Is getting really really bad at my college campus and the local high school. any one elses campuses or schools starting to get really infected?

its getting pretty rampant here at Montana State.

im 99% sure i already had it, and it wasnt bad at all.

i've heard of like 3 kids who've had it at my school
& i went to the doctor today because i was wicked sick in the morning and everyone in the doctor's office was being forced to wear those flu masks hahah, like it wasn't a choice
it was awful and disgustingbut i don't have swine

My buddy goes to Miami Oxford in Ohio, and as of a month and a half ago his school had over 3000 positive cases of H1N1. He had it, along with his GF. She was in the hospital for a week. He said he was just sick as shit for about 4 days, then he started feeling better. Colleges are going to be hit the hardest obviously. I hope I dont get it, Im not really that worried about it. Wash your hands often, and dont play beer pong lol.

I had it a couple weeks ago. Not a big deal, I felt shitty for a couple days, stayed home, slept a lot, and I was back to normal within a week.

my little brother on had 3 other kids in his class one day last month ( his class has 23 and he is in 4th grade )

I think I had it. I don't know the symptoms of it, so maybe I didn't have it. I was really, really tired, with like almost a 39 C fever(Don't know what that is in fahrenheit for all you Americans) for two days, had a gnarly cough for about 5 days, and then I was all good.

a few schools had to shut down around here
at my school there were like 30-35% of the kids gone one day

oh wow, thats embarassing.
I had it two days before i had a 38 hour plane trip to rwanda. i just drank a shitton of acai and i was fine, shits weak.

I'm not getting it either. I'm not gonna help pave the way for a super virus that's gonna wipe out the world because it evolved to be immune to antibiotics and vaccines. Humans as a species are getting more vulnerable to diseases because there is less of a need for immunities against many diseases. Imagine if we stopped taking antibiotics or vaccines.

holy shit 3000!?!? wow and yeh im not really worried either, i dont think im getting vaccinated its not that bad in my town

i don't know what the deal is. i don't know anyone who has it. i have although been sick for almost a month, but no real symptoms, just off and on kind of thing...aside from that i got a pamphlet in the mail and i just sighed once again at how seemingly ridiculous this is to me.

it better, 175 kids in the middle school alone out today. thats out of like 650... not sure how many in the high school. it's gettin realll bad around here.

yeah brando flcc is real bad too. its gross.
and for everyone else i know its not the end of the world when you get it but it still is something htat you dont want and should take some precaution about not getting .

i didnt mean like it was nothing at all. i was sick, but it wasnt like i was about to die or anything. ive had worse....

ummm excuse me? i mean i agree its not as awful as people make it out to be, but where the fuck are you getting those numbers from

wooah swedish immune systems. my school had some shit goin around, not sure if its swine but i threw up and felt like shit for 2 days then was totally fine.

I'm getting the vaccine here in Australia to come to America. everyone going over on our or team or from our school has had it very strongly recommended.

It's not a pandemic because of the numbers it has killed, they're only a little big higher than the normal flu. It is a pandemic becuase it is targetting a different type of people, being pregnant woman and healthy people it is having hte most affect on.

the people i know who have had it said it's just like kinda sick for a few days, not violently ill while puking up your own organs until you die

most people dont even puke. a lot of people havent even gotten the fever. its a very odd bug.

really thought i had it until this afternoon. i had all the symptoms minus vomiting and my campus health services made sure i didnt go to class until i was cleared. turns out i have strep throat instead.

so many people at my school are out because they are sick. only a few though have been because of the swine flu, me included. people at my school are panicking about the swine flu but yet so many more people are getting sick with the regular flu.

About 90% of you probably just have the normal flu. Don't bother with the vaccine either, i'd rather fight it off naturally than take thermerisol in my blood, which i've already done. I started to get it and just got good sleep and took a lot of vitamin C and other herbs and beat that shit in one day.

that's from this article which talks about a CBS case study where they tested a few thousand people in various states and the highest rate, in florida, out of all the people diagnosed with H1N1, only 17% of them actually had it: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/10/21/cbsnews_investigates/main5404829.shtml

wtf is the government/media trying to do with us? wake up and stop listening to the propaganda. there's flu's every year, this one is just more catchy.

haha, that's because most people dont' actually have H1N1. most have the regular flu or a bad cold and the doctor diagnosed them wrong or the person just assumed they had swine flu because of the media hype.

a high school close to mine is shutting down for a week because of it. i can only hope mine does too. and the sweet thing is we dont have to make it up at the end of the year!
