Stevens Pass 2010-2011

Are we going to see another limp dick park? Bring back Top Phlight the way it once was and bring back the fun and life it should have and can have. This is the worst park I've ever seen in my 10 years of riding here and it's boring as fuck to ride.

real talk. one more question, what sense does it make to have a park manager that doesn't ride park? or, what sense does it make to have a park manager thats an unnaproachable cat driver?

All I've seen are some video's here and there so I obviously have no idea where anyone is coming from, but whys the park so bad? A jump line that massive and even half of the array of Stevens rail features and it cant be a all bad park...

And Greg's a smart guy. Seems to me in a job thats 90% setup and snow management in a very small, highly used area, you would want someone who knows how to push snow around... just a thought, of course.

How is it different from the usual park though? The top sections flat as fuck, its not like they can make a new mountain over on brooks in a season...

Greg has good ideas but never makes anything happen. All he wants is big ass jumps. Sure pro line is really damn big but there's way more to a park then that. There is no progression at all either. It goes from medium sized jumps to really poppy large jumps. How the hell are you supposed to make that big gap if you're new? Also for rails and box's there isn't much of a progression either. It goes from those wide easy flat boxes in the mini park, to elevated narrower boxes. What happened to the two big flat boxes, I remember seeing those things back in like October?

The park has had almost the exact same structure for a long time. Nothing has really moved at all. Shit's placed all whack to. Why don't you but the c box and the flat box before it on one light? There's nothing there and would allow more features to be hit down a run and keep people out of Juniors landing. Build shit on Brennan's trail to, Greg has an awesome idea for it, why hasn't he done it David? At least build some rollers, or mini jumps or something. Hopefully you put in some down bars today to, there shouldn't be only up bars.

Everything lays around to or is "in the shop", where the hell did those two flat bars go? Why has the wall ride been sitting around? Why were the donkey dick and round bar, arguably the two best feature at Stevens sitting in the shop for two weeks. To get the dick painted pink and paint the coping black. Was that really necessary?

As far as I understand "management" doesn't give a fuck about the park. Well if they don't give a fuck then why don't you build rollers and move things around a bit? Not everything needs to have a lip or metal on it. Get natty like Nico Mueller. Do you need approval for everything? Do what Dan did before he left and try to get the public involved, he had the right idea for it and took the first steps to make it happen.

Start doing little things like moving the candy cane rail down 30 feet so you can get speed for it after that flat box. Put stuff on One Light and Brennan's and mix things up. Also switch up that Skullcandy thing and round up bar at the end of the right line. Those haven't moved since January. Make this place fun again, fuck what management and marketing says. What are they going to if you make a sick park? They're all talk and never make shit happen, do it yourself.

I agree with etienne about he lack of a mid ground between easy baby jumps and pro line, I know that I would love to see a true medium sized line(as im sure would others), the majority of us aren't quite as skilled as Grant or David, having only jumps that big honestly isn't even fun

why build a massive botter in the pipe that >10 people will hit on a day to day basis, when you could have spent that time making features that 3 times that many people can enjoy

For the past 2 months 'pro' line has been those medium sized features. It was not until about a week ago that water fall approached being a 'pro' jump. Otherwise the jumps have been pretty medium sized.

Honestly pro line is shit. There i said it. The jumps are very nice but speed on the other hand is not. The jumps are pretty small and you cant get speed to hit them at all. Im lucky to get to hit Waterfall when I would love to hit Water and Jr's at least. If you took out the skullcandy feature and moved it to that side groomer after jr's and pushed all the snow from were it is now into the run in of water that would be so nice. And another thing. Move the DFD down a little bit so there arnt tons of people using junks landing to get to it, by mid day the landing is choppy as fuck.
Thanks love riley.

what we reallyyy need is a jump thats like 40 ft and super poppy and with an uber steep landing. something not too scary but good for learning tricks.

What happened to those trees that were cut down at the top of the pro line to? Don't let their death go in vain, where are those log jibs?

Tear down the park and institute a mobile freeride taskforce head up by Dr. Steele. They ride around the mountain and teach people how to not be whiny bitches wherever they are skiing~

The ammount of crying in this thread is fucking pathetic. All you kids complain about the dumbest shit. Pro line doesn't suck just cause your not good enough to hit the jumps. "oh I don't have a enough speed". Learn how to wax, drop higher, and learn to pop.

or maybe don't speed check going into it. I see kids start skating from way the fuck away, trying to carry speed, and then they do 2-3 speed checks right before the jump.

Also carving on the lip will kill your speed.

How are you kids not getting speed? The jumps really aren't THAT big, and I always have plenty of speed on my non-waxed skis (I weight 150lbs). Maybe you should quit bitching and realize that only boring people get bored, especially when skiing. Or you could, like, not speedcheck everything.

I start skating from before the skullcandy with properly waxed skis and not speend checign or carving iand can still not clear. SOmthing is obously wrong here.

I can't count the number of kids who say this and I see them sliding shitty turns on the edges in the tranny of the jump.

You can always point it straighter. Trust me.

Damn I'm pretty surprised at the complaining. I've been stoked to ride Steven's park all year, it has been sick! You guys should be just happy you're riding Stevens Pass. This is my first year having my home mountain actually have a park.
