Stratton 12/13

for the few runs i got in the park last weekend it was really fun. jumps are mellow and some fun rails fo sho
 
ill be up there this sat if u see me call me out i got grey striped jacket, red pants, and im the kid who looks like hes gonna fucking kill himself on every feature

nah i wasn't there this weekend. ill be up next weekend, not sure if im gonna be able to freeski cuz of work. if i can get a couple of laps in sunday ill gladly shred with some fellow ns'ers!
 
Yo, I'll prob be skiing in Big Ben on Sunday. If anyone wants to meet up then hit me up with a PM. I live at TreeTops so I can just hike up any time to the top of Big Ben and meet up. I'm not great, so don't expect a ton from me.

I'll post here on Saturday with what outfit I'll be wearing.
 
yah. it's a nice place to be. We live on the second row from the top so it's not a bad hike up to 91, and also a pretty easy hike up to the top of Big Ben.
 
Yo I'll be there this Sunday as well, I'll probably be lapping big Ben all day wearing a black and tam bloom jacket and black saga pants
 
ha ladies? good luck finding decent looking ladies that can ski. maybe some of those foreign chicks they pick up to work in the base lodge would be best bet. ha
 
SAUSAGE FEST!!!!!!!!btw if i see any of the park crew guys this weekend im going to suggest they make an NS account and get an orange name, that way they can get in touch with the community and take suggestions. it seems odd you never see stratton doing that, especially since most of the park crew just look like park skiers themselves.

dont know if anyone here is park crew, but if you are, get an orange name account. that'd be dope

beats nothing at allanyway just rent a pair from first run, startinggate, or better yet norse house if possible. both have solid rentals
 
i know the norse house used to rent icelantics (i think). startinggate im also unsure of, but i know first run does. they're decent, just pick the right ski and you're good. it'll be better than a canter mounted 90 mm full camber park ski (for the most part)

i think for first run its like $50 for the whole day, which for 6 hours may or may not be worth it.
 
Last pow day I figured out where all the pow stashes were...so many hidden trails/lines at Stratton. Found waist+ deep powder last time. And some fun cliffs.
 
get up early and keep an eye on the new trail sunbeam. it used to be a glade trail but they haven't destumped it. i heard that it would open next big snowstorm, which no one thought would happen. will keep you posted, but i skied it when it was a glade and there are some fun little spots in there, especially when it sweeps under the Solstice lift.

Freeskibum: I agree. Those are pretty fun. The sun bowl is where the good terrain is.
 
Who's gonna be ripping Stratton tomorrow? I'll be out with some other friends and will be happy to have some people tag along.
 
I'll be there tomorrow, looks like they only got 11 inches so the woods will be pretty thin and sketchy. Prolly be rippin big ben
 
so stratton got maybe 8 inches and the woods were garbage. I also wrecked nicely on a 7 in big ben. apparently my sickle's are not meant for as much park as my dead moneys. Stratton needs to fix Shooting Star and get another lift installed on Kidderbrook. The lift lines at URSA and gondola were insane. The novice ski clubs showed up for all that POW.
 
haha they sucked cuz there was no coverage to begin with. the whole sun bowl area was fucked from the beginning of the day because the winds were whipping all day over there. i think shooting star was on wind delay saturday or was slowed down because of wind.

i think everyone agrees that stratton doesn't have nearly enough upload capacity. even at fully operational status the lift lines are terrible on holidays.

imo the coolest thing that could be done is put a ropetow on big ben
