That is a fucking sick shot!

I'm stoked that I FINALLY shot a self-portrait I am happy with today, after about a month of total failure. Unfortunately I was lazy and didn't dust off the film before printing, and ended up with what are probably the worst dust spots I have ever seen. I was also using two different filters when printing, and I forget which ones I ended up going with and for how long, but it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out. Tomorrow I will achieve perfection, and then will turn in the ugliest, dirtiest self-portrait in the bunch!
 
Absolutely unreal party last night! NEON SKI ON! shit was bumpin.

Got to ski saturday, felt so good.
Left the mountain and sped back to school in time to catch the second half of the football game. We barely beat Arizona but fuck it, a win is a win and we are still alive. All we need to do is beat Oregon at home in the Civil War game this saturday and we go to THE FUCKING ROSE BOWL!!!!!
We would play Penn State and they fucking rolled us earlier in the season but I could care less, I just wanna road trip to Pasadena and watch some live football while under the influence.
And sorry Cottonwood, we might bump Utah out of the BCS bowls if we go to the Rose Bowl. No hard feelings :)
And I only have two days of school left before I get to go home for a long and much needed Thanskgiving break.
I am stoked.

Stoked on hanging out with Billy for the weekend. We have a very good time together, and the sarcasm reaches all time highs. All I can say is that if we both end up at Tahoe people had better look out, and I fear for anyone who has to ride in a car with both of us.

Stoked on Under The Influence, the big mtn skiing makes every person throwing sw 10s and doubles look like toddlers messing around with a rocking horse.

 
Way stoked on all the skiing stoke in this thread.

Also stoked that I can now go to bed because I completed my paper on 2 books that I did not read. Altogether, I must say it is a real solid piece as well.

One more 10 pager I need to do tomorrow, and then I'm done with classes for a while.
 
and now........"my team manager just sent me an email saying thanks. i guess we will know next year because they will have made some changes". im holding my breath until dakine makes design changes from my suggestions.
 
I may be sking tomorrow morning. Depends on the weather though. I know we're supposed to get a few inches overnight, but then it turns to rain tomorrow during the day, and if it rains, I'm staying in.
 
I absolutely hated doing the chair evacs for work (showing the newbs). The first two years were cool, and fun to help out on. But during orientation in the years after, I avoided it like the plague. It became less and less fun since it was never for real.
 
mission ridge has chairs that actually break down and have to do chair evacs. plus for avy control, we upload ourselves on the lift at 5am. when i was squatting and manning the breakline, it actually hurt my ass a bunch; i don't have much padding there.
 
I just have a little touching up to do on one photo and I'll be ready for my portrait/self-portrait critique tomorrow in photo, which should go pretty well. I was talking to my professor about the self-portrait this afternoon and he seemed to like it--although he used the word "demonic" to describe it. Eh.

I also have an observation drawing portfolio review tomorrow for graphics and I don't think I will totally bomb it this time (the last one earned a stunning C+). As long as he only looks at the four required drawings and ignores the fifth in my folder I just might pass myself off as an artist!
 
It's coming down pretty good up in the mountains here.

The question is... will the rain hold off... and will the lifts spin tomorrow or will they be on wind hold?
 
I'm pretty sure I've told the extended version of the story...but anyways, the girl that my previous stories are about, I am actually interested in her but haven't talked to for like...months, well I finally worked up some nerve, and we're going out to dinner this weekend. so i'm pretty happy about that.

She didn't know what she was getting in to, thus the good cuddle. I didn't really either, but I just detach myself from the movie.

I don't really understand the point of scary movies. If I want something truly scary, I'll go look at the state of politics or the destruction of the planet or look at society. Or go do something stupid on skis.

The Shining is just completely nonsensical. Time is completely fucked, reality is interchangeable, and there is an ocean of strawberry Kool Aid (which certainly isn't blood because of the quantity) that some poor sob is going to need to clean up come May.
 
Jacob's part was good. Quite good. More out of the park than I thought it would be. Still though, I'm a bigger fan of the real big mountain stuff, probably why I like MSP and TGR's movies the best.

Shane, Hoji, Abma, and Kaj all had great parts. It was nice to see Shane skiing again, not just hucking himself off stuff just to open the chute.
 
I just got a chocolate bar from my graphics professor...unfortunately it's just for girls, because as he pointed out it was a "Her," She" bar. Anyways, it's the first thing I have ever won in my life, so that was cool in a novel way.
 
8 inches quickly turned into well more than a foot while I was out today.

It was CEMENT though. Legitimate cement. It was a shit ton of work to ski in. Still was tons of fun though.

My overall skiing skills are pretty bad though.

I just turned the photos in to my crazy ass professor a couple hours ago and I don't have a scanner anyway.

As for the drawing, I didn't take a photo of that yet and it will be gone for the break as well. I think you need to share your self-portrait when you get it back, though. Or the real thing.
