I could argue that it came down to the knownness of the rider, berman was at joi, so was niklas, he did his switch double and berman was like "FUCK thats sick i wanna film that!" it helps when berman can see more than just the video, he obviously saw something in niklas at joi.
 
not really. they saw him ski in sweden, and thought he deserved it. remember this is an investment for them, so while it may not be fair, berman getting to see him do sick doubles on full sized jumps definately influenced the decision.
 
Well almost everyone was sponsored that was a finalist. And did you know who he was before this comp? Sounds pretty unknown to me.
 
Man there were so many crazy entries this year. This kid kills it along with lots of the other guys who entered. It wouldve been so hard to choose. Props.
 
Another T-Wall/Henrik/Brogan/you name it copy. I mean he is definiatly sick, but in my opinion Level 1 needed something different. This is certainly no hate against Niklas Ericsson, because I really really respect his skills and his style, I just feel like Level 1 has already enough of it.

Niklas would have made it anyways. I am also sure some of the other submissions will make it in the near future.

Oh and one last sentence: Please drop the G Suit and the Magic Suit. It just looks awful, especially combined.

and i see people saying that like mcchesney or bergeron or too known but i dont care , i will want to see level1s movie 10times more if its someone i know then someone i have no idea and who has not a special personality¸

i feel like he is insane , vry nice style . but overplayed . im always gangsta and i love it but level1 has enough of G's . seriously there cant only be G parts in a movie.
 
yes there can. movie producers can have any kind of segments they want, despite what kids on newschoolers think.

Wow, who would have guessed eheath would be butthurt over his buddy not winning? Call it questionable, blame it on JOI, props for good sportsmanship dude.
 
Congrats Niklas! I love this kid's jump style, and I (like maaany have said) think his double flat is maybe the best looking double anyone is doing. It looks like the double that I think Bibby does in Turbo...except Bibby landed on his head. haha.
I'm also pumped that it was something of an under dog pick. I really do believe this kid is an "unknown" who may have not gotten the recognition he deserves otherwise. Obviously, there were plenty of brilliant entries, and several deserving winners...I don't envy Berman & co's position in making the call.
Best of luck to those that didn't take it, and hopefully you other guys get an opportunity to film with some other crew because I'd love to see it.
 
They still have a lot of slaying BCriders like Steele Spence and Travis Redd. Congratz to Niklas! Before this season he was Superunknown even here in Sweden, so this time he can really claim the title!
 
80% of park skiers and 95% of those entrants can be described by those criteria, what did you expect?~
 
he's a really good rider, its just that he has that generic style you can see anywhere else, level 1 already has a million people in their park shoots who can provide the same thing if not more, they needed someone with more creativity and originality.
 
Not for movies, I never pay attention to which direction people are spinning outside of comps. Sure unnatural spins are more impressive, but they pretty much look the same~
 
hes stylish for sure.. but 14 jumps in his super unknown and all 14 spinning left? you gotta mix it up atleat a little bit..
 
I couldn't agree more. I am wondering how berman made a decision off a video with 7 ski shots? I mean yes that double is dirty but? really. Oh well i guess. He is sick nonetheless
 
doesn't look too unknown. wearing the magic suit; definitely sponsored. also it looked like a JOI jump. kid is NOT superunknown
 
At one end im SO stoked a forigner took it, On the other, im not so stoked that henrik harlaut pretty much just won superunknown if you catch my drift...now bash me
 
i feel like that op nose grab flat/ double flat is pretty innotative. def his own style. I think this kid will kill it.
but it is getting hard to tell riders apart since that ALL WEAR THE G-SUIT.
Please solomon, make more of a variety of outerwear, please.
 
for once i agree with eheath...i mean this guy has style but still i saw some edits where kids were throwing down in the park AND back country....its still a shame that Pothier some how got looked over
 
he was a good choice. he also has an uncanny resemblence to henrik ! apart from the g-suit, black tall tee, bracke park his style is sooo similar. just watch his takeoff at 0:23-30 in his superunknown edit, and his general rail skiing
