Superunknown VIII Finalist Released one by one

Gaute's air game is so much cleaner than any of the other guys...Seeing as Level1 has grip of rail slayers already, I definitely think he would add a lot to the team...I must admit though, Torvinen's 3rd to last trick and last trick are the best of any of the edits.
 
really? i see edits that are on par with these guys all the time in top rated vids.

Its all more or less the cookie cutter same urban then breck jumps. Atleast torvinen had a crazy banger trick thrown in.

nah nothing to do with breck folks killing it. I guess ill just say this: I really feel bad for the judges who had to watch all the videos of the same thing for hours on end with very few fresh and original moments.
 
Superunknown isn't on the right path.. it's not normal that half of the finalists in a contest called ''superUNKNOWN'' are actually known and got fairly big sponcers.. It's like the king of style contest!
 
All the edits have been good so far, but Morello killed it for sure. His style is sick and he slayed the urban. 2 sev onto the bridge rail and the Carleton quad kink? retarded.

Typical east coaster not a lot of jumps, but that's only because jumps are lacking in this neck of the woods.
 
biased much haha. But seriously, that quad kink is such an insane rail, probably one of the biggest/scariest in ottawa. Not sure how jumps are lacking, his rodeo 9 and switch rodeo 7 were dirty, so much style!
 
I don't think that was a criticism of him more of the jumps around where he lives " the jumps are lacking IN HIS NECK OF THE WOODS" but I think we all agree the morello's was really tight

ya i do. they make jack shit for pay, they have to spend long cold nights filming, and dont get to ski everyday.

meanwhile i have the opportunity to make mucho dinero, and ski almost whenever i want. plus i dont have to watch the same edit with the same type of skier for hours, upon hours.

but then again i have never been the artsy type, so i never understood why filming would be so much fun for some people.

 
youve got a really bad mindset towards things if thats what you think. Think they give a fuck about pay? As long as it supports them and they get to do what they love everyday thats probably good enough. There always involved in the ski industry and im sure thats why they continue to push level 1 productions.
 
Are you kidding me?, that edit was so good, clean editing, sick filming, good skiing, i really enjoyed the last one.
 
Really, really subpar, when taking some of those crazy Honorable Mentions into account. If it were just an edit, very good, but not a SU winner for me.
 
jumping was really stylish and rails looked good at first, but don't put 10 shots of you doing stock tricks on a mellow keystone rail in your superunknown vid. I Agree with guy above, great edit but not a SU contender

just want to say i thought that edit was sick too, i was just saying only the skiing matters. not hating or anything.
 
people weren't saying he's a bad skier, just that it wasn't anything special compared to the other entries... I mean he did only have one banger trick.
 
It seems pretty wack that everyone is saying that he shouldn't have made cause even though he has sick style he didn't do hard enough tricks, wasn't style what brogan won it on, something a lot of people were hyped about. Its also interesting when it seems like so many on ns claim to be all about style yet are hating on him cause he didn't have big enough tricks
 
great, i get to be the first to say how dissapointed i was with todays entry, jens johnson.if that is considered finalist material then this comp has declined rapidly from only a couple years ago when all the finalists were contreversal and throwing ground-breaking shit. the only decent trick jens landed he clamied before he even landed, no doubt that took 500 tries.

But this did not belong. I've seen better edits (more 'stylish', better landings, less flailing, more technicality, better grabs) that didn't even make the Top Rated than this entry.
