Simon has won more pipe comps than any other Pro skier including Tanner, he is def. one of the best. He just got 3rd at this X games, 2 and the last 2, 3rd the one before that and 2 other x games pipe golds.

As for slope he is always someone to look for and is a great skier, dumont cant jump? Are you kidding me? Watch any of his movie segs and tell me he cant jump, he has mad skills.

I can guarantee you that you will never be as good a skier as SImon is. BTW you hating on him is making you sound really e-tough you fag.

yeah man for sure. dont get me wrong, simon was ill. i just think JO should have beat him. Simon's landings were wayy backseat, Jon's were flawless. How can you have people judge the sport when they dont know what the fuck to look for. IMO, i think PK should have beat Simon in the first place.

But on a side note, how sick was Jon there. He had his gf on both sides of him. On his skis, and for real. Props to Jon for throwin down some sick shit
 
What bothers me about Simon doing a double front is that the big air event is not really a comp (there are only 4 skiers after all). So, if it is not a real comp, then it is really more of an exhibition for everyone who is not part of our sport to show what is going on in it. For him to waste that opportunity on a trick that doesn't represent us is very disingenuous, and even a bit selfish. I know that he is just a competitive guy and knew that it would win it for him, but he is a good enough jumper that he could have done something new and still won.

So what if Simon won. All I hear is waaahh this waaahhh that. This is democracy people. Elitist skiers need not apply. Its not like the progression was absent but this is a popular vote. People see what they like. Simon played his cards right and won. The only losers are the people on this board unfortunately.

and it would have been sweet if tanner was in it, then it could have been a double back vs. double front final, lol.
 
I doubt anyone in the skiing community will take this result seriously, including the pros, but I'm sure Jon and PK are pissed off about it, it's still a medal/exposure/impressing sponsors and getting more money.

Simon should have tried something more interesting like a smooth switch 12 mute, that would at least be a legit win, the double front is goofy, it doesn't look cool like say T-Rice's double back 180. He can for sure do 12 and it would be landable and more legit to claim the win he should have been expecting.

1. Why do I want people who know absolutely nothing judging a sport that I love and have grown up with?

2. Simon DID throw back the progression of skiing by making these people think a double front flip is a cool trick.

3. The entire Big Air/Next Trick events need to be scrapped and if they decide to go for the events next year, they need to be rethought from the ground up.

4. It is a shame to see our sport's biggest event turned into an American Idol pop drama instead of an actual sporting event.

5. JON AND PK ABSOLUTELY KILLED IT!

Jon's switch 10 in first round, just a little dub corked; final round perfect sideways dub cork 10, just a little inverted. IMO, best trick of the night and prob the best trick I have EVER seen on a jump. The bag of tricks Jon has is unmatched by anybody and the skills he has to do exactly what he sees in his mind are amazing.

PK's both jumps, sick as fuck. The slight dub cork 12 was one of the dirtiest tricks in X. I give it to Jon over PK because I know that is really the only way PK does a 12, while Jon can prob do at least 5 variations of a switch natural 1080.

Overall, an amazing night ruined by Simon Dumont and American Idol.
 
when simon threw the double front he showed he cares wayy more about him getting a stupid x-games medel than the sport progressing and getting more popular. im not saying that the judging isnt screwed up but simon isnt being helpfull atall to the sport, and acted really immature.
