I like these type of threads over on TGR. You can post up your stoke photos, stories, videos, ect....
I'll get it started with a little video of my first tracks this season. Testing out this new GoPro HD I got. I know its kinda lame to make a 3 minute video about skiing 4 inches of snow, but I had fun! And don't worry, there's PLENTY more to come this season!
without further ado....

So yeah, use this thread to share your winter 2010/2011 STOKE!

Aaron, my saga is not here yet, obviously.. My skis, boots, and bindings are waiting on layaway at mcus for another week or so...so i guess i don't have it YET. will definitly post everything up when it comes though!

i just traded my old jacket for it.....

(*insert rage*)

and henry that design is fucking awesome

you should make a company, haha

this this this this this. If I read one more thing about a Saga suit or what your wearing I will stab you in the face with my ski pole. If you care what we think about your suit then post a pic/video of yourself shredding gnar with it.
carry on... :)

if i were henry i would limit the release of that epicness

but ima ask him if i can put it on a sweater

Alright aaron.. you should do it. (: ha, umm the ski swap is the Nov. 6 & 7.. i'm pretty sure, but don't hold me to that.. i'm just tryin to remember what the guy at McUs was sayin.

fuckin radness mac that is stoke right there. I wish i did that today too. just shredded the rail and a couple boxes

Hows the drive up? like snow on the road kind of thing? I have a car and really don't feel like mooching off my friend this weekend for his subi. Just want to know if its really drivable. This just made me want to finish my rails. I'll try to get some rails up and ready by mid November when jibbing is officially on. Right now I just have a Green tube, looking to expand to get some more bars, and i have some extra pvc laying around to make a box. Any other ideas on what to build just ask me.

The road was a little slick...you could prob make it up with a car...but there was def slush/slow on some corners that would be sketch if your driving a little too fast/suck at driving/dont have a manual transmission for downshifting and rev matching...but it's do-able forshure, just be cautious since there is no sand/salt on the roads yet either....
And, I'm kinda over the whole rail shit...I hit a box today and realized how gay rails and shit are....kinda boring to me now...but maybe I'm getting old? haha...I just like to actually ski on snow...so I'll prob be up there again tomorrow hiking up to the top (forgot water today) so yeah....but get a long enough PVC pipe and it would be fun to session

Ok, cool. I see what you mean by just skiing snow. I watched a bunch of backcountry edits this summer and jibbing just kinda lost its edge. you know? Like backcountry is always going to change and be different and has a new level of difficulty. Don't get me wrong i love doing park but powder seems more chill and lax. I blow at snow driving so i may wait until roads clear up. I mean i drive a 91 corolla I'm pretty much boned on those slushy turns.

bro do you wanna just go pound back some nattys and maybe toss a few lax balls around instead of skiing tomorrow, it will be totally chill

*fist pump*

hitch hike! thats what I did when I was a freshmen in college, works like a charm, and you meet interesting people haha...
But yeah....dont get me wrong either....when I land a smooth rail trick it feels good....but skiing powder is just on another level, you can't even compare the two haha...Def get better at skiing drops, pillows, trees, ect then hit the park....being able to actually ski is what really matters in the long run....Just takes a little more effort and commitment...My brother was the one pushing me into the backcountry of Sugar Bowl and Homewood in Tahoe when I was young...made me literally cry on multiple occasions because we had to hike in waist deep snow for like a mile....I though we were gonna die haha....but now every time we talk I give him all the credit for pushing me and showing me whats out there with time, effort and patience....

Not really, seeing that your probably being sarcastic. But whatever. After seeing that edit I really want to get on the slopes.

pretty soon I'm gonna get skins, probe, beacon, ect and get out there more seriously....I just don't have any friends who are actually that committed to hiking and shit....you def. cant be doing that shit alone haha....but one day I'll be out there....prob this year actually....might gotta make some new friends who are down to drop the $$ on backcountry tools....would be so legit. I'll give park skiing a few more years before I'm done for good haha

i really want to get skins and slack around bogus and slowly work my way into the backcountry with buying appropriate gear/ learning how to use it

da fuck is turn 5? I'm not from these parts....
but I think me and a couple friends are gonna hike AND BE REAL SKIERS SKIING REAL MOUNTAINS /thall
and then set up this big long huge thick black........pvc tube.

I could be wrong, but I think it's where kids set up some jibs and put a little rail run together. I went to something like that preseason off of some turn.

well I know theres the access road that has had rails and stuff on it for the last few years...but Ive never heard it called turn 5....
either way Im stoked winter is here and were all gettn out there on the snow! Post up your shit when you can, let all get stoked for an epic season!!!
