STOWE OFFICIAL 11/12

I'm working on it, but we do need more snow, weather turns warm agian early next week and I want to make sure we can make it through, please be patient...

I know 1st Trick is the same day as R2R, I don't make our schedule. Plus I want to get more of a setup going more than just 2 rails...

what state have you been living in man? i've been wearing a tshirt riding my bike around all week. snow will come soon, parks will be built, woods will fill in, trader will get high. just need some patience.

vermont, not expecting a full park, but a handrail would be nice. friday will be my first time on a chairlift all year so would be nice to hit one feature. mt snow doesnt even have lifts running but still has rails setup. not to mention its been pretty cold all week up here

It got cold late Wed nite/Thurs morn and marginal at best, that doesn't produce too much snow, before that it's been 50 and rained up here... And did you see what's coming our way on sun? Temps in the mid 40's and same on Mon with some rain, I want to make sure we can make it through that and not end up right back where we are now... Rails will be back up for Sat...Flat box and something new!!!!

down flats super fun...we all understand that the weather has been blowin it, but you guys are doin a hell of a job with what ya got. Stoked that the new features are already seeing their way into the preseason park, can't wait to see what else you guys got for us!!

Yes, the rails will stay there untill I can open 5th Ave so there is no interuption in the rail setups. My hope is that when snowmaking temps return midweek we can blow on 5th Ave and try to get a setup for sat, but the rails up top will stay until 5th Ave opens.

Sunday 11th, I hope to be setup on 5th Ave by Sat as long as snowmaking can dump some snow down for us, outside chance we setup 5th Ave on Sat (still rails up top) and open for Sun and 1st Trick.

i didnt know this was the bush thread....wait its not gtfomost of those features are tiny. im liking the looks of what kurt has to work with this year.

Agreed, Tony is a friend of mine, a good guy and has a good crew. Healthy competition is a good thing, but we don't need to start something that isn't there.

.

UVMFST, thanks for the support! I can't wait to get some more stuff/new stuff on the hill so we can get this winter started already!!! Com'on coldness!!!!!

So temps are dropping and we should be able to make snow for a while. Plan is to get 5th Ave up hopfully for the weekend at some point if snowmaking goes well.

.

1St Trick has been re-rescheduled for Dec 17th on 5th Ave, sorry not my doing...

Threw up a clip of the new set up for ya'll. It has some good flow, great job. Can't wait to see what gets built once we have a full park.

1st Trick happening tomorrow Sat 17th from 10am-1pm up on 5th Ave, tons of product giveaways, DJ Bonjour-Hi with Mike Toohey as the MC. It's an open format that anyone can join in the fun!

"Our snowmakers absolutely love this cold weather-- this morning they are pumping 7,000 gallons of water per minute with nearly 130 snow guns running on the mountain. Trails benefiting from this are Perry Merrill (top-to-bottom), Standard, Crossover, Easy Street & Meadows. "

why is none of this hitting north slope??

Because opening the Gondola holds priority. Probably expanding terrain on Spruce holds priority as well.

I'm sure Kurt will add his 2 cents, but I'm guessing this is the case.

That being said, I would be thrilled with jumps ASAP

I know x-mas is coming and we would all love a park very soon, that being said, ppl have made holiday plans months in advance to come here without knowing what we have for snow and terrain, along with everyone who hold passes. We have seen some poor weather and that has set us back some 3-4 weeks in historical trail/terrain opening. In an effort to disperse everyone around the limited terrain we have right now, we are trying to expand open terrain all over the resort, Gondi, Spruce and even Mansfield, though not for any park expantion at this time. I hope to bring some news here soon when it happens...

think about it. a mountain's first priority isn't their park. they gotta open something for everyone before they get a park open

There's deff been talk of blowing for a park, I talk about it everyday, it's my job... Right now the snow it takes to build N Slope park covers the lower 1/2 of Perry Merrill and opened the Gondi. While you are a good % of the resort business it's not the largest %, more folks visit to just plain ol' ski/ride the mountain. We are on the radar for snowmaking very soon, but right now it's expanding terrain to deal with the holiday crowds that are a comin'...

im well aware of how it works haha, i just wasnt sure from kurt's post if that meant a park was a long, long way away or if it will be in the works soon

yah this seems a little wack that north slope hasnt had anything goin on it. midway terrain park seems like a pointless venture that noone on this site is ever going to hit.

i think midway is just really easy to set up and is good to have there for the holidays, but yeah i mean if slalom hill gets its own snow blown just for racing then why cant we get some snow for a park? there is definitely more cash in a park than a race

perhaps a setup change on the 5th avenue rails or something in lieu of a park? yes?
