The Stoked Thread

And... she can sort of keep up, better than most. Not only that, but we've got even more in common than I thought.

This needs to go places.

Honestly, I care more about the fact that she skis, hikes, writes, and thinks that showering too often is stupid.

Interior decorating abilities aren't even on my radar screen.

I just hired a super awesome babysitter. She played with my kids a bit last summer, and her interaction was phenomenal. I am super anal about who I let watch my children without me around. So I asked her about this summer and she's game. AND she's totally psyched about it (a good sign of a great sitter). This means I can do the sports program with the local camp and my kids can come too. Sa-weet!

I skied for about five hours in the rain today with my 10 year old cousin. She took a fall early in the day and broke her goggles, but she didn't want to quit so I lent her my goggles. The conditions were so utterly terrible that it became really fun to just cruise slushy groomers completely soaked without goggles. Gotta get one of those kind of days in every few seasons.

I hear ya there....but cooking? Cooking is clutch. There is nothing better than a beautiful, smart, active woman who loves to cook and entertain.

Feel free to interpret that as anything between "organizing dinner parties with friends" and "giving handjobs in crowded movie theaters".

was not stoked to get home and see that i had missed my ups delivery -- after a few phone calls, i'm now 30 minutes away from meeting up with the driver and getting my laptop!

in the words of john McClane YIPPEE KI YAY MOTHERFUCKERRRRRRRR

whatever i did, i didn't do it right, just met up with the guy, and though he had 2 packages from lenovo, neither were the laptop, i'm back to the waiting game -- i think Wednesday i'll be partying on the white board

grabbed Lena's dad's CD Mix2 last night... and spent six hours straight mixing house/techno/trance/electro. the first beat dropped at about five to nine and i didn't shut her down until after 3am... SO MUCH FUN. i need to grab a mixer/Pro Tools interface sometime this summer along with Pro Tools (later this week), then i'll be able to start producing my own mixes. yesssssssss! my plan at this point is to start throwing together hour+ mixes and posting them here on NS free for download while i'm in school... the idea being that there are few places on the internet where i'll get put to shame harder than NSG if i produce shit mixes. sooooooo goddamned stoked that i can't even explain!
also, got part of my tax return today. Michigan apparently works a wee bit faster than the Feds. stoked on sushi tonight! ohmyfuckingGAWD i love sushi!

Don't mean to bust you bubble, but if the songs aren't your originals, NS will likely delete em. Thats the reason NS radio stopped streaming, legal music right issues.

i'm not really worried... there are so many loopholes that i'll find a way to make it happen. i'm not going to upload them here, so they'll just have to delete my threads (the mods are pretty good at that), links i post, and links i put in my profile.
furthermore, so much of the stuff i've been listening to recently isn't available in the US (Axwell, Guetta, etc) and the artists are VERY understanding about copyright issues... i might have trouble keeping it up on NS, but i know i'll never have any issues with the artists or their labels. these guys want their music out there- they don't get too hung-up on copyright bullshit. the point is to spread the music, not be a bitch about it.
bottom line, i'm not worried about it at all.

I've seen lots of download threads created and never deleted because of copyright issues.

just my point of view.

Stoke because i got to hit big jumps for the first time in two years, i sacked up and hit my first 60 footer and it was fuckin nuts. also started trying two handed hand drag 360's and almost got them down in a day.

Holy fucking GORGEOUS weather.

Around 50 with a humidity of 20%. There was a fucking red flag warning on the weather for fire danger, in Vermont, in April.

I got in a nice 1.5 hour ride after sitting on my ass all day travelling back to VT from WNY where I had a nice visit with the fam over the weekend.

we all knew colbert would win the vote, the question remains whether or not the sissies over at NASA have the balls to honor it.

stoked on starting to play music with a couple of buddies that is..... interesting hahah. we've decided i'm a keyboard-ist. couple of jam sessions have come out with a couple funky recordings..... not quite primetime yet.

anyway that said i'm picking up what could possibly be a DOPE ass organ/synth from the '60s next weekend, if it sounds as good as i think it will it might just be better than sex. little nervous though cause it's so rare I can't find ANY info about it and it's going 45 years old...... but fuck it. gonna test it and see how she sounds.

I have an odd feeling that if Ashley tells you to "turn on the jets", she will be talking about something completely different.

Haha, you have a point.

But Will's fiancee is named Ashley too, so we need to figure out a way to keep track of these things. Maybe I'll just call her WAsh. (for Will's Ashley, or Washington Ashley).

Effin' awesome day on Blackcomb yesterday. Only 2 hours of skiing, but the mountain was empty. So many fresh tracks, so many faceshots. Booyah.

hahaha I call every Ashley I know Smashley. Actually I have stupid nicknames for most people I know.

On another note. I love my dogs. They are the best pets ever. I have no idea how people can be scared or hate Rottweilers. They are fantastic dogs. They are super versatile. They make great family dogs. They make great anything dogs. Well ....unless you want to carry them in a purse. I suppose you could....if you were Hulk Hogan.

Here is Sadie

I finally have enough time to myself with a lack of schoolwork that I can go on ANOTHER ride this evening.

The weather is just too nice not to.

So I had found a place to live in Kellogg that was pretty nice, but it was $425 a month and not very close to the bike shop, the mountain, or any bars (surprisingly). Today I got a call from a friend who lives there and he has a vacant room in his house for $275 a month. He is the bike shop manager at Silver Mountain and has a full shop in his house, with plans on building a pump track in the yard this summer. I need to call back the rental place and bail!
