Sugarbush leading the way with a new seasons pass option

I love the idea! srsly many of my friends dropped skiing/snowboarding around 19-20 becose they didn't had the money and started egan like 5years later when they had more money and becose our mountain did something like this. sick stuff!

On a more serious note I do Like that they specifically called out people in my age and probably most of your age group for a discount. Dude college was expensive, it's nice that the hills still want us there post college per-parenting age group (not that I plan on having any legitimate children).

Thanks for the input!

I am extremely familiar with the countless NSAA studies and am very much interested in the approach that Sugarbush is taking to a fall-off in participation and the shifting demographics of the ski industry.

Most initiatives seem to focus on bringing in brand new skiers/never-nevers, and fail to address the fact that increasing retention has a higher statistical likelihood of being successful. These are people who skied/rode and enjoyed it. However, for whatever reasons (likely a combination of personal and financial reasons) moved away from it. Once they stop in their 20s, they are unlikely to return.

As I mentioned, I am curious to see how other mountains respond and what sort of effect the offering has in retaining skiers after college. It should be an interesting experiment to watch unfold.

Sorry for the bad video link. So many things to learn still. Here is the original vid and a short rail edit, just to keep the juices flowing.

Good on the bush for thinking out of the box and adding more pass options. That type of marketing is great and should pay odd. I lke to see hudge discount cheap passes for those employed in the services.

Solitude does a great pass system where you can by any day of the week m-thur for the season for $2sumthin and then add more days at variuos prices. Seems good for college peeps who could cram classes into a few days and ski there asses off on their off days and not have to throw down for a full pass. They dont offer any college full unlimited cheaper options.

Same with snowbirds no tram pass a little cheaper an you can still acess 99% of the mountain.

My $.02

That's such a sick option for purchasing a pass, at my local mountain which is give or take 1/4 the size of sugarbush is 350 dollars for early buyers and 560 around October

Wait a minute. Is This THE [/i]atkinson.So stoked haha. your sugarbush stoke exchange videos are sick haha. keep it going at sugarbush guys

Sugarbush is a super fun mountain. Best customer service out of any mountain that I have ever been too. I am really stoked on this pass deal, I know where I will be skiing for a long time. The Bush is finally getting the respect it deserves, alot of people don't know what they are missing out on.

LOL @ subaru and other people of his ilk.

where ive skied every season up until now, you could expect to drop AT LEAST 300 a season for a pass. it should be noted that gets you a couple of chairs and 300ft.

and it was worth every penny.

A little video to help explain the pass. I've got a free 2011-12 day ticket for the first person that correctly identifies the paraphrased quote from the last scene. Hint: It's a mix of Mad River Green and Bernese Mountain Dog. Is this too easy?
