The Stoked Thread

okay, well here's our old mini fridge, which was pretty good to us. Runs nicely, and being a larger mini fridge, could easily hold 90 beers in it, which we tested on a regular basis by buying 3 30 racks.

But we decided that mini was lonely, and needed a big brother. And on a whim at the good old Home Depot, we found it a friend.

my roommates just went to get a keg, we should be operational in approximately 20 minutes

thats fucking cool, did you guys make it or was it prefab?

I was thinking of a home made one where you run the tubing through a chillybin filled with ice

it was prefab. we found it at home depot.

we initially were going to make our own, and have assisted making 2 other kegerators, but they are really expensive to make well. We found this for cheaper than we could have made one, so we decided to get it. And we figured it would probably be more reliable.

So it is kind of cool to make your own, but getting all the parts is kind of pricey

Some random sent me this message:

Looks like NS is getting spammed now. We're that big!

I'm in Bozeman, and will be skiing here for the next couple of days. Had a terrific day at Showdown, which is this little backwater area with a fun vibe and tons of tree bonks.

Life is good.

Played some intense dodgeball action tonight! Played a pick up game against the cities reigning champs a bunch of Asians. I'm thinking of joining there league. Theres a open tournament at the end of Feb. It was pretty ridiculous actually I'm talking people wearing knee pads, sweatbands, cute Asians in booty shorts, and the never overplayed fat white-guy with an afro in an adidas tracksuit. It was hella fun!

Ok, this is the first place I'm posting this; it's a big stoke.

I've officially got a job. Starting next week I'll be the new Production Manager for Meathead Films and be heavily involved in the Ski The East brand.
YEP!!!!
Now all I need to do is find a roommate...(adam)....

Awesome!

Although I didn't enjoy HFTH as much as their previous work, Meatheads and Ski The East rock!

What didn't you like exactly? Constructive criticism goes a long way and now I'm in a position to hear it and make suggestions towards making the films better.

(deep sigh of relief) Anyone want to call dibs on my first batch of business cards?

The skiing was downright awesome, don't get me wrong there. But the feel of the movie was lost. The previous Meathead films had a specific feeling. It was missing this year. I also thought that the music overall was not all that great.

I actually liked the commentary inbetween segments in prior years.

Thanks dude. I'll be sure to let Geoff and Rooster what's up. That's some straight up constructive criticism. Again, thanks.

In other news, I've been updating MikeRogge.com.
Thanks to all of you that have been visiting the site. Stoked!

dibs!

haha, sick. that's such a dope gig, and I've always liked meathead. See you at heat harvest this year maybe? I need to meet more PH'ers.

Hello PH!

just a little stoke update, yet again, i haven't been on in a while. Too much going on to dilly dally with the interwebs too much.

stoke 1, i actually enjoy my classes this semester! HELL YES! fuck engineering, hello MBA with a concentration in marketing.

stoke 2, I"M DRUNK! finally got my hands on a fifth of jeager and i'm feelin mighty good.

stoke 3, i'm going to ski some freshies tomorrow, hopefully find some good drops up in the northern regions of MI, i know it may sound odd, but Mt. Bohemia is suprisingly legit for the midwest.

so rock on ph, i'll hopefully have another update tomorrow.

peace out kids.

ways im not allowed to ask:

- free facebook gift

- change her last name to mine on safeway account and wait until the checker tells her "thanks miss _______"

well the kegerator works. and so did the 6 handles of alcohol we had. fuck. first time I ever puked from drinking. now I'm hungover as fuck and some girl just called and woke me up and asked if I want to go skiing. and since I'm not one to ever turn down skiing, or girls for that matter, I'm going. Not to toot my own horn, but I feel like a trooper right now

2nd that. Wanderland, Ski Movie II, Cold Fusion, in that order, for me.

Steve and I were talking about HFTH vs Wanderland awhile ago, I pretty much agree.... the skiing in both is sick, but Wanderland has a certain vibe that just is missing from HFTH....

its been 50 and sunny and hasn't snow in a couple weeks.

but luckily some areas have been marked "closed" to keep the general population out of dangerous areas. and those areas still have fresh snow deposits. i love patrol secret stash.

haha. I guess you're right! I hadn't thought of that.

Shane's doing a killer job at Mount Snow and I'm stoked to be working with Meathead Films.

Just got VIP tickets to X-games! I might have to sleep in my car since [affordable] lodging around Aspen is completely full next weekend, but I'm stoked anyway.

I'm stoked on trams, shredding super tight and flat trees on park skis, hitting jumps with my friends, and playing on rails while sleeping on a couch and skiing for free courtesy of the weird and confusing ticket policies of Boyne.

Life is good.

I'm stoked on the snow my local Mt has been holding. I don't know the last time it snowed but they have a steep double D that's been closed all season, it's over grown and would need a ton of snow to open, but when it's not filled in it has multiple drops and pillow lines. Went today and it was still holding knee deep and dry powder. It's been a weird season I've never skied this kind of snow at my local. Did the run in only a few turns today I would have liked to have watched my run from the bottom. Ripped it pretty hard. They had a fun tractor tire bonk set up which you could springboard off of, and a small but flowy tabletop.

[end claim]

but seriously being stuck in Ottawa for almost 3 years it makes you appreciate the good days.

super sick weekend minus the absolute lack of snow..

Saturday was 16 C at the peak! It was sooo hot it.. it was absurd.. crazy inversion weather... Skied soo much park, only run I did today. word.

Craig I have no intention of opening Tommy's Pic this season to anyone but myself and friends until we have thoroughly tracked it out.

Stoked on a tour hunting mission which resulted in finding a fun 300ft wide (though only 400ft tall) little bowl full of sugar on crust that we boot lapped for a few hours. Ton of fun with the crew and let the girls get a feel for being on AT gear.

Stoked on a fun day at tremblant on the new Bibby's. These skis are ridiculously fun to through around in the snow and trees and turn everything into fun jibs. Pretty entertaining hearing whispers all around you in the lift line and fielding questions about why the hell you would want something so fat. Managed to find for knee deep and face shots in the trees long after the latest storm.

All around good weekend!

Not a whole lot turned out. Flat light and smooth snow covered terrain make for very little definition and not much to look at. Will prob toss a few up later anyways tho

yep. needs sunny sunny conditions for it to look reasonable. i got to play with mine for the first time last weekend. snow was good in shade, but no footy turned out. snow was thick and heavy in sun, but footy turned out good.

i'd post it and some pictures of recent trips but the picture/video buttons don't work on the fancy text editor reply box.

and i finally got black diamond pro account, but theyre out of avalungs in my size. gotta learn to hold my breath longer. bollocks.

Well, I went into UCSC thinking I could be the next Mike Rowe, doing Film and Digital Media and Marine Bio together. Once I got here I nixed film to focus on Bio, and out of nowhere with this e-seal work, I could be on my way to making some short documentary style stuff.

You guys should all go to facebook and be friends with Stelephant Colbert and Jon Sealwart. The names aren't my creation, but we've named two seals after the hosts and we think there may be a shot to get on the Report at least. I wrote the "about me"s for the both of them. I dunno, I had always wanted to see if I could ever be a comedy writer for TDS or TCR, and this is the closest I'll ever be, so I'm having fun with it.

Check them out if you're down for some geeky ass elephant sealness.
