The Stoked Thread

Hell ya man, I won that pack for the elvis contest. Awesome pack for sure, so far I'm through believe and seven sunny days. Just got em like 2 days ago.

My local hill opens for the season tomorrow at 4pm with 5 rails currently setup in the park and possibly more features setup tomorrow.

Bridger opens tomorrow! I'm going up for a few hours in the morning, then I have to get to class. But I'm stoked to try out my seth pistols with alpine bindings, they should be a little more fun than they were with naxos!

I just scored four bottles of wine for free! So uhhhh....wine and cheese party at my place next friday!

I'm going to opening day at kicking horse on saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!

so unbelievably excited! they have sooooo much pow. and it's the best mountain, ever. yes I said it, EVER.

Stoked that my ma dukes is coming up to my place tonight and staying over until I have to go to work tomorrow. Good food, lots of wine, maybe a binger or two and we're decorating the tree! Yeehaa

I talked to Christian today, guy who runs the ski shop in the lodge, about my dilemma of my brother needing his snowboard back. He's letting me "rent" a Rossi Diva board, it's used but not beaten. Which is definitely dope sauce...saved.

Plus, if I like the board, he'll sell to me cheap.

It's 4:00 on my last day of work. On Fridays in the winter, there is a "scotch-club" where people take turns buying bottles of different scotch and then we drink them. I don't really like scotch though, and I'm actually feeling pretty sick. I caught a virus or something about two weeks ago and haven't been able to fully shake it. I hope it doesn't ruin my skiing plans for this weekend.

I was thinking more along the lines of 6-8 people getting slightly drunk at my place and discussing crap n' other things. When I get really drunk off wine, bad things happen.

I have in my hands the DVD of Fully Flared, perhaps the greatest video of all time, sipping on some coffee in Santa Cruz, with the weekend ahead and no worries. yesssss.

My molehill opened last night, with 5 features up in the aprk already. Flat rail, up rail, propane tank jib, flat box (setup on a down) and a rainbow box.

Sickest opening day ever.

Opening day today....i skied pillow lines and almost 2 feet of powder all day

in ontario...

Man, you guys are lucky... all done with finals and such. GAH this week will be HELL!

On another note, I'm really happy today for some reason. My ex has been out of the house all day, which may play a role, so I've just been able to do my thing and blast my music and be stoked on MY life without dealing with his bull shit. So yay, I'm happy.

And I'm stoked for Alaska in nine days, wooo! Oh yeah, and I'm stoked for the last show of The Chicharones this year tomorrow night. Love them.

My fiance is a full-time nanny for a family where both parents are doctors, and have invited us to go to Florida for 4 nights.

We will be staying the the Hilton in Fort Lauderdale, with our own oceanfront suite. like a $400/night room. They are paying for everything, flight, hotel... Just need to help take care of the kids, 3 year old and 8 month old, both of which are very, very well behaved. They already told us we will have some personal time too.

December 16th to the 30th.

Yeah, that's what I was just thinking.

Damn, sounds like a nice deal! I hope you have a blast dude!

Just got back from sauveur with Doug, and I gotta admit he is the best coach ever. He was giving me so many great tips and I think I progressed more in one day than I did all last year

my hill has a sick little setup for opening weekend, notable a propane tank jib, a flatbox with an urban style takeoff, and a rainbow box.

I've progressed more the past 3 days of skiing than I did all of last season. I used to be so anti-rails/boxes.

I was dancing on the prpane tank, and sliding the flatbox using the "urban" takeoff with smooth style, and sliding the rainbow no problem.

This is huge for me, because I used to struggle with just a simple flat-box with a regular headon takeoff.

I just got back from the best first date imaginable. It went something like this: Friday night after work I went home, packed up some stuff, and went over to his place. We got our things ready and in his car and off we went to Golden, BC. Listened to some rad music on the way. Had some dinner and drinks, lots of laughs, and met up with his roomates and friends. In to the hotel and time for a restless night's sleep. Early up on Saturday, yummy breakfast, and off to the hill. One extremely fantastic day of riding, opening day at Kicking Horse. It was busy but we managed to get 5 runs in (keep in mind these are 4100 vertical feet runs). Such incredible snow, lots of super light pow. He is a great skier and pushed me to ski harder than I normally would have. We couldn't stop smiling all day. Then, a quick snack and back in the car to drive home. We decided to stop in Canmore to hot tub, more dinner and drinks, and more hot tub. And hotel it again. Got up this morning and drove the rest of the way home.

I can't even think of how this whole weekend, or any date, could possibly have gone any better. I think he's a keeper!

Today at Berthoud Pass

Exponential growth and decay models make sense to me now, and it only took about 8 hours of studying! But what I'm really stoked about is that I'll probably get to forget all about them in two days! Ahhhh, when finals are over I get to take back my semi-sanity.

First ski day at my local mountain. Flat jumps, park pass shennanegins, and I still am bitter about rails. I need to study, but snow was better than books, good decision today for sure, 8:00am final be damned tomorrow.

Weekend in jay, Snow was awesome! Still getting freshies 5 days after the storm. Rode hard all weekend, sooo sore now.

Where to start? It's been snowing in Durango for damn near a week strait, I just got a sick new jacket, I'm almost done with my finals, and my level of stress is gradually going down. This is the first time I've been relatively happy and optimistic in over a month.
