The Stoked Thread

I could ski, but have chosen to move put the gear away for the season. The skis are in the back of the garage now, with the Cannondale sitting by the door.

I spent yesterday afternoon perusing the art galleries and book stores downtown since it was super nice out, and filled my growler with a kick ass local IPA (which tastes strangely like marijuana). Then I went over to the girly's house, watched The Departed, and passed out at 11. It was anticlimatic and awesome.
 
had an awesome weekend skiing with adam. hit up tuckermans ravine on saturday. It was clouded in and crusty, but was still a good mission with a nice soft ski down the ski trail to the base. Headed back to jay and burnt some shit in a quality huge bon fire. Skied jay peak on sunday with one of the best spring ski days I have had in a long time! Soft snow, good coverage and noone there. Great end to the season!
 
Both times we've burnt skis in that bonfire it's snowed within 48 hours. So so so stoked on my pass for Jay next season. Are you in on a house with us Chris? Definites are me, Adam, Cody, & Brad. Add in Ed if he gets a job in Boston plus probably one or two of the housemates from this year.
 
I really hope I have a position next winter that allows me some more flexibility and the ability to make it up to Jay to rip with you guys sometime.
 
What a delightful weekend. Skiing Saturday was springy delicious, then the night session - pocket QP against an old shipping container. Really though, that kinda shit needs to happen more often. Our little rag-tag group has the cameras, the lightstands, the generator and the motivation to really make some cool shit and have fun. Today was a blast too, kudos for David and Ryan getting us a place to sleep up there. Pond skim was a bit lame, but fun, and our attempt at Cowboy Mtn BC was funtastic. Just a good weekend to end the season at my local area. Now to poach other resorts and hike to earn turns until, oh, July.

In other stoke, skied saturday at Timberline, god damn the park is epic. A lot of the same features they are gonna have for the West Coast Session that is gonna start wednesday. If any of you are considering attending, I highly suggest you do, its gonna be ridiculous seeing a lot of the best park skiers tear things up.
 
how much does sharing a house like that usually run per person? I'm gonna be fresh outta school by then (i hope) and, well.... probably going to ski bum the way i've been saying I should since I was like 16.

 
saturday i "worked" at mission ridge. set up race gates, stood in a keg line with my skis on, and got a private sled rides up to microwave (resort closed two weeks ago)

so much talent , i especially enjoyed the shots where he made some huge drops and then perplexed bystanders came and looked around trying to figure out what just happened
 
The last shot is awesome. He just pops off and all the people go running to the ledge, and he's just pedaling away so chill.

That man is EXTREMELY talented.
 
Adam paid $1200 for this season. Pretty sure the guy who set it up screwed them a little because he's a d-bag. We can probably do better.

Not stoked last Friday when I went into work to find out my shifts for the weekend, (golf course maitenance) After waiting 2 weeks to start, working 2 shifts, and then expecting to work over the weekend, I was told he hired on too many new guys (me being the newest and least experienced) bottom of the totom pole he asked me to wait another week and offered me 20 hours a week over summer.

So I showed up today and played a round of golf, planning on doing it all week:)

Got a birdy on the second hole, dropped the ball about 2 feet from the pin thought I was going to get a hole in 1. Only made par one other hole, lots of double and triple bogies.
 
I officially love this picture. Its Billy, David, Myself and Will at the top of a sketchy ass hike on Cowboy mountain, a really steep and sketchy BC area above the main resort. We're at the highest point of the ridge in this lower picture when we took that one, with nothing but surfy spring slush underneath;

And Im stoked on the weather but the drastic changes kill me. We go from winter to a few days of spring and then right into summer and humidity. eww I hate humidity

And maybe not humidity. Last warmer stretch we just chewed through featured humidity in the teens and fire weather warnings!

I'm cool with it being warm and busting out sandals and shit.
 
You're lucky, it was 70 for me on friday, and now we have been getting shitty sloppy snow since sunday evening. if the ground was still frozen, we would have a foot of snow on the ground. even the public schools were closed today! FML.

.... and they say summer break starts in two weeks. i feel like it should be christmas. it literally hasn't stopped since sunday.

Hailey is officially registered for Kindergarten next year. She was above average on her screening, and the teacher was especially impressed with her drawing skills. It was funny to be in my elementary school again though, seeing a lot of teachers who were once my own.
 
I just stepped back into the office after a great ride break - 70 degrees and sunny with no wind. All year our jumps have sucked, but finally today, every jump I hit was fucking money!!!
