The Stoked Thread

Kinda pissed it puked all day in Rochester, and sleeted and only snowed a little at the mtn while I was there about 40 miles south....... BS!

1st day at Bristol was a success though, met another NS'er, rode for free all day, and slashed bunches of shit patrol would probably kill me if they knew about. Minus the ice crust snow snakes, wasn't too bad.

My legs are fucked though, this 8am test tomorrow morining is going to suck nuts.

Ryan's special homemade hamburger recipe + diced jalapeno peppers in the raw meat mix + cheese + bacon = heavenly hamburger

Seriously, I love dental floss sooooo much. I have a teeth cleaning on Wednesday, and I can't wait!!! Is it weird that I actually like the dentist?

ALASKA TOMORROW! And I'm drunk again for what... the sixth night in a row? Maybe more. New Mexico in three months and five/four days!!!!

I didnt have a single beer for four days last week. After skiing Saturday, I came home and bought two flats, one of the green tilt stuff and one of PBR tallboys. Then my dad came over and dropped off a full milk crate of pints of homebrew. In the last 36 hours, I've consumed 5 tilts, 7 PBR's and 2 imperial pints of homebrew. And I'm kinda a small guy, so I've pretty much been drunk and or drunk/high for the last two days.

I'm gonna have a beer with breakfast. Wave when you've over Canada Sarah, I leave for Whistler in an hour!

A girl in my office showed up this morning with 2 dozen cookies for each person in the office. Yay for Christmas season!

Oh, and it was a hell of a weekend up in Whis. Going back up either Saturday or Sunday and will be there for 10 days straight.

Super sick day today. I was supposed to work at noon. Went out for some turns this morning, ran into a bunch of guys, ended up calling in and saying I wasn't coming in until 5pm. Skied hard all day from 9-3:30. Some park, switch runs all over, and poached some closed trails for 7-8 inches of super blower powder on top of about 4-5 inches of thick crust.

Awesome day. I'm at work now, super motivated and in an amazing mood.

Plus, a guy at the on-mountain shop is going to base-weld my core-shot for me for a six-pack. My ghetto ptex job held up for the day, but it wasn't going to hold up all that long.

Ingreeds for a batch of Ryno burgers:

- 2lb ground beef

- Original bbq sauce

- Crushed corn flakes

- 1 egg

- 1/2 pack of Lipton Onion Soup Mix

- 1 large or 2 small Jalapeno peppers (add another one if you want some real heat in em)

Get a big bowl, and put everything in it.

- thawed 2lbs of ground beef

- Crack the egg into it

- Add the 1/2 pack of soup mix

- heaping tablespoon of corn flakes (helps it stick together).

-Add 2 tablespoons of bbq sauce.

-Add the finely chopped jalapeno pepper

Shape as many burgers as you want...7 small ones or 5 big ones usually does the trick. Make sure they are shaped a touch on the thin side as the mix tends to shrink a bit and the thinness helps avoid burgers that look like spheres (which sometimes dont cook through all the way).

Cooking:

preheat a pan to low/med-low (3.5/10 if you have a number scale). Add a splash of oil to the pan and throw a burg into it...only flip it one...after the flip add the cheese and bacon and wait till the bottom is finish.

Garish as you want!

Fucking tasty bastards

Just got my poster of Angela Gossow and Cristina Scabbia in the mail:

Now my house is complete!

Well, it was staying in actually, the guy offered though after I showed him.

I skied them all day for about 6 hours, real hard. Lots of park impacts, and no pieces fell out. It was cracking, but I had taken them into the cold too quickly, which caused the cracking.

I'm not complaining. A six pack will cost me 6-7 bucks, haha.

Yesterday at snow totally kicked ass!!!! So much freakin snow.

Only downside were the gusts of wind and because of that, they only had two lifts running. So in short, lots of traversing was had but so worth it. At times when we were having safety meetings in the trees, I had snow up to my waist. Un-fuckin-real for the EC!! Im so stoked on this winter its not even healthy!!!

His favorite is Coors, so I'm not bitching, as a 6-pack of Corrs is 6-7 bucks here in the states.

coors light=water

dude how are you prices on magic hat down there? holy shit i went to buy a 6er the other day and it was $9.99. fuck that

ugh i do and only had about $12 on me. a 12er of the good beer is pushing $18.99 plus tax. stupid

Stoked that I finally sacked up and started to learn switch on to the box. I've never taken off a jump or hit a rail switch in the last 2 years because i've been worried about my bad knee (acl reconstruction). Finally sacked up last night and killed it...woo!

people who don't have room-mates and are too spontaneous to catch the beer distributor. Oh ya that's a shitty PA thing I forgot you guys can buy mass quantities of booze at any store. Lucky bastards

2-4's and 2-8's because I'm way too lazy to walk to the beer store all the time.

I suppose you guys get 6 packs because you can get booze anywhere

here in NY yeah you can get beerage just about any place.

other states not so much. i know in CT you cant buy booze past 9 or something and in RI you have to buy booze at a liquor store.

Yup. Grocery store, gas station, pretty much anywhere that sells food.

For hard liquor/wine you need to go to the liquor store.

nice dude! i did the same on sunday when we set up our stuff. boxes were nice but super slippery from the wintry mix that was hitting us like no other. so i decided to build a nice kicked and guinea pigged it going switch. such an odd sensation but i kept at it and hit it switch to 180. oh yes im moving on up!

I'm fairly proficient at skiing switch, can carve well, and carry good speed, yet I lack the confidence to go into any, but the smallest jump switch.

I should spend some time working on that.

its so much easier and so much more fun when the snow is super soft.

ive gotten quite well skiing switch. linking about 10 turns each time...then i start going way too fast. not out of control fast...more like oh im gonna eat shit fast.

That is exactly what I do. I can ski the whole hill switch all day (i regularly do whole runs), i love it, its fun as hell. I tend to lean over my toes a little too much though in the park so when I went off jumps and shit, I would always be unbalanced.

Skiing switch on groomers is fun. I pop 180s and ski whatever way i'm in until i find another thing to 180 off (rollers and shit).

Ya I've just never tried it, I hit and even spin off drops switch on blades so I kinda know the feeling and got the staggerfoot thing going on. Just never tried it, I've skated and skied parks for a long time and I still can't get over looking like an ass when I take a spill. So I think I'm a little reluctant to try at a ski hill my first time. I'm gonna make a trip to our cabin and try all that shit when PA actually gets some snow.

I don't feel bad, fuck I'm a spring chicken as far as I'm concerned. I just don't wanna wait any longer to try some of this funky new backwards skiing stuff.
