that being said, i have done a fair amount of working with illegals, and i agree that "MOST" mexicans do not make this much.

Previous action / inaction by moderators doesn't have a bearing on policy, first of all. There is no precedent value for staff actions. Secondly, I've never seen a mod call someone a "faggot", but if I do, I will delete it, promise.
 
i am not talking exclusively about any race. i am saying a single or even a couple. a single working person with an income of 30k is FAR from the soup lines... hell it was a shit load more than my dad made for years... i think he said first officers are being hired on now at 28k a year... not gonna support a family of 4, but maybe you need to wait. my dad didnt get married until he was 30 and didnt have kids until he KNEW, he could provide a living for his family.

no one made my dad wait, but a result of HIM making a smart choice and waiting i was born into a good upper middle class life.

it did. but i PERSONALLY dont think that he should have to make that choice. isnt that part of that pursuit of happiness that we are allowed by the declaration of independence? so why should we limit peoples ability to pursue that.

Reread my post: there is no precedent value for anything. When staff does something, going "ha! you did something inconsistent with that in this past instance!" is pointless. It does not matter, this website doesn't work that way. Bottom line: doesn't matter if it's hypocritical or if it isn't, the policy is the policy and we'll be carrying it out irrespective of what's happened in the past. That goes for all rules on the site.
