Stevens Pass 2011-2012

so... in case anybody is wondering, waterfall is built. Not huge, but still decently sized for the time of year and snowpack. So please please please enjoy that, and the array of rails and jibs, on Friday.

today was pretty damn fun.

Please pour a little drink in memory of all the snow we will lose with 7000'+ snow levels with plenty of rain

Hopefully I will one day figure out the speed for the waterfall line. Even minty-based, freshly waxed Caylors couldn't deliver enough speed to make up for my carve today.

I do go straight in. But then I carve into my spins. It works literally everywhere else I've ever been except the Waterfall line. Yesterday was only my fourth day ever at Stevens so whateva.

I'm a lightweight. 135-140lbs. I can get the speed down for jumps consistently everywhere else I've been though. It's like there's a smaller margin for error on waterfall or something. I just haven't quite figured it out yet. Hitting them more will solve that I expect.

doesn't explain anything any better.

There isn't some secret to hitting waterfall that everyone is hiding from you. It's the exact same as every other jump. Watch people around you, make an educated guess based on your size/equipment and send it. Make adjustments on your drop point/carves after that?

This should be pretty simple. Not enough speed to clear waterfall? Go faster. Still cant make it? Create speed and maintain speed better. Still can't? Please go to snoqualmie, where it seems everybody is a champ at not being able to clear small jumps.

When you have 14 megabytes of reading, that's some serious shit.
And I suppose this is some roundabout way of telling me that you won't be there tomorrow.
I'm reading "On The Road" anyway.

Have you read On the Road before? I have the OG script version if you want to borrow it sometime. I also have a book I've been meaning to give you for 2 years now. Remind me.

Also,

I miss Stevens! Hopefully I can get up there soon.

"I just haven't quite figured it out yet." Is that so hard to read? I've been saying that it's something I just need to figure out all along in this shitshow. My op was making a joke on the fact that the few times I've actually been to Stevens I was either inexperienced or it was a warm, sticky storm day.

Friday is the first day I've ever seen decent speed conditions and I only hit Waterfall line four or five times and cleared it at least twice. So I do know how to create and keep speed, thanks. It's the consistency that eludes me.

I'm done discussing this. Hate away if you will; I don't give a shit. Thanks to everyone who read and understood the entire post before hitting reply.

I've ran into Kerouac in other people's houses (Ginsberg's, Snyder's), but never on his own terms. Really enjoying it so far.
Give it to me!
And yes, do visit. You've got plenty of places to stay, and my house in Leavenworth has an extra bedroom right now.

we will be filming this saturday WOOOOOO that means that the water fall needs to prime cough* cough* david..
