. But it is time to start anew and to build the school system that might actually yield the results that the country seeks and that its students deserve.

What I can say is that i would throw sw right 10's if i could, because that's my natural spinning direction switch. I just can't throw that trick lol
