I feel like Gilson is more that friend that always brings beer but nobody is really that close with. They're always invite cause hey, beer, but they won't be anyone's best man in their wedding.

Gilson supports a lot of things we like, like rail jams, events, up and coming skiers, etc. But nobody is excited about the product they offer. Their website and product descriptions seem uninspired and don't push design at all.

this year I went to 2 rail jams hosted by Gilson all I can say before I always considered Gilson on the same tier as j skis yk cool at times kinda corny not as aggressive and raw as the companies I usually like but they were okay but after the jam my respect for them went up a lot. steep steep was the announcer for the jam and I gotta say no one was more stoked to be there then him always lively asf and just seemed genuinely happy it was just pure happiness and fun just having great times and making the best memories with dudes I barely know but we became boys. Steep definitely helped in a way the growth of Gilson while the ski is not for me personally because I ride early rise rocker skis but I still think the collab is totally cool.

Of course there are better skiers but that isn't necessarily what creates the entire culture. SteepSteep loves skiing just as much as the next person on here and can probably still do better tricks than 90% of people on NS, manz is completely for the culture... he just also happens to have an insane Youtube following that you can't not respect... 158,000 subscribers..... and he just helped sell basically 50 pairs of skis in a couple of days! I am a skier on Gilson and totally respect the move and think just because you do a top sheet with someone who isn't the best pro skier has nothing to do with not bringing anything to the culture
