The difference between republicans and democrats

Okay, I get you. The

question is down the road, when will the government start deciding who

get what aid. If you want to go to law school but there's too many

lawyers, will they say no you can't have money for that, but you can get

money for going to nursing school. The 4% I'm getting right now from the fed. is outstanding, it's half the reason I want to go to grad school. One of my good friends has Bachelor's in history, owes around 100k, and is employed at my uncle's Subway shop. He's got no choice but to get a Master's since it's history, but for me I could have an A.S. in Media-Comm., a B.S. (lol the BS gets me B.S Bachelor's of Business Admin.) and a Master's in whatever for between 40-50k. I know this year was different when I signed my MPN and other things, in years passed I never had to sign off on paying back all financial aid on years past if I got busted with weed this year.

I read at an eighth grade level thank you very much!
Just by using the term Obamacare you show you have no inclination to look at something from a neutral standpoint. Saying we are a bigger country so it won't work is not a logical argument. That is speculation, it doesn't hold up.
Let me help you out. On a UN survey we rank very poor amongst healthcare cost per capita to the person and quality. This is called a fact. Please show me how our healthcare works and give me a reason why we are ranked 37th in quality of healthcare as observed by a neutral researcher yet our amount of money spent per individual is much higher than say Japan.
Where has Obama wiped his ass with the constitution anymore than other presidents you neglect to mention? This stimulus package you mention was initiated by another president which you don't speak nearly as poorly of because of your political bias.
My little argument you don't get is just asking you to back your argument with a logical statement instead of repeating talking points from people you identify yourself with ideologically. The problem with what you are saying is that there is absolutely nothing backing it up but your negative feelings towards a person of a different ideological background. You are using that excuse to disagree with him instead of analyzing issues. Thus you fall into the trap most Americans do and what Casual and I are so nicely trying to explain to you as a fallacy towards intelligent thought.

And that is what worries me the most.

And to the guy Gnartron just bent over a table and forceabley raping....

If you are 15 now that means you were probably 5 when Bush got elected.... stop saying what your parents always say and shut the fuck up and come back in 5 years.

I'm well aware that the country you live in, just like mine, is inhabited by its fair share of morons. what you're point ?

im too tired other than to contribute this shoddily shopped picture of the man himself. and lol at the 15 year old who got raped on the last page.

Overall I'm a conservative. I like the "if it isn't broken don't fix it" ideal, I Sony like having a larger central government, I prefer to have a little more going on in local governments.

You were fucking 5 when Bush was elected and 13 when his second term ended.

You are not nearly old enough to understand anything other than what your parents say about it.

People keep going "It's all Bush's fault".. well, Bush was working with a Democratic Majority in both the Sentae and House during his second term which was when the country went downhill. So sorry, but the Dems were right there along for the ride and helped it turn into a downhill spiral.

Mr.Panda to go one step further, people say how great our economy was when Clinton was in office. I'm pretty sure he had both a republican senate and house.

Thing was Clinton was willing to work with people. He was willing to compromise.

Bush essentially did those last 2 years of his term and the economy got driven into the ditch. Obama seems unwilling to compromise and is taking the car out of the ditch and lining it up for a run at one of those 2000foot cliffs in Norway.

i say we get rid of this whole party shit. Too many people vote republican or democrat on the ballot because of their party and don't bother to learn about the fucking issues. Independent ftw.

Our healthcare system is really easy to solve all we have to do is cut the fucking defense budget in half. Why the fuck do we use as much money as the rest of the world for guns, I would love 300 billion A YEAR to help the health care system. Second we need to attack the pharmaceutical companies instead of the insurance companies. The pharmaceutical companies make shit expensive because they can, they made it, they patented it, they own it. Insuarance compaines have shitty profit maragins but they get all the flak.

Link to I.O.U.S.A, it's a condensed version of the documentary cut down to about 32 minutes. It's a good watch if you've got some free time. All about our growing national debt, deficit spending, unpaid for promises in our current health care system, and so on. It came out in 2008 I think so it's not able to address socialized health care but there's still a lot of good info in there from some key political figures.

We most definitely do not need to get rid of political parties. People just need to learn to get rid of their party affiliation and vote for the best candidate.

In today's US, very few people vote in local elections or participate in local politics whatsoever. Most people can't name their Reps, Senators, Treasurers, Councilmen, etc. These people are not shaping national culture. Sarah Palin is. Palin has more influence on the general beliefs, attitudes, etc. (like Rush and co.) than a majority of those presently tasked with legislating.
She may not be voting things into law, but if she influences those that do, or more realistically, influences those that elect those that do, she's having an effect. And, I don't think anyone would suggest that there's anything about her that makes her exceptionally qualified to be in the position she's in....even if she's unemployed.
But, the spirit of what you say is true. It's worthless to fixate a bunch of ire and hate towards her.

Those were prosperous days, that's for sure.
I think having one party control all three is a bad thing, and it's clear in looking back that we've done best with more parity and a tangible minority voice.

My problem is that the local gov'ts seem to do jack shit for, well, anything. It's like they are there but they don't seem to do anything.

Like, I went to a City Council meeting... wanna know what they talked about? Which light posts to place the hanging planters on.... I think I sat and listened and never went back.

i think america needs to swallow the republican and democrat parties. they both are corrupt in some way. we need a centrist state of mind that attacks the negative issues that each party carries

See, I would argue that that's EXACTLY the sort of stuff worth talking about.
What's more likely to yield results? Bitching on the internet in a vague amorphous way about the state of "things"? Or being vigilant and engaging local politicians about issues in your community that have an immediate effect on your quality of life?....such as lighting?
I hear what you're saying to an extent, and it's also important to be in tune with national politics, too. However, I think that some of the most opinionated and expressive folks about national politics are really just celebrity junkies and care about politics like they do who will win American Idol...even if they aren't aware of it. Those people need to engage politics in a real, and physical way and attempt to exact the changes they feel are for the betterment of this country, their state, their city, their town, or their fucking neighborhood and not just regurgitate the rhetoric of political entertainers and claim to be "into politics".

It had nothing to do with the lights themselves though is the thing... it had to do with which light post do we use as a city to hang a hanging plant from....... The whole meeting I was doing a combo of these things:

16lkbjnjpg.gif

It was one of those deals I was sitting there the whole time thinking about other things they could talk about (the pothole in town the keeps blowing out tires on the smaller cars... or the fact that one of the Elementary schools got condemned and the city couldn't afford to repair it... and these people were worried about where to put the hanging plants)

I was really just making an example, and not being critical of your disinterest, which sounds like was justified.
I think I made my point though, and what I said was valid.

You're an ignorant fuck. Go back to mommy and daddy who tell you how all the big mean black people are too lazy to work and need the gov't to pay for them to live, you fucking moron. The fact that we have welfare is what makes this country so great. We allow anyone no matter what to have to chance to help themselves, but we do that by first helping them. People like you are the ones that make me want to fucking kill half of America. If you honestly think that your life is being altered in any way because of welfare, you need to get fucking educated... By the way I don't identify myself as a republican or a democrat.

I'm not here to pick a fight, but there is no doubt welfare is abused in this country. Hell, people who are here illegally receive welfare through anchor babies. It has it's downs, that's for sure. It also has its ups, just as you stated.

You're totally right, but nothing's perfect, and in my eyes everyone deserves a fighting chance whether they try to abuse it or not.

I repeat:
The problem with your post is emotion > rationale. This is one of the things fox/msnbc is so good at catering to. They highlight political talking points in order to justify correctness and suppress people's rationale. For example, what you said about the welfare slugs that sit on unemployment and have 6 kids. That directly pertains to an emotionally charged argument. If you were rational about it you would say hey I wonder how much of this money is coming from my hard working family's money. Then thinking about it would arrive you to the conclusion that it is so minimal it is barely considerable.
This is why I despise the tea party and Obama's campaign of "change". They appeal only to the emotions and not the intellect of people which is quickly diminishing amongst a sea of political commentators and entertainment purpose politicians.
Yes there needs to be reform in welfare. However we need to look at it rationally instead of this huge emotional wave of getting upset over welfare slugs and illegal immigrants taking welfare (which is very minimal).

Well, you bring up a good point, but I really don't believe someone who popped out six kids and is now sitting on the couch totally deserves welfare. Don't get me wrong, I'm a nice guy and believe everyone does deserve a chance, but they should not be living off of welfare. Is it a small amount of money out of my family's pocket? Hell yeah. Are they the only person doing this? Hell no. A line needs to be drawn somewhere. As far as illegal immigration goes, I don't care how many or how little do use welfare, but it seems wrong to me considering that they are illegal. U.S. taxes should go to U.S. citizens.

They don't deserve welfare. That falls under my reform statement. However the scenario you are describing is a scapegoat for the abolition of welfare altogether and that's exactly where it leads and the people heading the reaction from the population use to stir up support for abolishing welfare.
Again it is wrong if they don't contribute taxes but look at my point above. This point is dramatically overstated to make you feel angry and being cheated so a stricter immigration policy and butting heads results instead of thinking logically for a solution to stop it. The democrats want to do nothing and the republicans want to shoot em all up!
Therefore we find no solution and why the tea party/pelosi agenda is a dangerous political situation. It's all reactionary. Reactionary is a horrible way to go about politics. It fucked us over in international policy and we still don't realize it. If only we could learn from our mistakes.

That seems to be the biggest problem in current day America. I'm right there with you on that one.

Want to know what I hate politics and why I'll never vote? Just read through this thread. It's a mess. And this is on a skiing website.

How does not wanting to get involved make me a dumbass? I honestly don't know enough about politics to just vote for someone and I'd rather not spend my life worrying about it. I plan to be successful and I'm not going to get caught up in something that doesn't really affect me THAT much. Who do you normally see complaining about politics? Poor people. I'm beyond that.

And inb4 "You're stuck up/arrogant" comments.

That is quite literally the range of emotions, in order, that I went through. You couldn't be more stupid.

I enjoy weighing in on political threads from time to time, but this thread is way too dildos. Seriously. This thread was fucking dildos from the original post.

Yeah.... and all Democrats are pot smoking, homosexual, homeless loving, wellfare using, smelly vegetarian fuckheads too.

See, that's why this thread failed cause your OP was incredibly skewed.
