STOWE 10/11

I didn't hit the 2nd jump at all...saw too many people overshooting and wasn't sure of the speed.
I went from the top of the landing of the 2nd jump and pretty much just straight-shot it and cleared.
 
tyro is SOO dope.

maad props stowe. I still cant belive there is actually SIZABLE jumps on the east coast with big landings.

DO NOT change them. I heard soo many kids complaining about them (mostly snowboarders). Tyro is the XL park for a reason. Lets keep it that way....

haha everyone seems to have overshot the 2nd real bad. you have to go pretty slow into it. Ive really had no problems. Soo kicky and nice!

The stepover is soo tight! The takeoff needs a little work but the size is perfect. you can take it deep! Maybe make the takeoff a bit wider. Theres a little dropoff from the cat approaching the lip that i need to carve over to carve off the jump, kinda sketchy haha.
 
i doubt you'll overshoot. i was straightlining from the second jump, but i also saw some people start right above the cannon and get speed.
 
undershoot maybe, but overshoot is hard to do. theres a real long run out. I got good speed from the second deck. Just tuck round the whole cannon pile and hit it straight. 7'd it last hit for the claim.
 
started at the cannon and came up about 5' short on #3, two replies above anwser the question.

Didn't venture below the pipe the last few days, whats down there?
 
Haha yes. There are many super scene snowboarders at Stowe that have absolutely no idea how to hit jumps (gypsies) and they think they're gay anyway and only hit rails in unique ways....and wear jeans cuz they're raw as fuck!
 
...although it is definitely harder to get speed on a snowboard and I'd be wicked scared to send the last jumps in run alone w/o the stability of skis
 
looks like its gonna be a "fill your tracks in Wednesday," stoked! Thursday morn also.
I'm gonna predict 15ish by the end of the storm, but it is going to remain cold so get pumped for face shots
 
is there any possible chance classes get cancelled on thursday? Id love to shredit again Thursday morning but besides skiing up i dont think thats possible unless i can get out of my 8 am class.
 
And so it begins! Big flakes falling right now in Stowe. Perfect timing cause the woods need coverage and after the arctic temps the past few days Tyro was real firm this morning.
 
the woods need it for sure, a couple of my favorites were feeling a bit thin today. Had to trek out a ways to find better snow. The next few days is going to be real fun.
 
sick day of shrettin. deffintley atleast 12-15 inches already. if anyone happens upon a gopro on angel food in the gnarly powder id be much obliged. sucks dick.
 
The jumps on Tyro are sick and should not be changed. But is there anyway to put more features like flat bars and other rails next to the jumps. None the less...such a sick park
 
But then where would all the gapers go?!?!?!! On a serious note, has anyone else noticed the mass number of completely ignorant out of state fools who bring their 15 children into Tyro? Friday-Sunday it gets really dangerous in the park and has been much worse than years past. Kurt, can we put up signs with warnings of immediate death upon entrance or something? Also, please don't stand on the knuckles of the jumps, I don't want to kill you.
Pow was pretty unbelievable yesterday. Definitely going tomorrow, but I'm trying to be a serious student this year.....damn it
 
Yesterday was amd tight, and today woulda been soooo epic if i didnt have 4 classes. Oh well, it woulda been a sick bluebird pow day, so jealous of those who went. Ill make it up for some runs tomorow

Wait no, actually it was pretty fucking fun. Hitting snowy woods then a grommed park doesn't get old.
 
why the fuck wasnt the park groomed after that storm...i couldnt get speed to hit any of the jumps cuz there was so much snow
 
not gonna lie, i'm disapointed with the park now. Last wednesday it was awesome. Big wedges, good landings; tyro truly was a Large park by anyone's standard.
Now, it isn't the case. I don't know how/why, but the takeoffs seem like they've been chopped in half.
i heard some kid got real messed up on two earlier, but still, why did it have to be changed and get small?
this is to say the park is crap, it just isn't where it was a week ago when it opened.
 
I didn't notice the first/third jumps being changed very much/at all....but I really noticed a change in the second one, seemed much smaller (maybe to help with all the overshooters?) Feels like a medium jump at best.
I was struggling with speed today, especially for the Step Up, but still had a great time. Fresh snow is always a plus.
 
i had a pretty big day. I feel like all the jumps did get a lil smaller. maybe not distance wise, but it seems like the landings were built up alot more which meant less hangtime. Did however have good speed for the third jump and threw my first 900/claim
 
The only change to the jumps was I had to deal with all the natural snow so I pulled it all off the takeoffs, inruns and runouts and stacked it on the decks of the jumps not changing the takeoffs just raising the decks. So the appearance is the takeoffs look smaller but from the belly to the lip is still the same. Otherwise, what happens is all the new snow ends up in the bellys and the runouts causing the takeoffs and landings to get smaller.
 
Hey was up there today and have to agree with some of the earlier posts about the park not being quite what it was originally. I know that there were some injuries on the 2nd jump but it was actually super nice if you just got the speed right and it has been pretty much completely flattened and the other two also seem smaller. The 5th ave rail park was being redone today and it looked like the down box being put in was pretty tiny and I was just wondering what happened to the longer down box that was there in the beginning of the season.

still love the 1st and 3rd jumps in tyro, 5th overhauled now down box, big orange thing, f-d, liking the last two
