SUBARU VS. AUDI

haha my friend is a spoiled white rich ass kid who doesnt deserve or work for anything! damnit you got me you physic bastard! was it taht fact taht I brought back classy NS and rep it in my signature?

obviously its a trophy car. read what i typed instead of jumping down my throat. its better because it is one. expensive, nice things, to me, are just better. they look better, make you feel better...

you're a bitch for getting rid of a cherokee because of gas reasons. i live in indiana and would never sell mine.

well if you are driving on a desolate stretch of 2 lane, when its 20 below, somewhere between Bozeman and jackson, a newer suby would give me much more peace of mind than my grand cherokee with 4 inches of lift, big ass tires, a gas sucking v8 and 160,000 miles. Trust me man, its hard selling the Jeep after hours and hours of wrenching on it, getting it to the point it is now, but it has to be done.

On a side note:

My 98 Grand Cherokee limited is for sale

-5.2 V8

-Slate black with black leather

-all options except upcountry (which I superceded with after market and other factory pieces)

-Rubicon express 3.5 inch lift

-Rubicon express adjustable lower control arms

-Yokahama 32 inch AT tires

-JKS front and rear adjustable track bars

-OME steering dampener

-OME shocks

-Factory chrome, front tow hooks

-Factory gas tank skid plate

-New infinity reference 6.5 inch speakers

-Husky liner floor mats (front and rear)

I dont think I am missing anything

157,000 miles

runs very strong

$6,699

I rebuilt the 249 a year ago. It got new seals and a new vc at that point. The vc has been good since I replaced it. The new vc has about 7500 miles on it. I wanted to swap out t-cases but for how I drive the 249 works well.

cool, glad to hear that someody hear actually knows jeeps. You would love a 242 in there. 2wd=burnout=fun. Hopefully i can get my niner thisweekend!

nice. I would love a 5.9 but with college and not having a garage out in MT to work on my Jeep I can't have a vehicle that I need to wrench on. A couple of summers ago when my Jeep was not lifted and the 249 was broken, I pulled the front drive shaft out for a few months. Its was awesome! Burn outs daily. Right before I got new tires and I installed the lift I did a burnout at a Hooters Jeep Meet n Greet. It was the best burnout I have ever seen.

i bet! i was originally hesitent cause they run on premium and that about $3 a gal, and im at school to, but then im like, key i love jeeps, i dont give a fuck!

All i can tell you is i drove the Volvo SUV in the snow this winter for one night...holy shit i couldnt have been more dissapointed. That car had NO traction, it was absolutly pathetic. I expected it to be pretty good and it totally let me down. I actually felt scared driving it.

I like how an audi feels in traffic, thats about it. If i wanted to fall asleep while driving i would buy an automatic. Subaru's be the shit son!

Subaru is the best when it comes for a value for money system, and they are easily tuned which is cool.

However I would like to point out that the Audi Quattro system is rally bred. It is the OG 4wd system as it was pioneered in the Audi 80 in 1973 and the the Quattro was the first Rally Car to have 4wd in 1980 in the Group B World Rally Championship. These cars ran around 650-800 hp through this system. hence why an RS6 can handle the shitload of power it has (330KW).

But you can't go past a widebody WRX 22B Coupe!

i still love skylines, they are very fast cars, and have always held the fasted lap times at nuremburg, beating out the like of porsche. the 4 wheel steering is amazing, not to mention that the awd is race inspired. the new one will be sick, wut i will be hard to beat the 97 r33 or thje r34

i agree taht 1000hp cars are nice, but i would rather have a 500hp dd, to me, those modded 1000hp cars have no use, i want a car i can drive newhere, but i do highly respect them. Comming from a guy who knows his way around cars and does his own workl, i know what it takes and how long of a process it is to accompluish such a task!

But why would you want a 500hp dd on the street anyway? you would be much better with a 90hp Hybrid dd and a 500hp track weapon wouldn't you? Cuts down on running costs!

haha gas mileage is irrelivant to me. Im gonna drive what i love, not what i can afford. I drive a 12mpg jeep ZJ, im buying a 5.9L ZJ this summer, and supercharging it next summer, cam it, 100shot, should put me in the 11s, all with a pump gas, awd 5 seater SUV with low range TC for when the raod/mud if real bad.

There is a nice 5.9 for sale on I think nagca.com. It is white, which wouldn't be my top choice, but it looks real nice and the guy is only asking about 6500. It is in Detroit, MI about an hour from me.

im looking at two niners, bothy with about 80k on them, new bearing and ring and pinions, and rebuilt 249s, both for about 8k. They atre beautiful, nearly perfect.

i feel ya on that one. fun costs money and i love driving and having fun in my car. i try to save some gas when i can just because i dont have a ton of cash but nothing beats a great day of driving, tearing up some back roads, letting those rpms fly and loving the sound of the engine and the pipes. my solution to gas mileage, one fun car, one fun motorcycle(soon) :)

my sisters car, sooooooooooooooooooo nice

legacy 2.5gt

The 22b is sick as shit but too bad we cant purchase them here in the US and if we can im sure it would cost us an arm and a leg and plus all the red tape we would have to round.

it all comes down to one thing, do you want to be just another guy in a wrx or do you want to be a fucking baller and roll an audi

Well here in Montana anyone between the ages of 16-25 doesnt have an audi(later models of coarse) unless they sell drugs or they are a trustfund baby anyone whop works for a living around here prefer Suby they can take a beating and u can fix them yourself as apposed to an Audi its super tempermental and u have to have a computer to fix and reset everything.

ummmm umm audi inveted the modern awd systm Audi in 1980 was banned from all world rally compatitons.... cause quattro is the shit....... i bet my 89 200 turbo could smoke anybodys subaru on here.,... not unless your rice and i wont give you the time of day.

^ Haha, I very much doubt that.

Also the Subaru AWD systems are slightly different between a WRX/Legacy and an STi. The STi is the only subaru in North America (with the exception of the 07' legacy spec B, I don't know about that one) that has the DCCD. So the AWD system is straight up 50/50 in a WRX. Still more preferable than the Audi though, as in all Audis save the RS4, the AWD system has a very FWD bias.

u know what happens they hear something from a friend and think its as true as gold and swear by it instead of researching it hes the kinda guy u would see as a mechanic that tries to tell u that you need to change your muffler bearings and he will really think u need to....lol

My WRX is fucking badass, but then again i have never had an audi, but my friends mom drives a fucking 120,000$ one, its so fucking sweet.

"looks like your headlight fluid is getting pretty low, i can fill er up for ya but itll cost a pretty penny." haha

and to veterans post- If im not mistaken on the STI you can actually program how much power is distributed to the front and rear. if i remember correctly it has a range from about 30/70(or 70/30) to 50/50. i remember reading it when the STI first came out in the US but i could very well be thinking of the evo so if anyone can confirm this please do. cool concept none the less.
