Stoked that I'm 5 minutes away from eating a really late Thanksgiving meal with my family! Mmmmmm it's gonna be soooooo goood!!! WooooO!!

13.5 hours away from making my first turns of the season, in nearly 2 feet of powder!!!

Drugs are good. They help me type stuff like this without thinking about it too much:

Three of the books covered this semester in US 101 shared a remarkably similar recurring theme. Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray is a vivid story depicting the life of an innocent young man who slowly degenerates from the inside out, eventually collapsing under the weight of corruption. Persepolis, by Marjane Satrapi, covers the internal decadence of Islamic fundamentalism during the Iranian revolution. The arresting ease in which people grew to embody Hitler’s callous idealism is delineated in Viktor E. Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning. But how can these be tied together? In all three, the enemy is not some ruthless beast, incurable disease, or imminent disaster; it is the symposium of sickness created by the human mind.

Dorian Gray’s downward spiral allows a look at the theme on a diminutive scale. The book starts with a pure character, someone seemingly free of any and all personality flaws. But he was too perfect. Upon meeting Lord Henry, Dorian’s virgin mind is tainted by the power of words and quickly enveloped in a world of dark insanity. His relationship with Lord Henry borders on idolatry, allowing every passing word and nonchalant action of his to have an interminable effect. Dorian’s exterior appearance remains untarnished throughout the entire ordeal, while his soul enters a state of perpetual decay.

Now I just need to come up with another 1,300 words to cap it off with. And then go back and fix all the massive holes I'm leaving when I sober up. Only a few more days of this crap and it's SKI TIME!!!!1

Haha, that reminds me of what my friend showed me today. She turned in a rough draft of an essay in a class she really doesnt care about and usually can pull a 4.0 in anyways. She submitted the essay to her prof with the phrase "Svarl was kind of an asshole" in it... not only that, 'asshole' was highlighted, as she intended to go back and re-write it. She forgot. The prof crossed it out and put "Lout?"

Yeah, I really don't care about this class. So far I've gotten 100% on everything except the last paper, which I slipped up on and got an 89%. My teacher usually teaches 6th grade and this is her first time working on campus--I'm pretty sure she doesn't switch gears at all. This should be fun.

Haha, I know how that is! I had to write a paper on capital punishment a couple weeks ago and I had to cut myself off once I was at 2,200 words (for some reason we had to be around 1,500). I didn't get to cover anything nearly as well as I wanted to, it was no bueno.

My father has outdone himself with this newest batch of homebrew. Think Spaten Oktoberfest, but for free, and in mass quantities.

Just checked my remaining vacation days for the year and realized I only took 2 days off in 2007, which means I currently have 14.5 in the bank which I can take or carry over till next year :) May need to do a few long weekends :)

Its 8 inches wide, 10-12 feet long, lexan as the topsheet

Nothing huge but fun to have given our rather small 'backyard'

having fun is key.

mine are only 8 feet long, 1 foot wide and with adjustable height. its sweeeeeeet!

luckily you have a backyard. mine gets strapped to the roof rack and taken over to our local park.

Just got home from skiing. It was bonkers. Super busy, but there was NO ski patrol hardly at all. I poached a closed run around 15+ times and was scoring a foot of fresh powder all afternoon.

Felt so awesome to be out.

I'm exhausted and sore already. My quads HATE me.

Alaska in twelve days!!!! I'll be there from 17-29, during which time I will ski my home mountains which I miss so dearly. Knee surgery when I return, but fuck it!

And then New Mexico in three months and sixteen days, woo!

Oh yeah, and I had to miss a ton of class due to doc appointments and stuff this past month, so I got a 57 on my last calc exam (worst exam score of my life), butttt I just figured out that I can still get a high B overall grade if I get at least a low B on the final, wooooo!

I'm pretty sure I'm going to go poke a hole in my face here in a couple weeks, so I guess I'm stoked about that. I don't need reasoning.

Oh man, I'd have to be reaaaallllllllyyyy drunk to be front row at a Lynard Skynard concert.

I'd bring a confederate flag, too (am I joking?).

i have no time to read your recent stoked, but anyways i am stoked that tomrrow is my last final for winter break YESHHH!

Eyebrow. I figure since I've split my left one down to the bone twice, I may as well put a nice hole in the right. The human face is very symmetrical, and I don't want to upset that balance. And I've wanted one for about four years, so maybe it'll quite bugging me.

^ Awesome, that's what I have pierced. My right too. Words of advice, is to get it pierced with a hoop, not a barbell. And keep the hoop until it's fully healed. The barbell doesn't allow for it to heal properly, and more often than not the skin above the metal tends to dry out. I had to get my done a second time because of this, and the guy said it was a common problem.

Ahhh, that's good to know since I was going to get a barbell. Do I have to worry about infections or healing problems if I'm going to be out skiing a bunch right after I get it. I know I should probably wait until the end of break, but I feel like I'd rather get the bulk of the maintenance crap over with before I get slammed with schoolwork again.

As long as you clean it on a daily basis, you'll be fine. When you clean it (hydrogen peroxide works fine) spin the hoop around so that it gets all inside where it's pierced. And your gogs will serve as protection. And post pics!

Oh, and don't get a haircut until after it's healed and you can tug on it. So many fucking times the comb catches the hoop - now it doesn't hurt (if it's healed)...but the hairdresser just about has a heart attack. "OMG I AM SOOOO SORRY! DID I HURT YOU?? IS IT BLEEDING???" I actually almost look forward to it when I get my hair cut now.

I'm not planning on getting a haircut for a long time. I think I'm just growing it out the rest of the ski season and getting a sick hawk when Bridger closes.

i was told that hydro peroxide drys it out so i never used it..only used bactine and a&d ointment

haha yeah dude. ive had many piercings and tats....all say bactine and a&d. i cant believe ive never had my eye brow pierced. ive always wanted it done.

maybe i need to get something new...mmmmm.....
