The Stoked Thread

Stoked I just had an awesome weekend with my son, went hiking to a waterfall, went mountain biking together and in invented a cool new recipie for chedder cheese potato soup. Stoked about the fall colors and winter coming. Not stoked that my knee still hurts like a bitch, but ever optimistic about it being ok to ski on in about a month...

I railed out an epic ride on Saturday morning. 2 hours, 14 miles of XC singletrack. it was so cold you could see your breath. Ground was firm and dry. Leaves looked beautiful on the trees and on the ground.

Felt amazing.

What am I stoked on... I'm poor, but loving my life, I'm not sick, I'm sorta drunk/buzzed, its pouring rain and windy outside (I love storms!) and while I have no good girl prospects, I have no bad issues relationship wise. Sometimes, being completely neutral is a pleasure within itself. I'm off to find more beer, and some food, and then watch House.

Let me build on this...

SWEEP!!!

Stoked that I made a delicious turkey sandwich. With Irish swiss, HV ranch dressing, lettuce, & tomato on a bakery roll. Shit is MAD good.

WOOT! Rockies kick ass.

O...and the Sox just lost! Double Woot (I know there are red sox fans in here...sorry...but I would rather have CO facing the Indians than you....plus red sox fans are just like slightly less annoying yankees fans).

yeah if its the rockies/indians im rooting for the rockies.

i dont know what the fuck happened last night. wakefields knuckleball was golden and then i took some nyquil and dont know what followed. either way the fuckin lost. francona's gonna be paid a visit by my guns very shortly

MORE than stoked on my new pack! And how I got it is even better. I ordered the Dakine Heli pack of evogear in brown/plaid. I guess I had ordered the last one, and they couldn't locate it in the warehouse. So they suggested I take another color, and get free shipping. It was charcoal/pink, which is not my style. But I said ok anyway. Then they get back to me, they don't have that color anymore either! Grr. The only one left is light grey/pink, which I really didn't want. But they offered to take more money off. So, since I'm looking to save money, I said ok. But then saw a newer Dakine Heli pack, for more money, and asked them to send me that one. Well, they did! It's better than the original pack, for the price of the original, with free shipping and $20 store credit! WOOOOOO! Sorry so long, I'm just uber stoked!

that is fuckin awesome right there!!!!! evogear is the shit. ive bought so much stuff from them. great prices, awesome customer service (obviously) and their products are top of the line.

the pack i want is made by burton with speakers and a smaller cooler in it. i can see it now....chillin at the lean-to off of cathedral, smoking a fatty, throwing back a cold one and listening to some awesome tunage. rock on

I've got last years Dakine Heli Pack in the brown with white and green plaid. I love it. It's a bit small, but for a good day-pack, and for short hikes it's so perfect. Hugs your body so nicely.

the best thing about them is they aren't very wide so you've got full motion of your arms.. a coupla of other packs I've tried were pretty limiting in the arm movement region. that and the hydration sleeve is pretty rad, the pocket on the hip belt is useful and generally a rad pack all round

stoked that my bf is finally convinced on the whole sauveur, jay peak, ev pass thing. so if things work out with us next week then i will be riding sauveur and jay this winter!!!!! :)

he's one of those tremblant kids. all of his buddies ride there blalbla. but...now he has met these new guys who all ride sauveur soooooooooo he's like i guess i'll know some ppl etc.

and now he's leaning more towards it which is great.

jay is kinda far for us so u just have to keep that in mind.

You're from MTL, right?

I'll be in Rutland next year, and if it dumps big and I'm committment free, I'm going to Jay, and it'll be 3 hours for me!!!

Yesterday was a shitty day. My life was full of choices, like 50/50 shots, and I consistently made the wrong choice all day. Two busses on the street on the same route, and I run to the further one across the street, dodge traffic, and ask the driver, 'does this go to Bellevue!?'. He points to the other bus... thats pulling away. After a half mile the bus pulled to far away (I was catching up at stoplights...) and I resigned myself to being late to my next class. The bus drops me off at a t-intersection... and because my directions are great, I walk down the wrong road and do a huge half mile loop around the library. Thats just a sample of what went bad that day.

So I came home with hot teriyaki and beer. Had four tall boys, then went out to bars with a friend. I blacked out around 12 I think, and interesting note, I'm not an ass when I'm drunk. I walked her home. My room is a disaster right now, I dont know what I was doing last night, but there are plastic bags from our kitchen just EVERYWHERE.

Oh, and I'm stoked because I'm going to see a play tonight. BOOYA.

Stoked to have just picked up a pair of slightly used line 177 chronic wides at the post office. 300 shipped for skis and bindings used one season. Just need a little touch up paint and some freakin snow.

Sorry J.D. you were too far.

Stoked as I sit here watching Snow Gods getting all stoked.

A little more than a month and I'll be skiing locally!

It doesn't appear to be available for purchase yet. When it is, you can buy it online, or from your lolcal Eastern mountain Sports.

stoked that my new forks finally arrived, that I'm halfway through exams and have a 10day gap to the next one, that I sold my mixer, and that the guy paid quickly for it. Also it looks like its gonna be a really nice day out today. 7:40am clear blue ski, not a breath of wind, the birds are singing..

That thing is fucking sick!

Oh, I'm stoked that I have another date on friday with pretty former fashion model who now works for the federal government's competition committee.
