Stevens Pass 2011-2012

I want to see one minute of acro skiing/dancing down a popular groomer on a weekend to a michael jackson song. Preferably someone holding a boom box and playing it while you dance versus just laying it over the video~

Just so you know, bras are what females where when they grow boobies (which are fun to play with for about five minutes, and also make great pillows), which will happen when they grow up. Just wanted to clear that up for our younger readers.

Not really. Theres no points, no lines, and you can make up whatever challenges you want. Hey, what do you fuckin care anyways vermont boy~

eccentric tasks in exchange for pats on the back.

scott dont be mad, remember the good times, like when i paid you gas money in gold coins and a $2 bill.

oh fuck yeah, i used that 2 dollar bill at QFC to buy a lighter to shoot off fireworks in the middle of capitol hill. Apparently the automated check out stands accept 2 dollar bills~

Could we make a challenge who has the biggest tall tee? Or who can wear the most Jiberish products.

David, please build a hip with wallride transition. Like, hip to wallride. Like Nick (seaburn) said, get creative! Unique features.

fuck it, just put wallrides in the landings of all the jumps. Oh and put ceilings over the landings so people cant possibly overshoot. Im creative as shit son you guys should pay me a counseling fee~

I googled that word and I think youre making crap up. All my ideas are based on facts, you just make shit up~

what do you want to see this year?

No more square coping and longer rail/box features. They're so short!

What types of jibs get you most excited?

Longer rails. Something real crazy like dfdfd or a big rainbow or roollercoaster could be so legit. I think the barrel ideas are great too.

Do you like Pro Line at large size?

I loved the size when they were biggest this year. At other times the jumps could use more amplitude. I would like the first as a big step over, the 2nd definitely had some kinks to work out but the 3rd seemed money most the season.

What types of jumps would you like to see?

^

Would you rather have more jibs than jumps?

Yeah I'd be down as long as the pro line was prime. Also I loved the size of that med line you made on the right at the top David. The only problem was how flat the terrain was. If you could find a spot for a med line like that I would be stoked.

How did you feel about the comps last year?

We need a slope comp.

What jibs are most essential to build this fall?

Longer, longer, and longer.

Would you rather more jibs and jumps, or a halfpipe? Do you care about the pipe

Don't give a fuck about thw pipe. Bring on showtime!

This is always the most popular thread on the WA forums. Obviously because the coolest people ride stevens, and they know that posting here increases their chances I will sign their helmet~

So here's your first chance to affect what we do this year:

what do you want to see this year?

Rollers

What types of jibs get you most excited?

Roller Lines

Do you like Pro Line at large size?

Only if its got great side rollers

What types of jumps would you like to see?

Roller Lines and Pump Bumps

Would you rather have more jibs than jumps?

I'd rather have more rollers.

How did you feel about the comps last year?

WHY U NO SKIBLADE INVITATIONAL?

What jibs are most essential to build this fall?

I'd erect that cock-ride before the white stuff starts fallin

Hey David on a side note of crazy features, this could be real cool. I know last year you were trying to keep atleast one crazy thing in at a time, I'd be stoked if you kept doing that!

P.S. the gaps aren't necessary, that could be death...

Wow those carbon offset passes seem sketchy as fuck to me. The money goes to help build Bonneville power more wind turbines, which they already are grossly underusing because they have to pass a certain amount of water through the dams anyways. Sounds to me like we would just be paying for more unused wind turbines, and Bonneville power profits (which I have no problem with obviously, but there are better uses for a donation). I realize its a non profit org, but Bonneville power controls the grid/power allocation, I dont see how you can really differentiate the two entities.

TLDR I am wondering if the carbon offset passes are actually offsetting much of anything.

The fuck does carbon offset even mean, its not like wind turbines remove CO2 from the air or some shit, all you are doing is adding less than say a natural gas or combination plant. Besides the fact that those giant turbines require an assload of raw materials and is difficult and expensive to recycles aka high lifecycle cost aka not as efficient as youd like to believe~

inb4 Thomas wins for most Jiberish.

Possibly buying a pass to Stevens this year. Most likely getting hooked up at Snoqual. I'd like the pleasure of riding both.

Scott has a general idea of the truth of it, but is lacking some of the economic ideas behind it, and providing some falsehoods as well. I will go into more when I have a real computer rather then Steve Jobs's piece of shit phone that wants to auto correct shit into shot. Fucking moral high ground. I would sorely wish to punch that man in the face, despite his marketing genius. I would also like to punch the fuckhead who made the ns mobile site, it sucks dick cheese through a straw.

Anywhoo, wind power is fickle, and can be very un-environmental, if set up incorrectly. Those turbines are expensive both to build and transport. These two processes have a significant sunk energy cost. There are few places where there is enough wind to make wind farming profitable. Wind farms also have an effect on bird migration ( I don't give two shits, with the exception of hunting, but the hippies care about that shit). It is also to think about the down wind effects of wind farms. To be effective the turbines need to take large quantities of energy from the wind (that's the whole point). When the wind looses this energy, it has less effect on the areas down wind. How does this change the temperature of those areas down wind? Wind both warms and cools areas to maintain equilibrium, it is the natural dispersion of heat. It is also interesting to think about the effects on smog down wind. I would be interested to see a chart measuring the carbon ppm in the air around Vantage both before and affter the wind farm went in around Ellensburg.

You want clean energy? Go nuclear.

Spent the day at the pass yesterday.
Bike park is looking pretty sick. Lots of work to go, but it should delight once it gets rolling.
Park planning is coming along. Keep up the comments and suggestions.
Seth: I totally hear you about the dearth of long jibs in the park. Definitely on my priority list. And I love that option drawing. Last year, we got hammered when we used multiple jibs because we had so few. That should change for this year.

Id love that. I mean Im just ranting really, and I'm less concerned about the viability of wind power than where this green pass money is really going. In my book we need to invest in every "renewable" energy source available. Wind is a good start~

ATTENTION EVERYONE

BILLY CAME TO PORTLAND THIS WEEK, WITH A FRIEND, AND THEY WENT TO A STRIP CLUB THAT I SUGGESTED THEM. AND THEY LEFT WITHOUT ME.
