The Official X-Games Pipe Finals Thread

How many times did the anouncers mention tanners name during the xgame broadcast. That was wack. I think sponsors and the network wanted tanner to get seven golds and the judging reflected that. Simon got robbed. again.
 
Tanner's second run was absolutely perfect and definitely deserved the win, but holy fuck Simon impressed me on his last run, especially the solidly grabbed 1260. So satisfied, but bad on Tanner for lecturing Simon in front of the camera.
 
i actually agree with the judging, tanner killed it for sure. i dont think dumont got jipped, tanners run was just rediculous.
 
glad to see simon earn his silver with that third run. tanner said it best straight to simon at the bottom of the pipe, "get a couple more hits in there and spin both ways..."

i'd have placed 'em: tanner, simon, andreas, joss, colby

scoring was a terrible joke, shameful

judging seemed pretty on to me...

love it or hate it amplitude is and should be a pretty big factor in a run... but its not the whole thing. thats why tanner won

Dumonts run was DOPE. But nothing against Tanner. Both went out and straight up killed it, it was fun to watch, and each of 'em were going huge. All in all id say a good comp, even though I wanted Simon in the end...
 
simon should have taken it his last run was insane but tanner's was pretty dope. but what a gay thing to tell simon at the end. "all you need to do is spin the other way..." pretty gay on tanners part.
 
Fuckin stoked on that. Tanner is in a league of his own. sick for Colby, shit was pretty legit, even if jossi didnt make it.
 
yeah tanner should have thrown down there at the end. i cant blame him though, wouldnt want to pull a lindsay jacobellis and make himself look like an idiot.
 
I had the volume turned down cuz I was talking to someboyd in the room... what did tanner do to simon at the bottom or something about lecturing or something?

wow! simons last run really impressed me compared to his other ones, it was actually worth the points it got. tanner was funny totally patronising him at the bottom, i doubt he even meant to.
 
^^na man thats good advice its exactly why he lost and if he got at least one more hit in it would be dumont all the way
 
That was sick. Overall It was a really good comp.

Pros

Great sking all around by everyone, some great stuff was throw down. The whiskey flip was insane, the 1260's as usual were ok and great variation from most riders. Simons first run really surprised me, I thought he wasn't going to be able to get back into it and get a solid run but his last one was great. 20'8 out of the pipe? Huge. I wanted Simon to win and was hoping to put the pressure on Tanner for a final run to make for some tense moments, but only a 91? Colby did awesome and so did Andreas and Pete. I thought Riddle would have done a bit better.

One of other great things was the fact Tanner mentioned the Olympics instead of throwin' down a crew symbol or some white wigger bullshit, great to see that. It seems like he cleaned up his act and represents sking a bit better.

Cons

What Tanner said to Simon at the end, spin both ways and more hits. Don't tell the man how to do it after you just placed over him. That would be very annoying.

Also the announcers were pretty bad, Jon and Shiller would have been really good at doing that and I think made it much more enjoyable. Also the broadcasting had some weird times when the sound went crazy from different clips or just stopped totally. I think during one of Riddles early runs there was no sound.

haha i was they ONLY one to predict colby west to be third place in the predictions...ha....Admit though Jossi's run was not a 5th place run.....and Simon 21 FT thats big(just spin the other way and i woulda won a new pair of skis
 
if simon had won with that run the shit storm would have never ended because pipe would just turn into who can boost the highest. Tanner deserved the win.. II'm not sure that Simon should have placed second. his last run was a huge crowd pleaser, but so are backflip to the people riding the lifts.
 
your right but i'm pretty sure he new it already. and it would make him feel really small.
 
Tanner totally deserved to win, he spun both ways, and had a more tech run than simon.

Although Simons run was sick as fuck, he just needs to spin both ways and he would've had it.
 
Tanner Deserved the Win

Simon didn't get robbed but he would obviously be disappointed

Jossi probably deserved a better score than 75 for his 3rd run, and Andreas was also a bit unlucky in his scoring.

On to Big Air.
 
maybee it was gay, but true. tanners run was better than dumont, less amplitude but way more technical. dumont did half of the hit tanner did, and didnt spin the other way. I though Jossi would have scored more on that last run...
