Sunday River this weekend.

The park isn't too bad but there are some things they really need to work on. Not every rail should be setup urban on, I want to do tricks on rails not be able to slide 6 feet of it. Set the lips back like normal so you can hit the whole rail. The new a frame is alright but I know the guy who welded it up and there is no way he would have put that rail on the hill like it is. Thinks it's missing good paint on it so right now it's super sticky and needs mad wax. It also wasn't even set in the ground evenly. Thanks for getting us a park but come on. Set stuff up correctly.

I agree with the urban on thought, if the first flat bar had a nice ride on lip that would be prime, maybe the A frame and flat tube rail before the jump as well. However, I would say that the A-frame is wicked nice, and though it's not 100% securely set in the ground, I thought it had the right amount of slideability. Compared to when the park was set up here last year, this one kicks ass.

gonna be there friday night and saturday, anything change in the park?

Was out a couple days ago and it was the same. Only difference from the last time I went was they waxed the rails and they're all riding way better.

Sunday River just started this blog called life of a snowmaker and it's all pictures everyone on snowmaking is sending in so they are all original shots. Check it out:http://lifeofasnowmaker.com/

I will proudly say I'm the one that buried that Yukon and pulled it out with the cat, that was a fun night haha

Any hope for T72 opening up within a week or two? I get back for break next Saturday and i can't wait to finally get some days in with the SR crew

Gonna be a ways out.... This warm weather is killing us on the snowmaking side of things

Word was that no snow is going to be blown on T72 for a long time, and that instead snow making will be going in to the course for the Frozen Rush and opening Aurora-Jordan. Is this true?

Can't say exactly what the plan is but the biggest goal is to get a variety of terrain open. T72 is usually pretty high on the priority list

any new features or switches on the preseason park for this weekend?

Park update: All features now have way nicer lips, park crew killed it on that one. Two new features up top, accessible only by Locke lift. A 12 ft skinny down barrel and a 20 ft flat bar, both lips have a gap to he rail but are more ride-on than urban on. Down below there's the same 10 ft flat box, then the donkey dick, then the flat down, which is now ride on. After that, there's a 20 ft flat tube with a huge lip on, really nice. Then a tiny shitty jump, then in to a flat-up-flat box, which is also pretty nice. Overall, killer setup, hope we get to shred it again next weekend and then get T72 going.

When you say ride on do you really mean ride on or is it just a properly built lip. Ride on means the top of the lip is touching the rail and you literally ride on..im hoping that isn't what you mean

Ride on as in lip is built above rail, as opposed to urban on where rail is above lip. The flat down it literally ride on, lip touching rail, but the two rails up top have a small gap between lip and rail.

dude these rails you are claiming are 20 feet are actually more in the range of 12-15...it's not that big of a deal im just astonished you honestly think that flat bar at the top is 20 feet

Like 99% sure IBAM is correct here. They talked about that flat being like 20 feet last season when they put it in and the down rail at the top is 12. Just seem shorter when you cruise into em. Either way, every rail was on point last week when I was up so I'm not complaining. Just stoked to hear about the work being put in on T72 and to ride it this weekend (if all goes well).

Just passed through on the sled and got a peep at T72. Looks like the jib park is loaded up with feautures!

Yeah, for those of you after an update on the parks, here ya go!

T72 Jib Park is now open from the lower entrance on Dream Maker (which you need to carve up to get to) and the trail and cutover to T72 is swarming with patrol whose park skier panties are in a bunch, so be on the lookout. On the left side line, there is the double kink fat tube set up as a mini-battleship (up-flat-down), a decently sized tube cannon, the new battleship rail (which is mad fun to hit), the wide tube dfdfd set up larger than it ever has been before, and the black bonk feature at the end. On the right side, there's a butter box, an up flat box, a nice flat tube, the c-box, 6-in diameter tube elbow. After all the rails, there is a set of 3 rollers which you can send if you speed into (or carve into the 3rd one from the right). Overall, a pretty hype setup for T72 opening weekend, waiting for them to fill in more empty space though!

By this weekend SR has to have one of the best setups on the east. The top two rails on dreammaker are money, they redid T72 since the weekend and it is setup with more rails and a way funner line on the right. Plus they're moving snow heavy right now for the top section and it looks like there's gonna be a 3 jump line and the third looks big.

What rails did they put in dreammaker? Im so pumped they brought that idea back because it was cash. New rails in T72 look unreal. I heard jumps for the weekend so hype! Ill be up!

Park Update: Up top on escaped you have a 20 foot down urban into a really nice 20 foot flat bar that's raised up on a mound. In T72 you have a 4 pack of jumps increasing in size as you go. I only hit the first two cause I'm a pussy. But they seem to be the very stereotypical Sunday River jumps with steep short landings . The first and fourth looked to me the best built even though the first is pretty small. None the less, my estimation on size is 15, 25, 35, 45 respectively. I am gonna try and recount the jib park as best I can. On the left , you have the urban donkey dick into the cannon, into the trap rail, then the quad kink and hitching post. On the right you had the sketchy ass like really short and tall down rail, into a DFD , into the flat tube into the up flat elbow, then the rainbow box to elbow rail . At the bottom are some rollers and a death bonk feature with solid trannys on all sides but really short landings. ( I over shot it by like 15 feet and landed flat.)

is 3d up yet? how big are the jumps/rails in there?

3D has been assembled. It has 3 pretty large step ups that I personally am not a fan of. And 4 rails a flatbar a flat box down flat double barrel and down rail

Agreed, racer tuck is required to make it to the landings.

In 2 weeks im taking the 7.5 hour trek to Sunday River for the first time. Any glades open and decent up there?

Meh, havn't tried poaching any glades this year yet, we're pretty bad off with snow right nowbut it's finally starting to roll in. I have heard that some of the glades are nice if you know where to look, just don't expect there to be a ton of snow. Park is prime though if you are into that kinda thing.

thanks for the info man! hopefully you guys get some snow in the next few weeks. Will they definitely kick you off the mountain if you duck some ropes to a closed glade run? I've only done that a few times.

My friends are'nt that into park but thats good news for me if the trees are shit

Nah if you duck some ropes you're set, nobody will care. Just don't do it like right in front of a patroller and you're all good.

I have ducked ropes and skied the glades and currently last tango and blind ambition are skiable and potentially good if there's fresh snow (was a bit crusty) . Wouldn't recommend and tighter glades . Also bring rock skies cause core shots are definitely going to be a factor. They are making snow on OZ wich will be hella nice.

any word on the set up?

Pretty fun stuff they set up.

20 ft single barrel flat

Cannon rail (only slight angle, still fun)

Jump (only a 10 footer but its flippable and easy to send)

Butter box cannon

Up Flat Down (2 flat bars and a single barrel down, really mellow but long)

Up Flat Down box

Pyramid stall

Everything slides really well and is in good shape!

Any word on this weeks setup? The same? Different? I will be there Saturday maybe Sunday depending on how good it is

Most likely the same setup, hopefully nothing gets taken out!

Ill be up with some homies taking laps on Sunday!

Blaaahhhh so bummed. I blew my meniscus out 3 months ago after over shooting the second jump to flat. I most likely wont be able to hit jumps again because they have to take out a majority of it. The spring set up looks dope though.

The setup today was:

A slight down barrel rail (urban on)

A flat tube (straight on)

A down flat rail ( urban on)

a down barrel rail (Urban on)

An up dance box ( straight on )

and a small pyrmaid stall.
