The reason i like Barack Obama

im soo sick of seeing u be soo negative about everything, u think its virtually almost impossible for someone in the ghetto to come out of poverty, its NOT get that through ur head! and dont tell me to give u an example or back myself up, becuase sooooooo many ppl in here have already done so, but u seem to just be mocking them and calling them "unintelligent" well let me ask u this, what makes u soo intelligent that u can say they are wrong and u r right? its really getting rediculous about how u feel we should give soo much to the poor...

Actually both sides of my family made their way from poverty (in my mom's case VERY extreme, like "soup kitchen for dinner kids") and they now enjoy the benefits of their hard work. I find it ridiculous that you criticize people with opinions on poverty as you sit there on your Apple notebook and rant. My parents are firm believers in the American dream because they both sacked up and worked hard. Anyone can do it if they try. To say otherwise, unless you are talking about physical disability, is bullshit.
 
Oh I see, your talking about my grandfather who was in fact a dirt poor illegal immigrant until he earned enough to become legal. He became a chemical engineer after earning enough to go to college. Do you have another example? The one you gave was of a person who just accepted their status and complained about it.
 
You keep saying "the system is set up" but I fail to see how the system disallows people to work. People wouldn't come here from all over the world to find work if it didn't exist, so what are you talking about?!?!?
 
I swear if some of you changed the amount of time that you bitch the same thing to the same people unwilling to accept your ideas about taxes, to work hours for actual money, you would have more money than any politician will ever tax you.

you guys need to look into what Obama is spewing. because the top 5% of Americans start at 150k not 250k. it is also indisputable fact that the bottom 50% of Americans only pay 2.9% of the countries taxes.

so if Obama says tax cuts for 95% of americans, and then turns around and talks about 250k, he is either dumb? or blatently lieing? pandering? or misleading MOST of americans.

first of all, i never said that. second of all, i live in chicago, you live in summit county. which one of us do you suppose has a bigger poor population/more ghettos. i may not know it first hand, but ive certainly lived around it more than you.

See how those are entirely different things? 95% of Americans get a tax cut. Those under 250k will not see a tax increase. So, those between 150k and 250k may not pay less tax, depending on how their finances are set up (the source of your income, be it employment, business, rent, capital dispositions, interest, royalties etc etc etc affects the tax you pay), but they won't pay more, either. Okay? Okay.

you do realize how ridiculous your nitpicking is, so his percentages are off. its based on incomes not percentages. even if it was 150k who cares? they are still damn well off (and im not just saying that, if it was 150k it would affect my family)

increasing taxes at this point is only going to send us further into a recession. this is because consumer spending will drop which will fuck our economy in the ass.
 
will it? His plan only taxes the richest people in america, people that probably would not be THAT affected by it overall, and would continue to spend just as they do now. PLUS, tax cuts for the lower classes would most likely result in more spending by them.

this isnt getting into the moral aspect of it, (i realize people think differently on that) but purely from an economic standpoint i dont think it will really kill our economy.
 
Despite the McCain campaign talking points "why would you raise anyones taxes," he proposes to do just that. It's a matter of reading the fine writing on the wall. He is going to tax healthcare benefits which is a disaster, especially for union workers, who often receive an incredible healthcare plan.
 
who really gives a fuck if obama is a little bit more socialist than some of our previous presidents? most of the socialist countries in europe seem to be doing way better than we are.

What has he shown that he can do for our country. I agree with ATL on the first page. He is telling us all what we want to hear. Of course every candidate will tell us that, but he has NEVER even run his own business, served in the us military or shown and MAJOR leadership credentials. How do we know how someone will act under pressure if they have never done anything even close to receiving the pressure they will receive when in office.

at it's very core yes it is(collective ownership and distribution of EVERYTHING is equal and even, not just your wealth), but that wasn't how i was referring to it as. Your neighbor isn't gonna be entitled to start sleeping in your home just cause Obama is elected.

McCain is an avid supporter of de-regulation of the economy just like Bush, a free-market economy plan is the last thing we need right now.
 
If Obama was truly a socialist he would be proposing long term nationalization of industry assets, where the workers take over the means of production.
I'll leave it to your ritz-cracker sized brain to figure it out from there.
