Stratton 12/13

The 13 foot halfpipe idea is terrible. They made the trail bigger so they might as well use it.

i hope not. middle brook just seemed to always be empty. my main problem with stratton is their parks are in random spots not near each other at all. theres tyroliene on the main base, middle brook and big ben were some what close but not really. its such a pain to go to different spots just to switch things up.

also, i personally think the 13 foot super pipe might be good. they dont need the 22 ft one because they dont have the us open this year and stratton needs something to set them apart from other mountains.

Well I do not see it listed for their 12/13 parks which sucks because it was always empty. One thing I love about Stratton parks. And getting to re different ones is a pain for sure. I wonder how much they amped up big Ben

judging from the website at this point looks like its going to be an awful season until the us open.

The little pipe is goign to be awful and will be littered with tons of little kids. Big ben is going to suck ass again. Will have very small features probably. Tyro will be alright but will get boring fast. Going to suck this year.

Stratton went downhill veryy fast once they took the parks off the frontside of the mountain. The good old days of being able to lap like 3 pakrs in one lap from the top of amex. But i dont blame them seeing as they are a very high end east coast resort and dont want park hooligans ...watevs. Well see how it goes. They always have tons of sick rails and stuff laying around mid mountain

from looking over the website again, it looks like they might actually put features on super trail this year BEFORE the u.s open time which will be nice. Tyroliene might be fun but it is always filled with gapers because it is right in front of the lodge. I can't tell much about big ben besides them having a mini half pipe. that could be fun but big ben is a pain in the ass to get to. Byrneside is just a bunch of small jumps again filled with gapers and i dont really know what burton progression park is. i didnt go much last year but i dont remember them having that.

Last. i dont no much about the park crew but it looks like it is only four people. that is rediculous because my local mountain with 10 trails in connecticut has a bigger park crew

Yeah the one good thing about Stratton parks is that the parks are pretty much empty. Its also very fun on a pow day if you know where to go

stratton could be one of the top parks in the east hands down if it followed this list. I am someone who for the last 10 yrs has ski'd mt snow, killington, okemo, stratton, loon and seen change and why who the best is the best.

stratton you need:

1) to choose a main park trail that is long enough to support a park of length and speed for good size WIDE TAKE off jumps. clearly there were always 2 different crews building the Open course and then your park

2) rails NOT BOXES - use lifttower poles- look at the best mtns that do it- park city, big bear, keystone etc.- round barrel and variety. you guys have 10 of the same boxes and short little rails..you can tell the ppl that make them dont ride them or frankly are not very good because they would have been bored a while back...

3) park crew- mtn has struggled w/ this...the crew never mixed up the features...once their in their set to stay. very boring, no variety.

you have the potential to be great look to the big parks of the west. killington, loon, and mt snow just simply have more fun features to ride and you have been left in the dark. loon is the BEST example of a small mtn that makes an awesome park experience with diversity and unique and original components- totally rider driven. good luck- this is from someone who never understood why the US/ VT open features were night and day from your park and bought a pass just to ride the week after the open on that trail.

Haha winder if they will have anything set up. I don't start going till early January cause that's when I start to get free tickets haha

How do you get free tickets?haha I wish I was going tomorrow. There are a handful of rails set up on overpass, to the left off Amex.

Those rails suck haha, i flipped on the double barrel, the double barrel should be down while the flat bar should be flat

My dad is a school physiologist for one of Vermonts school districts, and every Wednesday they do a thing called JISP and take a half day and take the kids skiing at stratton and my dad takes a one group. Technically I should have to go to school in vermont to get the passes but we get around it haha. Its a almost every Sunday past

bump.anyone have any knowledge of their current set up? there isnt anything on the website and overpass isn't listed as a "small park" anymore (i think it was last weekend)

tyro will be open this weekend. Look for the border cross to be worked on by xmas break. Last weekend was good for all man made. By the looks of their site, this weekend should spread out the crowd nicely.

hows stratton looking tehse days...will be there every weekend starting this weekend jw how the park looks nad overall trails

decent. tyroliene was set up with a couple rails. with what looks like the last mild weather streak of the year (50s in december? come on. i guess mid-high 30s this weekend isnt that bad) it seems that winter is really setting in (knock on wood). im sure the guns are blasting hard.

wont be there this weekend, unfortunately. wish i could but something came up

I'm up at Stratton till the new year. Here's the park set up as of now:

TYROLLIENE

left: long flat box, straight double barrel rail

right: flat box, up flat rail, down bar

BURNSIDE

down box or round down rail option, small jump (12-15 ft), flat box or long up rail option, small jump (10 ft), short down rail, propane tank thing

i saw big ben first thing in the morning on sunday (ski patrol first tracks) it was really firm then but im sure its softened up. up top theres two medium sized jumps, they look pretty sick, and below that theres a couple of rail features, a tube rail thats really high oiff the ground and you can hit it from 3 angles (front, left, right), a wallride, and a huge oil tank thats in the ground. pretty sick

was there last weekend and setup was this:

3 small jumps

2 flat boxes and an up box

Down shotgun rail, down rail, and down pipe

Flat rail, up flat rail, and up rail

Not sure if changed

i agree. love how they have the two huge landings with 3 different take offs. the far left lane is sweet as well with the two jumps roughly 35ft and 45ft. was there on sunday. going this sunday as well.

the feature I made sucks bawls. i mean i like the tranny but the tube is just too hard to hit and It wasnt so much what i was looking for

YELLOW JACKET RED PANTS we should really get a stratton ns meetup one of these days even though i suck i can handle a decent camera

Haha, most people at stratton arent very good, Im not good but either way it really doesnt matter.
