mike douglas is a pretty bad announcer... they need someone who doesnt do d-spins and japans off cliffs to announce a current halfpipe event.

simons run= best left sided run of all time. thats the prestige im awarding. no way was it better than t-hall, but ill give him that honour. an amazing effort
 
he does strike me as a bit like the dave mirra of skiing, he loves it but thinks of it as a job rather than a hobbie hes lucky to get payed for.

Bahahahha too bad the stock is only worth what people are willing to pay for it, and with X Games past it's not exactly going to go up...
 
you may find the price of ALL stocks will go up over time. SO making 17k today for a quality stock may mean you forego $30k in 4 weeks time if he throws down in the other comps to come. Dividends also get paid based on other factors than comp results.
 
That was weak shit to boo tanner and throw shit at him on his way down. Im not a huge Tanner fan, I prefer to root for the upcoming guys, but I will say that he threw down. The only reason those people were doing it is because of last year, which i will admit, i think Simon should have won, but Tanner had it this year. He had way more hits, spun both ways, grabbed well and varied his grabs, and while he may not have had the amplitude Simon had (which was huge), he was still getting a lot of air. But honestly, I think most of us know that Tanner had that one in the bag from the qualifying rounds. I was hoping Jossi would get up on the podium, he's a solid skier, and Pete had a sick last run until he lost it, I think he could have taken it if he stomped all of the hits on that last run, same with Andreas, I thought he'd get a better score with that last run, but there's always next year.
 
i really liked simons run, and thought it was equal to if not a tad better than tanners. it seemed like they had the whole contest already figured out though, that tanner was going to win. but the one thing that i really got sick of was all of the ass kissing the commentators did to tanner "well his run was great, but it just didnt have the fluidity of tanners" or "well he just didnt do it as good as tanner" or "tanner is about to break a record for most winter x gold" which i heard at least 30 times. but overall, i liked watching it, but thought that simon maybe should have won
 
anyone else think that andreas is MASSIVELY underappreciated in the world of pipe? i mean colby's run was solid and i like colby, but it was nothing special. andreas had 3 switch hits no? including the only 1st hit switch. but apparently that counts for shit.
 
tanner killed it, all you haters need

to watch and compare tanners run to simons. simon- 5 hits in a

gigantic 200+ superpipe, nearly same run but new grabs and instead of

a 5 first off threw a 9, he also threw same tail blunt twice in the

run. tanner- mixed up his whole entire run from last year, he even

got the grab on his 12 on his 2nd run, grabbed like every single

trick with a different grab. he spun like 2-3 hits liftside spinning,

he deserved it soo much more! oh and by the way tanner got in 7 hits,

and mixed up his run from last year, simon kept nearly the exact same

run

 
indeed, in my predictions i had him on the podium (as he should've been). i thought colby slayed, but andreas is definitely underrated
 
Im confused, what's all this talk about stocks and skiers? And yea, I felt like Andreas should have been up there, he had a sick last run, but the good thing about winter x is that it happens every year, so theres always next time.
 
totally...andreas just needs more amplitude and he will be a big competitior(not that he isnt) but i have a feeling he is goin to through it down in slope style...wats wit jossi's score....that was b/s
 
I agree, I think the judges were the huge factor in this event, they seemed to get too caught up in the Simon/Tanner rivalry when there were other skiers throwin down pretty hard. They may not have gone as big as Tanner and Simon, but Jossi and Andreas both deserved scores higher than they got.
 
i agree their runs were sooooo dope but the whole time im watching them im just thinking, GO BIGGER! if you look at a judging sheet im pretty sure amplitude is 25% of the scores
 
Like I said in a thread that has since been deleted, spinning both ways is KEY. It changes the dynamic of a run so much.

If you look at past runs of Dumont, his only rightside spin was only like 6-8 feet out, if that. Big difference.

It's 2008. Spinning one direction does not suffice. PERIOD
 
D-spin actually made a good point for once saying how the crowd doesnt know the difference of spinning both ways it all looks the same to them

both their runs were amazing but anyone who says simon should of won is ignorant . Spinning both ways in the pipe puts you at a different levl from the beginning , plus 2 more hits. I think simons last run probably should of scored a lil higher though
 
wow. The three people that should be up there would be Tanner, jossi and andreas. I dunno which order, but those three fersher.
