The Stoked Thread

I'll sleep in that big grass field if there's no room inside I don't care. It's like an unwritten rule amongst winter sports enthusiasts, if there's still room on the floor come on up. I will usually invite myself along on friends trips after heavily evesdropping on conversations, people don't usually mind, the more the merrier.

Hmmm... NS LM21+ Meet at Jay sometime this winter?

I bet I could get Bangor and Ryno and drive up there together from WNY/Ontario

I've never winter camped, but I'm sure with one of those pimp ass sleeping bags that are rated for like -40 you stay plenty warm.

First off - *Pancake Hamburgers hehe

And there's been talk of a end of season meet up of us NSers at Jay Peak. There was even a thread...I'm too scared to bump it though. It's kinda scary. No wait, it's REALLY scary. We could just start a new one. Hehe.

sure we can get something going. We've been told there is a basement and we plan to get a bunch of those giant inflatable air matresses to put down there. Hell I spent all last season sleeping in the living room/kitchen/sketchy elevator shaft of our last place, I am just stoked to have a room and bed guaranteed this year!

I'd be down for coming up to shred pow, as long as I got 2 other people to carpool with and to do it on the ghetto cheap.

Gotta save money for moving next summer.

I'll pick up whoever needs a ride anywhere, I love to drive the yota. Although when I head up to VT i go straight up I87 in eastern NY through Albany.

Anybody who wants to, the back seats in the truck are kinda small but we've done PA to VT with four guys before and that wasn't too bad. It just makes for a cozy ride.

I'd prolly try and get Ryan and Ian out and head up. Ryan would drive to Buffalo, we'd pick up Ian in rochester which is right along the way. Road trip in the Subaru Outback!

It's making me excited just pondering the idea of it.

My copy of Wanderland was in Syracuse, NY as of last night.

Which means it will arrive this afternoon at my house!!!

Happy!

Uhm.

I don't think stoked even covers my attitude right now. It's beyond stoked.

I just finished watching Wanderland, which is quite possibly the best ski film I have ever seen. I am pumped to ski. I cannot wait for a big dump to go earn some powder turns.

And they are forecasting lake effect snow with "some accumulation possible in the higher elevations" for Tuesday Night going into Wednesday.

Way too early to say how much snow we are looking at, but Lake Erie is 58 degrees, and they are talking abut favorable winds, favorable pressure gradients, and upper 20 degree temperatures.

I'm not going to get overly confident, but it is quite possible to see some major dumpage.

I'm going to just jizz myself right now.

I patched things up with my friend recently, and I'm really stoked. Stuff was really rocky for a while, but now I think it's good.. We lived together and shit went really downhill, but I've offered to help him with some marketing stuff for his company, and i'm really excited about it.

Yay friendship!!!!

So yeha. Already was stoked on skiing last night, and the forecasters have been saying lake effect snow over and over, and possible accumulations, but noone mentioned how much because Lake Effect is so hard to forecast as it's incredibly localized (feet in some areas, blue skis 5-10 miles away)

Well I log onto accuweather.com today to read this...

"The Great Lakes will get snow flurries and squalls with some areas picking up a foot or more of snow. Most of Michigan will have snow, as will areas downwind of lake Erie and Ontario. I am still not sure of the location of the storm the week of the 12th, but the GFS continues to show a storm that week"

Oh yeah. I'm waxing my skis this weekend and am prepared to take a sick day on Wednesday to earn some turns. Crossing the fingers and hoping for dumpage.

Then my hill is having a railjam on Saturday morning!

After not doing any of the bookwork or studying for my first calc exam, I got a 67. Had my second calculus exam yesterday morning, and I kicked its ass, yay! I either got an A or a high B, so I'm happy. Our lowest exam score gets dropped (except the final), so hopefully, I'll get in A this term.

Got a 96/100 and a 34/30 on my chem exam and quiz, respectively.

98 on oceanography exam.

95 and 100 on my writing essays (which were ridiculously hard).

100 on my ASL exam thing.

100 on my philosophy presentation.

I'm kicking ass this term, YES! Even with 26 credits (ew). Stoked. :)

That would be the one! We had to lead the class in group discussion, and I guess I was the only one to have successfully done that thus far. Yay.

Jesus christ sarah....how do some people do so well in school?

I suck

I'm stoked on Bloc Party though

I hate you, destroyer of the curve.

Also, I guess I only have 12 more credits to take... thinking about takin the winter off actually.

I went skiing today!!! Tried out the new touring setup at A Basin. 180 Black Diamond Verdicts with FR+ Binders= Excellent. Most fun I have ever had on a new pair of skis EVER.

Stoked!

It's rain/snow mix here right now with a STIFF south wind. Feels way colder than it is.

Lake effect snow advisory for 6am tomorrow thru late wednesday with scattered snow showers thru friday night. Prelim estimates are around 6-10 inches at elevations over 1200 feet, but if the temperatures are a bit colder than forecasted, they are saying totals could be significantly more.

Why post the SAME EXACT thing in two different threads? It would have been more enjoyable to read had they been worded differently. Hahahaha
