i just got back from mammoth and tahoe and they have like a million times more snow then we do. but leaving makes you realize how sick steamboat is, even if we dont have that much snow or a great park.

Are you serious? Tahoe is one of the sickest places to ski, massive cliff drops, toooons of crazy tech chutes, more snow...the list goes on. Not trying to hate on the boat, but its got nothing on Tahoe.

Chapmange is so much more fun than sierra cement.

Other than that both have there merits and can be a lot of fun to ski.

 
^^ i wasn't referring to just the mountain. the town has the most chill vibe of any ski town. plus, no where can touch steamboats tree skiing. the snow in cali is like 20 times heavier.

my friend jen from breck was at a pipe comp there a week or 2 ago and realy messed her knee up because the pipe was over vert. it realy pisses me off when stuff like that happens, especaly at comps, shouldnt the pipe and stuff be perfect? its nothing aginst you guys who ride there, its just frustrateing to see a realy good friend get hurt like that. gina do you know her by any chance?

yeah, i know jen. I think I've known her for almost 5 years, we skied moguls together way back when. It sucks she messed up her knee. She got to the contest late and wasn't able to practice, so she didn't know that the first hit required a little adjustments. It does suck when people get hurt, but not all pipes are perfect. I competed at the US Open, Gravity Games and World Champs and our pipe was more consistent than 2/3 of those, so its always a chance you take by not taking a practice run. I hope she gets better!

i have a snowmobile now!! i figure i'll be able to keep skiing on buff into may. someday we'll get a bunch of kids with sleds and tow a crew of people up there and build a jump. there is so much snow on buff right now my shitty snowmobile cant move without getting stuck.

yeah... wp closes the 17th then moab trip later that week so ill be hitting buff around the 18 or 19 with my roomies. PLUS i may be moving back to steamboat in the fall.

^ i agree, and i am willing to tow people up there on a nice day. i want a sick jumps session on buff before the end of the year. by the way i just realized that i have one more day left of skiing in steamboat for pretty much the rest of my life. it is kind of exciting, but kind of depressing at the same time.

thanks guys! i love my lil steamboat crew. i was really sad leaving the pipe the other day. anyways...they lost my registration for the WSI, so i am on the standby list. Sarah Burke, Harvey and Denise Jaworsky are all trying to pull strings. Everyone is trying something for me...it totally sucks. But whistler is sweet and the snow they got is awesome! i'll talk to everyone soon! love ya!
