The Stoked Thread

Not sure if this belongs in the stoked or not stoked thread but my other brother Andy is officially in the Air Force. He came down to Albany yesterday with his recruiter and went through everything. Scored super high on both of his tests, passed the drug test (I knew he would!) and passed the family background portion of it (eventhough grams was in the hitler youth haha, that always pops up). So now I have two lil bros in the military. Interesting.

That's SICK!

I was up there last Thursday for the first time ever. Place is great. The trees didn't have any fresh (the trees we could find), but the whole mountain was still super fun.

I went and skied a fun line in sweet, sweet pow today, it was awesome. We were going to ski this mountain called Saddle Peak, but we got a late start and it got all socked in and windy before we could really go for the summit. But I still got to do one of my favorite runs, so all was well. It was also me and three girls.....backcountry skiing....weird. I'm taking down the guy/girl ratios one ski town at a time!

got to ski with ashley today, which was dope, even though she hurt herself in the trees, there was some nasty ice under about 5" of fresh so needless to say it was a little bit tough to rip through

I've been in california/ arizona all week. went skiing at bear, so fun. crazy rides at knott's berry farm. we went 122 MILES per hour on a $250 000 boat today. it blew my bikini top off. fucking crazy stuff. and so fun!

san diego tomorrow to ANOTHER fancy hotel. woooo! and deep sea fishing. i wanna catch a marlin with a pointy nose. oh ps im wasted.

I love life.

I am definitely caught up in the ski town lifestyle right now. Ski every single day, work every afternoon, rage at the bar every night. I've gotten so wasted and hooked up so many chicks this week, I'm hoping I don't have an STD. I heard one of them is kind of dirty. Hah!

Took a sled out last night. Holy fuck those things are fast as hell. Had it up to 90mph, and was too sketched to keep going.

Acceleration like NOTHING I've ever experienced, and I've been in some crazy fast cars.

Best skate shoes ever:

Learned bs wallies and almost got bs wallie fs 180s... Stoked on some gnar.

If next winter is like this one, with all the snow and such, I'm for sure going to buy a new machine...I miss that sensation you get when you pass by a car as if it were standing still.

Word. There are some sleds that do 0-60 in under I believe.

My roommates RMK 700 tops out at 80. I had it pinned for 200 yards and it wouldn't go faster. I was on a dry lake bed covered in snow, so there wasn't a bump to be found.

^ A while back I was on my Buddy's Rev 800, got it up to 120 MPH before I decided to slow down. Insane machine.

Sometihng like this one;

Gotta use the fancy editor, then click the button with an "F" in a circle and that opens up a window which you paste the embed code from youtube in and then it places the video in your post.

Kinda a pain in the ass since i hate the fancy editor

The sled I rode was a 600 I think, and I'm pretty sure I'd be afraid of anything with more power. 130hp I think on a 300lb chassis.

My Subaru only has 135hp, haha.

I might have the hook-up to go ski the Little Couloir at Big Sky in a couple weeks. It's the one on the right in this picture:

This is pretty much a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so I'm STOKED!

i saw this on tv a couple weeks ago...i can dig it too.

I'm watching a sweet talk from an old architect and the thought, effort, and style he used in the four buildings he shows is just fasicnating to watch and listen too.

Killer weekend riding Jay Peak. Picked up just about a foot of snow over the weekend. Friday the lifts didn't turn on the mountain so we built a kicker in our backyard and sessioned w/ beers in hand. Josh came down to ride for saturday, unfortunately he picked the insane busy day but still made for some great runs in the trees. Sunday was bluebird, ski on lifts all day and nothing but trees. Closed the day out with a run down the backside out to the highway, crossed over the road, skinned up a cross country trail then skied down to our shuttle car we had parked along the road. The ultimate slack country tour and nothing but fresh lines.

oh man that reminds me of ripping our 800 rev down the lake. those things pick up so fucking fast.

im pretty sure the snowmobile in that vid was a bombardier of some sort.

didnt get picked for the jury! fuck yeah!!! only sat there all morning and both the civil and criminal matters they had got resolved. i guess putting "I HEART THE DEATH PENALTY" on my questionnaire did it for me. haha jokes

That and I've had great success with stating "I don't trust cops any farther than I can throw them."

I've filled out the state questionare twice and have surprisingly never even been selected to go down there and wait to be picked.

Going to look at, and hopefully purchase a bike Friday.

It's an '05 Cannondale Jekyll. The guy is asking $700, but I'd like to meet around $650 hopefully.

It's not a massive pimp machine, but it's a hell of a stepup from the cheap Gary Fisher entry hardtail I rode to pieces last year.

That will complete my gear needs for quite some time.

finally something good. played spiderman pinball saturady night, that was way fun. goggle tan is coming in nice. and tramdock is the sickest ski shop ever. not only are they letting my exchange my first pair of broken skis for another pair (which only costs $15 more with my discount code), but since its a replacement and i need them asap for a slopestyle friday/saturday they gave me a free upgrade to next day shipping.

tehehehehe

I'm home again now. what a fabulous trip. wish I could have stayed longer. coming home from vacation is the worst feeling ever!

well...wasn't too stoked because I had to do about 20 hours of crab research these last two days.

But I am really really stoked, because I am done with thesis research. Ugh. I have been doing it basically non stop since June (10 months).

To give it some context, I have completed 298 (recorded, not even total) different crab runs in that time. Each run takes 1.5 hours.

So I have done at least 447 hours of research. Basically around an average of about 11 hours a week of research for every week since june. May not seem like that much time, but add a full course load for Premed and also trying to get ON3P going and it gets pretty stressful. God it feels good to be done.

And that doesn't include feeding and cleaning (so many cages), testing different speeds and configurations, equipment problems, data entry & statistical analysis, or the fact that I am now writing a paper that will turn out to be at least 50-60 pages.

But finally done! WOOT.

Dude, you're so lame! I've been skiing every single day and I'm moving to New Zealand for the summer. Yeah dude, skiing every day year round! Shaka!

Have fun with your fancy doctor house when you grow up. I'll have buff ski thighs and a bigger hoo hah!

had a dope ass day shredding mount snow in 40 degree sunny weather, got to ride the mount snow open course all day, and then proceeded to almost nut the giant rainbow rail which the led to falling off the top of it...not fun, but also got my taxes back which equals new skis oh and RED SOX WON OPENING GAME BITCHES
