Henri Immonen is super crazy,Paul got some sweet urban rails and Zak blow my mind.

Henri was nuts but so much of his shit was landing super sketch (read backslaps, slugging it out, ect) that I couldn't help but think they should not have rewarded that.

Paul is a good homie of mine and I'm super stoked to see him in the Semi Finals again, dude is one of the best in the Midwest right now.

Zak is super sick, been a fan for a couple years now.

Stoked to see the rest of the field, should be banger!

Double post but just wanted to add that Paul has mad rail skills. Maybe not this year, but let him progress on urban rails and he may win superunknown.

Henri's was pretty garbage in my opinion. I really hope I never see a glorified gymnast who cant stomp a landing riding for level one.

All good except I didn't like Henri's too much. I agree, landings were horrid and it was all future spin stuff, not a whole lot of style. Tom and Paul were really good, they were the best imo. Zak is wicked good but I'm not so sure he's super unknown. Anyways, guess that's why these guys were semifinalists hahah

Marik is love, Marik is life. The first rail still blows my mind, holy shit.

Thanks for the love dudes! Much appreciated. My first shot on that crazy rail is nothing compared to how my boi Jon Fox greased her... you just wait till you see his!

Henri's was so unbelievably ugly I can't believe it was a semi-finalist

Sometimes you gotta appreciate people who are loose and send it. Yeah some of his shots and landings were suspect but that switch 10 was sick and he's going for it. I 2 as excited Watchung it because you never knew what was going to happen next.

It was definitely entertaining, level 1 just normally doesn't reward this type of video and I wouldn't want to see it in their movies. I would put it as an honorable mention.

How is zak sponsored by Liberty and Saga and still can't catch a break in a movie? Seriously. This dude shouldn't be entering super unknown. He should already be in the movies

My vote goes for Paul but imo Zaks urban is just insane, i love his skiing. And yea, Hennri was hucking hard but the landings were sloppy.

I don't know what's wrong with you people. I would SO much rather watch somebody doing insane shit that absolutely no one else is doing than watch a solid skier do perfect cork 9 blunts and stomp cleanly. Henri's video was straight up entertaining, and it shows that he is clearly thinking about skiing differently than most of the guys out there. He's doing stuff no one else is even considering, and I don't think that deserves the ridicule of a community that supposedly supports creativity. It's just creativity in a way that most people aren't used to.

I loved Henri's creativity but the fact that sooo much of it was backslapped or slugged out took away from the overall appeal. Look at it this way, would you want to watch Real Skifi or think that theyre good if they didn't land their shit cleanly? Probably not. You can do crazy shit but if it's not clean then it's not appealing to me.

its soooo crazy to me that people are down with henri's that was the wackest video ive ever watched. i get it he does wild stuff but why would you want to watch that if its all terribly ugly. I struggled watching the video. i struggled bad

Kellan Baker, Henri Mustonen, Zak Mouseau, Thomas Aubry were our favorites. Hammer tricks and sick style.

Clearly I seem to be in the minority opinion here, but I thought Henri's was absolutly filthy. Don't get me wrong, all the others were awesome but Henri's definitely got me more stoked. He sends the revert to switch backflip off the knuckle at :23 seconds. Plus I think it would be real cool to see the contrast in next years Level 1 Flick. Imagine watching a crazy tech Kai part then watching this kid hucking triple frontflips off huge jumps. Could be cool IMO

I thought the edit was pretty rad but I don't think he's a good fit for Level 1. I mean, the whole philosophy behind their last movie was "less is more."

All the videos being released are "semi-finalists" aka they didn't get picked for the super unknown finals. I think they might have a wild card or vote? i can't remember.

Shit my bad haha. Now I'm even more excited to see the actual finalists though

Yeah, there's a wild card thing for all the semifinalists, just like last year

Exactly. They did Sunny, then Partly Cloudy. Soooo when you think about it, this year it's probably going to be "More." I'm expecting triples and 6 pretz 6 throughout the movie.

Nah but actually I agree. My current favorites are Paul and Simon.

Are people seriously complaining about henri backslapping? He only backslaps twice in the edit and they are both on triples, thats insane.

All I gotta say on this is that Newschoolers had one vote out of many, but man there was some fire going on here. This was a hard one to judge.

Some talent is definitely out there. :)

henri's was the most original and imo best

I'm with you... everyone else's seemed a little dainty or something by comparison. It's like watching a Hood Crew flick & then putting on some... other shit.

Henri's was SO SICK. Seeing something like that is so refreshing considering the seemingly endless stream of amazingly clean technical rail skiers who are often the finalists here. That kid just SENT and went for it. Sure, maybe it wasn't the cleanest, but you can just tell he is out to send it because its fun and its what he does. I'd kill to see him be a finalist and just throw DOWN at the SuperUnknown session this year. L1 is probably looking for someone different to film with, but just to see him thrown down with everyone else would be ILL.

I don't think Level 1 would really need another rail skier.

They already have Magnus, LSM, Will and Khai, who are mostly known for their amazing rail skills.

I love watching Super Unknown every year, but this year has got me thinking that originality is gone again in skiing. I understand Urban is taking over and incredibly difficult logistically, but I never thought I would find myself asking...

DO KIDS EVEN HIT JUMPS ANYMORE?

I like Paul but honestly it didn't stand out to me. Henri stood out the most because of how aggressive he was skiing, and would add contrast to the other Level 1 riders. I couldn't tell you who i liked the best tho, field is just too stacked

It doesn't make sense to me that people are calling out Henri's landings but not Zak's. Yes, Henri's are sloppy, but not that much more than Zak's (other than one or two true backslaps); Zak's landings are really pizza'd and really rub me the wrong way, despite my love of his in-air style.
