The Stoked Thread

i have a question with that, which shots do you think i used a tripod on? obviously the breck rails were tripod, and follow cams were not, but of the others can you even tell? ...basically my tripod only moves smoothly horizontally, the verticle movement is too tight when fully loosened and gets jerky.

OK, change my comment from "maybe use a tripod" to "try and get a better tripod". Not many at all looked like a tripod had been used. iId say play more with your zooms to smooth em out. I've read that it's been pretty cold in Colorado lately. I'm guessing fingers that feel like they're about to fall off is an issue too. That always drove me nuts when taking pictures.

haha, it is now, it wasnt bad then other than the triple line, which is the most recent, though it doesnt really bother me. the shots from the above view and deck have no tripod, and the shots are mixed from the side view. all the ones where it has jerks in the motion are tripod (you can see it on the last shot of the triple line). im looking into new tripods now actually.

yeah... stoked on little seanyJ making the cut.. amazing to watch these kids grow up an into making something out of their skiing

haha, spong did more unnatural tricks than natural, we've been giving him crap for such a weak run (every trick he did he lands more than 90% of the time).

Snowing heavily outside. Too bad it only dropped 3" last night and the snow is only dropping for another few hours.

Oh well, this will be a good snowfall to get some base back in the trees after the one day spring.

Just finished my last exam, and i feel like i stomped the shit out of it.

and, i'm about to go sell some books and sign the lease for my first apartment and then DRIVE THE FUCK HOME!

and tomorrow, shred some good ass snow. (for the midwest at least.)

Snow wasn't all that deep, so I've taken my time getting ready, and I'm heading out the door now. Stoked for skiing!

Stoked on booking a trip to stowe with the GF in late jan. also hitting up burlington for a martin sexton show. Small private cabin for a few days should be nice.

Comrades! Let the victorious banner of Lenin fly over our motherland!

Long live our glorious motherland, her freedom and her

independence!

Under the banner of Lenin-onward to victory!

The Sunday night storm for the Northeast just keeps looking better and better. It's looking like super blower powder too as it is going to be about zero degrees.

I love my FUCKING LIFE! Holy shit, Tahoe has been amazing so far. I got up here and there was absolutely no snow... but we just got dumped on... 55 inches in the last 5 days and it's not stopping, suppose to keep snowing through xmas. Had an epic day of powder riding yesterday... so sore now, and loving every minute of it. AHHHHHHH soososososoosososososo Stoked!

East Coast people, tune your cars and pack your bags. Shits about to go OFF this weekend up here in VT.

Monday WILL be epic. I assure that you will not want to miss it at any cost.

What's the PH plan, anybody want to meet up and shred? I think I'm going to drive wherever it hits hardest.......

Another Jay trip is a total possibility if the weather swings north.....

^ I'll be at Jay tonight til the 27th. Half price or $40 lift tickets. Anyone who wants can come on up. Bring a sleeping bag and towel just in case. I'm off to shred the gnar.

I'm sticking with where I can ski for free Monday unless the snow is substantially deeper up at Jay, but it will have to be SUBSTANTIALLY deeper for me to warrant the gas, drive time and price of a lift ticket.

I can do 2 tickets at $29 each at Killy on Monday for anyone who wants to rip there.

I just realized how much smoother NS runs now that I have the FireFox Adblocker pwning all the ridiculous animated ads on here.

My computer apperently runs THAT slow...sad...

Well if the snow's that good up north and you're willing to ride in the Su-death-aru we can totally make a shred trip.

I'll have to see if my shred-bro from home is working or not this weekend, but there are multiple possibilities for this weekend.

(and definate thanks to Adam, I just might take you up on that!)

I'm talking like 8+ inches more than K would need to occur to have me heading north. It's a solid 3 hour drive from here not factoring in the shitty roads from a storm.

It'd have to be substantial for it to make me skip the 25 minute drive with no cost still great skiing to drive 3+ hours and pay for skiing.

We shall see how this storm pans out.

There are several points which I have to lay out to get the full enjoyment out of this story.
So I've been living in Ontario for the last 2 3/4 years driving with a BC License which your suppose to switch after 90 days of living in a different province.
Lately I've really been thinking to myself I need to get it changed, especially since some of the numbers on the sin tag appeared shall we say a little scratched out, and I look like a criminal in my drivers photo. (looks like a bad mug shot)
Last night I was doing donuts in the back of a church parking lot after my A.A meeting minding my own business when out of nowhere a cop cruiser rolls up and I'm like "Oh shit I'm fucked!"
Now the program I've been taking a recent change was made with the regulatory college of the profession that if you have a criminal record you can't write your RMT Exams.
Was the conversation with the officer.
O- May i see your license and registration?
C- Yes, one minute officer (While I'm fiddling through my wallet)
O- What do you think you were doing?
C- Practising my winter driving officer, No power steering, rear-wheel, standard truck sir
O- Where are you coming from?
C- This A.A meeting sir, (and i produce my 1 year medallion)
O- I need to see your license and registration not your coin. Have you been drinking?
C- Not in two years sir (I finally produce my licence with registration)
O- This is a BC license
C- Yes, sir
O- Is it valid?
C- In BC sir
O- How long have you been in Ontario?
C- Just over two years sir
O- Where do you work?
C- I'm a full time student sir graduate in two months
O- Who's truck is this?
C- My brothers
O- Does he know your driving it?
C- Yes, sir
O- Are you aware you should have switched your licence back to an Ontario licence within 90 days of moving?
C- I am acutely aware of that officer
O- I'm going to check you out on the computer, If this licence is suspended in BC or you have any outstanding charges I'll be placing you under arrest.
C- yes, officer (Drum roll while waiting mean time people coming out of the AA meeting are looking over at me as another squad car rolls up lights on)
O- (Cop comes back to my car) Okay, I want you to go down to the licence burrow tomorrow and get things changed to an Ontario licence
C- Yes, Officer, Funny story I was actually planning on going tomorrow morning, You may or may not believe that. (I produce another piece of paper with the licence burrows address, and told him that i tried going to the one down the hill in Orleans, but you have to go to the regional one at Canotek rd)
O- One last thing. Are you wearing contact lens? It's a condition on your licence.
C- Yes officer
O- Don't let me catch you doing donuts in a parking lot full of cars again, consider this a Christmas present, have a nice night.

I was amazed I got out of that situation. I now have an Ontario licence.

Today is my last full day of work. Christmas party tomorrow at noon, and I'm DONE. Moving to Tahoe City in 8 days. Not sure "Stoked" is a strong enough word to explain how fucking psyched I am. I've never, ever, had the chance to ski every day for more than 2 weeks. This winter, I can ski every day, all winter. Best part is it appears as if I am going to be the luckiest person alive and fall into a Park Staff position (IE paid to ride 30-40 hours a week) my first year working at a mountain. And my roomate/best frien already bought his snowmobile. I need to find a cheap one as well now.

You really don't want a VT license? Being local gets you reduced tickets/warnings w/cops (ask Amanda), discount tickets @ jay, and less hate from woodchucks and rednecks when you put your car in a ditch.

I don't think Jay's gonna get +8 more than Kmart in this one storm. I'm more concerned with the wintery mix on NOAA maps throughout New England.
