STOWE OFFICIAL 11/12

north slope is the worst its been since I can remember.

the jumps are really small. there isn't really any "sweet spot" on any of the landings. (knuckles are nonexistent.) This makes every landing VERY abrupt no matter where you land.

side note: I have no idea why they kept the features to skiers right. its SO flat over there. When north slope park was on the left, everything was so much better.

The tubes have potential, but since their 4 inches off the ground, trick-wise nothing really good can be done on them

I know stowe has a plethora of BIG rails. (all the new ones you made) why not use any of them?

Some recommendations for the tyro build:

- fuck trying to build a jump line. the more jumps you build, the less snow you have to construct an actual good kicker. all we need is one good jump. a table or a stopover would be awesome. lets face it, no park on the east coast ever makes enough snow for a decent jump line.

- MORE rail options. I feel like every year there is just single rails placed in a straight line down tyro. Lets see more BIG rails setup next to each other so we can have options. more options = more fun and more diverse set of features

- Don't focus hard on the pipe park. Lets face it. 1% of all skiers that ride stowe actually ride pipe. Put all the better rails on tyro/ north slope. keep the smaller rails for pipe park. (i feel like mostly gapers use that park anyway)

that is all for now, sorry if I came off as too blunt on some of the topics. Figured id share some of my personal input.

another quick comment:

the new wallride has soo much potential to be fun. the log on top of it is just stupid. If you try to go to the top you just clip your front edge. and because the log extends off the sides, there is no way you can go off the sides. throw some coping on that bitch. it would be sick!

Railjam setup is fun, kind of sad it won't stay around...it is nice to have a hike park with multiple options right near the parking lot. Having features off the gondola is nice.

Why wont the rail set up stay for the year? It is not in the way of anything, and is great if you are taking gondi laps. I havent been since saturday but on the right side of north slope there is the fat rail, flat-down, then the bonk, you should continue with a few more features off that side trail towards the triple.

winter is broken, but tyro is up. Jumps are meh (maybe not enough snow?), but some decent rails. Tried to get a few phone pics but mostly failed. Upper rails shown below into top jump like last year, into left handed hip, into another standard Stowe jump into weird step down. Rails after that are OK, interesting box transfer set-up

inb4 stowe parks uses the "too little snow for good jumps excuse"

I realize there may be a lack of snow this year, but the tyro jumps are sub-par regardless of the conditions. If the lack of snow is truly the limiting factor (as kurt said on facebook) why not just have fewer and bigger jumps- a more agreeable alternative to shit jumps.

I suggest that you, stowe parks, plow the snow from the hip into the existing first jump and make a quality stepover table.

put together an edit for the gatorade free flow contest. would love it if kids could help rate me up...some shots from stowe and outwesthttps://www.newschoolers.com/ns/cult/contestview/id/4930/cid/39/eid/1426/

cheers

this is essentially what would make this jump better. It has a lot of potential to be a really good jump. (the flat landing right now is unbearable)

rails are on point. new dub kink is sick

The jumps on North Slope need some serious reshaping. The landings suck cause there is no good spot to land. there are huge chunks taken out and theyre wicked flat

this is what they look like (as of yesterday)

this is what they should look like

When life gives you lemons, ask for

salt and tequila and bitch about it not snowing. Getting too old to ski park everyday

mega flat down with the 2 tubes from north slope with urban options onto the down would be super fun. N slope needs a bit of a switch because it's starting to get a wee bit hagard. set up that mega flat down in-between where the cannon and the hip tube are now, pull the canon and set it up on one of the jumps as a real canon rail, put that flat bar that was pulled from 5th ave as a mellow down rail where that left down tube is now, and push the first jump into the last 2 and make them big. THEN north slope would be perfect!!!!

Not a local but i saw them setup 4 new jibs at the bottom of the gondola. And i was wearing white/red spyder because i forgot to ask whoever called me out's username. The tyro jumps were nice but weren't they much bigger last year?

Jibs are for a USASA rail jam.

Tyro jumps were about twice as big last year. No early season snow = less snow for parks = smaller jumps.

Yep.

Oh and it wasn't me.

Shit, my post didn't go through. But gotchya, and the jump size is definitely understandable because of this snow situation. Friday was really fun though with that non-stop snow.

Okay, and he was wearing an orange/purple hoodie, not that it matters though because it seems like every skier at the park was on NS.

should be there saturday and sunday. shout out the kid with the grey saga jacket and white/purple/blue (aka oakley bradford) pants.

Heads up, N Slope will be closed for the next 3 days for rebuild (tue, wed, thu). The trees are still really good, hit 'em up, more snow a comin'

Git on the bus! AMP Energy bus is now at Stowe and is in N Slope, park rebuild is done and open today just in time for the UVM Spring feista, starting at 10:30am thru 1:30pm for the UVM FST, N Slope will be closed for that time. Skiers only but for $10 you can enter, reg at the Mansfield base lodge from8-9:30am. Enjoy! View attachment 434423

upper mountain has been skiing good but sun and wind has made it a little crusty. Still some good snow to be had, fingers for more winter weather.

It was unreal how much has melted when I got up there on Wednesday. It's fun for hot slush laps with friends but not really worth it if you're travelling a distance. The weather this weekend is gonna be funky so get in some turns while the weather's nice. Bumps were fun if you're into those, otherwise it's just beach skiing.

N Slope will be open for tomorrow (Wed), we got flat cannon, rainbow box, the 2 jump set (rebuilt), big kink, down box, Swoop box, down tube and the wood wall ride, enjoy!

bummed to hear stowe is closing this weekend. Too early.

I didn't ski in VT this year, but I skied Stowe for the past four. Why did I not see a SINGLE video from Stowe with a Stoweparks or Stowe logo in it? But I saw so many for Sugarbush? Stowe killed it some of the past four seasons, and I know weather was a factor this year...but you gotta make some videos from the parks at Stowe. just a thougght for next season

and to go with this comment, why did so many of the normal stowe skiers, including UVMFST, UVMST, and ShredMC, go to Sugarbush this season? I know the snow was no good, but I just didnt see any footage of Stoweparks. Sugarbush seemed to have gained a fair amount of publicity this year despite the lack of snow

alot of snowboarders went to bush more this year. Theyve got the one run park that is lift from bottom right to the top of the park. you get a lap every 5 minutes and you can probably hit 5 rails/boxes then 4 jumps and another 5 rail/boxes in one run. I got both passes this year and went to stowe the majority of the time but defintley had some fun at bush.

the north slope pile is tiny compared to last year, can't see it making it that long

It snowed up top, quite a bit, soft and wet, skin to win

Sugarbush blowing up=Tony's badass management, Juice's grooming, and Liam's BANGER seggies. If you've never been to the bush, give it a shot next season. Trust me, you won't be back to da stowe

I know there is a reason why Sugarbush blew up, I was just more curious why Stowe, with the snowmaking capabilities and park skiing interests, could not make their parks/park skiers and boarders more known. I've been living in Utah this winter and have seen only a few Stowe edits, and tons of sick bush edits. I skied Stowe for 4 years, and loved it. I'll ski there again in the future. They just need to up their game and make their parks more popular via video
