The Stoked Thread

WOO! looking forward to it

im stoked because im heading to ottawa on friday for a visit for 10 days yaaay. im excited to get the F out of whis. i need to get out of here for a while. its driving me coo coo. i feel like im trapped in a bubble.

Key word "for a bit". You'd be losing it too if you lived there for too long. I know exactly what she's talking about, it's like living in disneyland with marginally more STDs. I'm never, ever moving there. Though having a place to sleep there for weekends would be nice if I ever get mad wealthy.

Stoked on a new old truck. Picked up an 89 4runner this weekend with just a shade over 265000 miles on it. Pretty clean for how old it is. Gotta have it looked over at the mechanic to see how bad some of the stuff is but all in all it looks pretty good.

3 weeks left of working in engineering for a BioTech company building a big cancer cell plant in Singapore (no, I don't get to travel, otherwise it would be a lot cooler). I'm over this job thing for now, working for people other than myself sitting in front of a computer all day... not my cup of Tea. SO, packing up and moving to Tahoe for the forseeable future. The two friends I'll be living with and I have started playing with ideas for starting our own renewables based copmany and are all damn excited to see if we can pull it off (no shit the economy is in shambles...). Besides that, just going to work at Alpine Meadows in some form, ski, ski, and oh ya, ski some more. Got a hookup with a nice sled from a friend of a friend that's waiting in Tahoe for us... holy god this winter is going to be the shit.

Peace out rat race, hello heaven!

Might be shaving my head Thursday.

A student group I am a part of is doing a fund raiser for the Free Care Fund at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital here in Tacoma called Save It or Shave It. Basically, I am walking around until then with two Nalgenes, one labeled Save and the other Shave, and whichever one gets the most donations in the course I will follow.

Stoked to be making a difference.

long time no see.

sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

speaking of tea, since I have realized that I'm not really pro at any sport right now, I have decided to take up "eXXXtreme tea drinking"

it's gonna be wild

oh and this came about because we were really bored, and saw extreme ironing, and thought that we should take another lame activity, and make it extreme, like the 90s

well done man. Feels good to do something like that for a good cause. When I got mine done in the spring for the breast cancer fundraiser it was "My Hair for Her Pair"

Such a great slogan hahaha. And it does makes you feel incredible. When they chopped my ponytail off for Locks of Love...a warm feeling came over me =)

I didnt cut anything off but I did deliver turkey dinners to families on thursday. I was so tempted to take one for myself. mmmmmm

I saw one of those Pink Ribbon bumper stickers that said "Save the Ta-Tas". I liked that one, although since seeing Superbad awhile back I much prefer the term "Warlocks" to "ta-tas"

so, yesterday i started off by going to the sportsbook at the Palazzo and winning about $200 off the Giants game and Ravens game... stoked. got a bunch of free drink tickets and got plastered before noon... stoked. spend the early afternoon on the Strip, bought some weed, smoked a blunt on the phone with Sdot... stoked.
then... then things got really fun.
on my way home from the Strip i noticed a cute girl in the car to my right, but we're doing 50ish, so i couldn't really capitalize on it... so i thought. well, she caught me checking her out and smiled back at me and rolled down her window and i rolled my passenger windown down. she shouted at me that she wanted my number, so when we got to the next stop light i gave her my number and she called me a couple minutes later. we ended up meeting up for drinks and just hanging out, but it was a good time and she's a really cute/cool chick. i'm not looking for any kind of relationship right meow, but after two months of relative isolation with the occassional random fuck (have a story from Friday about that, btw... Green Door ftw!), it was fun to take a cute and pretty cool girl out for a couple drinks. we talked about going to Body English later this week/weekend, so that ought to be fun. oh yeah, she's scene. hell yes.
now i'm UBER stoked that Les found her phone and can finally return me 7 or 8 calls from this past weekend. ;P

Thanks.

It should be cool. I think if I grow it out a couple more inches, I could get it to be Locks of Love length.

I went looking for a tape measure, and found a hacksaw blade. Funny.

My sister has set the bar high for that, she drinks about a gallon of $60 a box Korean tea every day.

Stoked that I printed half my photo final today and it's super sick so far. The images turned out exactly the way I had envisioned, now I just need to find a few more "models," develop and print those, then mount everything!

More stoke: my mind games may be paying off tomorrow night. I might give an update soon thereafter, because this is either going to be a massive victory or a crushing defeat for my occasionaly inflated ego.

I'm stoked. This working 40 hours a week is CAKE compared to working 20-30 hours and fulltime classes.

Finally purchased some legit pow skis, Amplid Cholesterone RC's for a sick deal. Just waiting on the pow so I can shred!

this isn't so much quantity tea drinking, so much as trying to drink tea out of a tea cup while sitting in the back of a tacoma driving quickly down hyalite canyon road

i love being right, and because of it, when i finally got my part i ordered, my computer works like a charm now despite the urging of technical support that it was something different wrong and needed to be sent in.

I'm casually getting ready to go to the mountain today, rip til 2, then clean up and start my shift.

Take out the work potion and it'd be a killer day.

Tons of snow. Its been real solid.

We got 2 feet during last week, and this week we got 5 inches, but then it turned to freezing rain. It didn't kill the snowpack at all, and likely will help in opening terrain in some areas and give a nice solid base in the trees.

The snowbanks on the side of the road are building up real nicely.

Raised over $60 bucks in Save It Or Shave It yesterday. It's amazing what small change and open hearts can do, and these are the moments when I am reminded that there is some good in the universe.

got ANOTHER job interview at the Venetian... for a job i didn't even apply for. what i keep getting told and what actually ends up happening are two different things, so i'm kinda confused about this whole process by now, but i suppose this is a good sign. of course, maybe if their stock wasn't trading around $4.30- about $150 less than it was a year ago- then things would have happened sooner, but i'm just gonna keep trying until i get my foot in the door there. just stoked i get to go give it another try.

The documentary is finished!
(phhhew)

After 3 and 1/2 months of working on this project, I'm happy to announce its motha fuckin completion!

I'm uploading it to the NS ftp in about 20 minutes and then it'll be available to you fine folks tomorrow or Thursday.
Thank you for all your input and criticism after I releases the tour video. I hope you enjoy the film!

Got a Canon 30D today! So pumped! I have to wait until Christmas to use it, but still. I have lot of reading to do until then, but can't wait to get out there and start taking photos. Hopefully this will mean sweet-ass TRs soonish.

You'll be able to get some NICE photos with the setup you got! Now just wait until you start drooling over L glass...then it gets expensive.

ugh, haha.

I have a 28-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8 no IS, I'm shopping for a 16-35 2.8, and I'd love a 35 1.4 but I can't justify it......

good thing I'm single, I can't afford a girlfriend.

phew cause i was bugging out...i didnt know what to do with myself.

so then i did some work ;P

interview was awesome! my application has been sent over to the head of the guest services department... our host's buddy who i already interviewed with and who, i'm told, wants to hire me. shit will probably take another week or so, which kinda sucks, but i'm fucking STOKED. went on a burn cruise after my interview and took 15 north past the Strip... bar some catastrophe, which is entirely possible knowing me, i stand a retarded good chance of working at one of the gems on the Strip. baller.

Stoked to be driving a beater again. Goodbye full coverage and truck payments, hello roadside assistance from AAA.

YAY!!!

Can you come pick me up for a burn cruise? I could totally go for that right now. k thx

Just got back from a tour of the new Vancouver Convention Centre Expansion. Fucking unbelievable. Over-budget? Who the fuck cares, the thing is amazing. It won't be long till they make their money back. And the place looks like it will be loaded with restaurants, all with unbelievable views. Such a cool project.

Xmas present for me :D

This will be the first musical instrument i own...lol...i'm stoked though. Its a 3/4 scale and fretless which is exactly what i want and now im super stoked to get it and learn to play!

first day on the ON3Ps!!!!!!!!!!!!! 6 inches fresh was enough of an excuse to take them out and risk core shots. while the flex of my pair is stiffer than other rockered skis, it felt great skiing, poppy, solid, and just fun. also they were quick edge to edge for a 115 underfoot ski and i didn't really notice the weight despite them feeling kinda heavy when carrying them. oh and chair 6 opened for the first time this year, so it was deeper there.

Skied al day today, even caught a lift ride in the gondola with a guy who offered a few hits on his bowl. Nice sunny day. Burned out my legs riuping Superstar non-stop for 3 hours.

Real decent. I'm sore though, haha

So I just took my first official online college class. I was pretty surprised at how it panned out. I wasn't totally sure on what to expect. But, the professor speaks, so you actually hear them, while everyone else is in a chat room area. They use power point to guide you through the seminar, have discussion boards, and we all use AIM/email to talk to each other if need be. It was pretty cool, and since everyone knows I'm the queen of networking, this shouldn't be too bad. I'm pretty stoked on it. It doesn't mean I don't want to actually be in a classroom, but this is pretty sweet.

sick!! which model do you have?? i have jeronimos (obviously) but I haven't gotten to ski them yet.

And Ryno, sick bass, supposed to be a Jag-bass kinda thing?
