Switch Lip or Switch Tails...?

Which do you prefer and why? I've heard from others that they're the same difficulty-wise, but for some reason I find tails terrifying and lip fairly easy... anyone have any tips to make tails easier/less scary?

switch tails is definatly harder ,

I like swit tails better though it looks really good for some reason

Switch lip is easier for most people. Your vantage point is closer to the rail, and as soon as you learn the pop and pause, you face the rail with your front so it's more like getting on regular.

i think switch tails is easier. Feels weird at first cause you cant really see whats going on, but once you get comfortable with it its easy to move to bigger shit.

Switch tails is terrifying for me yet switch lip is not really an issue at all for bigger features.

i think switch tails is easier but lip is generally less scary. neither are hard tho you just gotta commit and have a nice controlled pop.

Tails over is harder because you're blind the entire time, I think they're more fun, but if you don't get the pop right there's no way out, you pretty much always catch your tail on the rail and get flipped over the rail (or onto the rail). Switch Toes (Lip) is easier cause you can spot the rail the whole time and it's more of a natural pop and there is a way out if you come up short on the pop. I think tails over just looks smoother and more natural than toes over, personally.

i've heard a couple people say this, i just try to stagger my stance as much as possible to see as much as i can, then on the pop look for the end of the rail and lift your heels as much as possible. gets you to land balanced and looking to where your going, but if you freak out and try to see where your landing on the rail too early its gonna put your heels into the rail because you'll spin too soon.

I didn't even realize people might find lip easier than tail, i go tails all day and have only tried lip a few times.. tails is way easier for me

It depends of the height of the rail. If the rail is low, then switch lip is easier but if the rail is pretty high, switch tails is easier.

so for tails, do you spot over your inside shoulder on the approach and then look over the other way once you pop, or do you look all the way around from your outside shoulder the whole time?

depends on the rail I guess, but I am a lot more confident with switch lipslides, especially if it's not a particularly low rail.

Switch Tails you look over your outside shoulder...so if you slide right foot forward, you approach from the left side of the rail (well, left side if you were going forward, so it's the right side going switch), looking over your right shoulder. So you're looking over the shoulder farthest from the rail.

Switch Toes is the opposite, looking over the shoulder closest to the rail.

i find lip much easier, but i got to practice lip so i can move on to 270s. i imagine switch lip 270 on to high rail horrible

Switch tails was the hardest trick for me to learn. Took 2 days of hiking a down corrugated trying it every hit to finally get it. I have both ways, I can switch lip onto pretty much anything. Tails is definitely terrifying, but they are both equal as far as difficulty for me (I haven't down tails on too many features). I want to get full switch runs in next year getting tails and lip onto every feature.

Switch hits are alot more fun in general.

yeah, i'm not 100% confident with hitting stuff switch, though I'm getting there with sw lip, and it's just like doing a trick off a rail versus just straight sliding it. It's more challenge, and more reward when you do it.

switch lip. So much easier. Once you learn it you can do it both ways onto anything, then its switch lip 2's on, which is arguably the most satisfying trick to stomp ever.
