big hits are SO fuckin sweet.....PIPE TOMORROW....if it isnt open tomorrow well..... uh dont blame me :P that shit was money today. Jumps are so good, everything is flowin fuckin great. Now I just pray the rail jam isnt another sswsc show of NO TALENT with PEOPLE WHO CANT FINISH THE FUCKIN RAIL. yea.....so uh...park rawks.
 
simma down now, not referring to EVERYONE that was there, but most of em.....pipe FINALLY open.....yay.......no where near the amount of prep went into the rail this year as last year.....not to mention the rail got seriously jacked up when it was puled out last night.....oh well....wobbly rails are fun! plus rail legs into leg = superb
 
No offense to park crew, but the new jumps are not sweet, the second set are a pair of jumps that have no pop to them that you get no height off of with a landing meant for a bigger jump and the first set are huge step-downs that are reversed, the big one has a small gap and the small one has a big gap. and the 1/4 has no vert. I heard someone say it best last night...why doesn't someone open a ski aor snowboard magazines take a look at the jumps and make something like those?

the first set are going to be identical....so you can transfer from either side.......as for the second set....if they had a fair amount of pop to them, alot more people would be getting fucked up. Yea, it certainly wouldnt be a prob for me, but we are already havin probs trying to regulate who hits those hits as it is now, so no gapes come in and either destroy the lips or kill themselves. You can still get plenty of airtime just by popping off of em yourself. Yea the "qp" has no vert, but thats cause its been built and maintained with just a cat blade, and not the pipe cutter. Whether its gonna stay and get some vert, or get canned into something else, I have no idea right now.

finally getting some mini-jumps up to keep the gapes happy and hopefully off the other stuff, and planning on puttin in another rail line/ the mini-pipe just isnt going to happen unless we get more snow.
 
i hit that second jump next to the pipe today and not enough pop is definetly NOT the problem. it has the sketchiest kick at the end of it. it needs to be flattened down or something. i told gary, who said he would tell the cat driver. it looks flat as hell until you hit it. my mom had a good suggestion of writing a letter to the newspaper about how much our park sucks, and maybe that would get the attention of the mountain. who knows...
 
holly shit... I just spent a ton of time reading through all of this. Props to jibbers from Steamboat! So from this i can reconize gina, collin, tom(I think), and jay. Is that right?

so with the park... I think this would be cool, kinda my 2cents. I think the step-up pretty fun. The two jumps next to the pipe could be so much better. I think that if the top jump was moved down a bit, then the second also moved down and made way higher in the air with about the same amount of distance that would be sweet, like a real money booter 12-15 high, 60 long, and taking the qp out, and sort of roping off the area with a gate so that gappers don't stand on the landings... oh man they have been everywhere latley. Then the jumps on the far side of the bowl near all the rails should be made smaller... they are ok, but its just scary hitting them because you can't see shit, those would be good ones for tourists....away so they don't get killed by someone on accident. Then I think they could put in a medium set of jumps near the larger jumps, on the other side of the lift...so if your riding up bashor the big jumps would be on the left, and the medium on the right, then step-up on the far right. Its a fun little park though, you can make alot of laps, get to know ppl, and not have to deal with all the attitude of other resorts. All problems aside... it would be cool to move it back to sundown... or sunshine.... whatever that lift is called.

I'm friend!!! i hope at least, I love steamboat so much! This is my second sesason up here. My name is Andrew, i'm the dude that likes to try to go crazy off the big jump. ummm I wear alot of shit.... but mostly last year I wore all white, or all black with a fur puffy. This year i've got this red/black coat and pants, a siver white, and sessions patteren thing.

and sorry daniel...i don't think i know you, hopefully we can ski sometime though!
 
I'm intrigued by the big step up it looks like they're putting in....cant wait to see it and hit it. I like whats going on with the park now, its got some fun lines in it. Have yet to really see anyone hit the last big battleship rail at the bottom, maybe mix it up with a different rail?

I saw a couple of the park crew guys make it today....they were having to hike up the slope above Bashor and charge in while avoiding gapers though
 
o by the way i heard there was supposed to be 13,000 people ON THE MOUNTAIN!!! that is fucking rediculous. i may just hike to the park tomorrow since i am going to be watching the mogul comp anyways.

Also with the step-up, has it changed much since last weekend? I kinda hurt myself and havn't been able to get out, is it really huge now or something where ppl can't make it?
 
the big side is so gay... i swear to god you get more air off the small side. i don't even feel like i leave the ground on the big side... i almost got my hopes up that we would have a decent sized, good jump to hit but no. anyways on a more positive not (wow!) the pipe was better today than it has been all year.

big hit on the 2nd set definitely has more pop....hit it yesterday and yea, alot more airtime. updated/tuned bigger step up is tits right now, so much more fun. just need to keep gapers out of the damn landings. s rail is in a much better spot, just needs to be dug down a bit going to work on all the big airs later this week. the up rail is the shit btw.
 
jumps revamped, seem to be pretty dope, going to actually spin off em tomorrow. i JUST started stomping the last battleship rail 4 days ago. took me so gd long but i finally got the bastard, with a slide on, weee.....

yea daniel it would be dope to have you on the crew, jeff has been being a douche lately, making me work my ass off and not letting me change up my schedule. so yea hopefully he gets the sand out of his vag and starts letting up a bit.
 
ok, so i was skiing the park on new years eve day, and ummm, yeah. the step ups are sorta neat but small. and the bigger jumps were closed, pipe too. so i resorted to doing 180's into the pow on the landings of the jumps from the side, quite silly. and, i thought of this while driving today, has anyone thought of trying to land on the side of the step up landing.. like a step up hip? does that even make sense?
 
yeah i've seen some boarders trying it. But yeah i was up in the park on sunday, and i had a blast up there, trying to relearn my spins with a different technique, it was fun! Collin u still going to the YGO this weekend?
 
I almost had a 180 decapitation on a kid on the big step up yesterday. Yell at them for me Tom. haha. Andrew is starting to freak me out when he does it from the lift ,"Get out of the way!!! HEEEEY!!!"
 
yeah i'm stil going. i'm kinda fucked cause i can't ski very well right now because of my side but i'm going to give it the old college try! whoo!
 
yay i am doing the young gun too, where you staying at colin?? saunders lives in breck now and i will be crashing with him... you could probably stay there if you want, just bring a sleeping bag cause it is a real small place.
 
i'm actually crashing at my friend marian's house in breck cause it's a nice place. my friend katie and my brother are coming with, it'll be fun. umm, i'm gonna go down and ski copper on friday if anyone want's to come down and ski too it'll be a grand time. and i'm going to be in town skiing there on wednesday and thursday too i think.
 
I had a blast at Steamboat this weekend. The few steeps that are there are fun as hell, plus there are a number of fun drops to do.
 
i was at steamboat from thursday till monday, it was so sweet, there were so many cliffs you can find, and the park is pretty small but its really fun, the step up and s-box were so fun.
 
I should be up on thursday or friday, see ya up there collin! There are tons of ppl going to the YGO this weekend from Steamboat, should be fun!
 
fun stuff. big jumps are pretty much pure tits now. good to have dj on the crew....starting tomorrow I believe? should be good. today was a blast as soon as the sun got out. I really want to can the "quarterpipe" and turn it into something much better.
 
nah, i gotta go fill out some paper work tomorrow afternoon and then i start friday and work tuesdays thru fridays. i am psyched. looking forward to doing what i can for the park...
