i fully agree with you. Opening your mind means looking at both sides, but most people who believe the conspiracy seem to think it means "don't listen to the government because they are always wrong"
What a lot of people tend to not realize is this simple fact...no building is built to withstand a fully fueled passenger aircraft flying directly into it going at almost maximum speed. And i know one of the big things is that the fuel didn't burn hot enough to effectively go through the steel etc, but again, most theorists leave out the fact that in these buildings, the steel doesn't have to be completely gone. All that has to be done is warping. The metal gets warped, the weight of the upper floors is now pushing directly down on ineffective steel, and so it bends more, eventually leading to a collapse, straight down.
I don't doubt that the US government is doing stuff behind our backs, i just don't think it would be anything like this. What would be the point? To attack iraq? All they needed to/did say was that iraq had weapons of mass destruction, people didn't believe them, but they still went in anyways. At what point does attacking the life center of our very own military as well as other buildings come into play? If they wanted to go to war, they were going to go to war.
And i still stand by this simple statement: if it was a conspiracy, why is anyone who perpetuates the rumour that the government did it, still alive? If They killed almost 3,000 people for no reason, why wouldn't they kill a few more?
