The Stoked Thread

Durability will NOT be an issue, that much is for sure. The cases are laser cut out of a solid piece of aluminum. The new 2.4 MacBook is good, the new 2.0 is not so good. No backlit keyboard on the 2.0 and higher price lower speed on that model. The upgrades to the higher-end MacBook make it the best value in the entire line though.

If I were buying though, I would seriously look at the 2.4 (white or black) at the refurb store. You sacrifice the LED screen, graphics card (unless you are doing a lot of editing, no big deal), and half a pound, but the difference in price is definitely worth it I think.

I'll hold onto my air. Might look for a newer MBP when the refurbs come out after Christmas. Still not so happy about the lack of Matte screens but I don't do much editing...yet.

^ almost always wait 3 months after a new mac rev is out. if you're currently a student, sign up as a student developer license. it's a $100 1 year subscription and ya get all new OS's for free. the best part is you get 1 hardware purchase @ developer prices.

i paid $2300 including applecare and the $100 subscription. retail price was $3100.

I'm not talking about the case breaking in 1/2 or anything, i'm talking about all the smooth edges and surfaces being dinged up, scratched up, and chiped. Aluminum tends to do this since its soft although i'd bet apple has some sort of way around this.

id like to see one in person though

anyone ever seen Planet Terror? it's by Grindhouse- Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's production company- and follows their style to a "T". with that in mind, i wouldn't go so far as to say it's a "good" movie, but it's certainly entertaining. at the end of it, i was stoked on seeing Rose McGowan with a machine gun as her right leg.

I just got Rowen's beer!! I put it in the fridge - can't wait to try it! And thanks for the drawing! Haha, so stoked!

Throwing a birthday party on saturday for one of our friends who is female.

I don't know how many people know bozeman well, but we have this nice thing called the "bozeman ratio" which is probably much like every other ski town ratio. like 20 guys to every girl at the party.

well anyway, we currently have 32 girls coming, and 7 guys.

way to break the mold.

oh, and we have sweet blacklights

You're going to cause a black hole, asshole.

I am stoked because the three prints I did in photo today were all far and above everything else I have done this semester, which is totally kick ass radicool. I also already have plans to get several delicious tall boys (probably Sierra Nevada) and get blackout drunk with a good friend this weekend.

Ok...so....slight relapse after posting this last night. She kept calling/texting/NS messaging me stuff like, "Why won't you even talk to me?" so I figured she deserved an explanation anyway. So I called her...but seriously, I think I did well. Basically she just told me how this new guy was a moron and a loser and she didn't want to hang out with him anymore (no surprise there, I kind of got that impression from the outset) and she regretted ever breaking up with me. And I essentially told her, "Well, you made that decision, so you're gonna have to figure out a way to live with it." I also mentioned something along the lines of, "I'm not stoked on being the person you call after rolling out of his bed" and "I don't hate you, but I think it's better for both of us if we don't talk very much for a while."

Kind of a microcosm of the conversation: her (crying) - "I'm still in love with you." me - "[silence]....so I got really sunburned today."

It definitely sucks...we both still have feelings for each other, but I'm not just gonna take this shit and really it's better that we're not together now anyway. But in Seinfeld terms, I definitely have the upper hand in the post-breakup relationship.

^ well played. change her name in your phone to DON'T PICK UP in case you've had too many.

i am absolutely ballin right now. the jay crew is rolling 25 deep so far!

Update: this is going down tomorrow, despite the fact that I have a final drawing due at 8am thursday. I have a strong feeling that this will end in a bad case of the unstoke, but, to paraphrase Mitch Hedberg, at least the beginning and middle will be great.

No class and no work tomorrow. I have a small bit of coursework to do, but only about 1.5 hours worth. The day is mine for the taking.

Wait... so... you had an opportunity to poach Rogge's recent classic "because you're on the wrong program" line, and you passed on it? Lame. I'm definitely using that one.

Well Drew, clearly you can see it makes perfect sense...

haha. The entire idea of texting someone, "You're on the wrong program" is pretty funny. I can't explain it but I'll try.

This particular female was looking for a legitimate reason for not conversing with her. I, in my whiskey-hazed daze, thought texting, "because you're on the wrong program" was a legitimate response. I found out only recently, that it is not.

:-)

Stoked my birthday is tomorrow. For those wondering, I'll be turning 23, which is a whole Hannah Montana fan younger than Lindsay and a whole Justin Timberlake fan younger than Rob.

well buy me a shirt then bitch.

Red Bull Air Race world series on FSN

right now they're doing it up in San Diego, and there was a clip of an aircraft carrier. I wish they'd let the air force bust a few turns through the pylons.

Heard from a little birdie in Mt Ops/Grooming that K plans on firing up the guns this Friday night... Not sure yet if it's just blowing out the mice and promotional for a few pictures to generate hype, or if it will be full fledged "lets get the party started" snowmaking.

Either way, the mountain will have some white on it come Saturday.

Looks like Killington is going all out this weekend with snowmaking! Not just promotional or blowing out the mice!

amazing.... hahahaha although I go even farther back than that! like spinning the white album backwards on revolution #9

he's at lemoore in fresno now, he just finished up in pcola this summer, he was all over the place though, alabama, mississippi, and pcola, i lot track of where he was living for a while, but now he's in fresno, just did a bunch of carrier landings and takeoffs last week actually
