Hey all Newschoolers, my name is Robert Scott and I am the President of XSI. There seems to be some confusion about XSI and I want to address this directly for everyone. I personally created XSI because I, like all of our XSI employees, am an athlete and I got hurt boxing. Broke my right hand! No problem, right? I have major medical insurance. But even with really good coverage, it was still going to cost me several thousand dollars to repair my hand. It was only February and I was not even close to hitting my $5000 deductible. So, guess who was going to pay for my hand to be fixed? ME! 100% of the cost was mine! I started thinking, â??Man, you canâ??t do this every month!â?? There has got to be a way to do what I want to do, like ski, snowboard, skate, etc. without having to break the bank. So, XSI was born. I have it! I believe in it! Thank you to Newschoolers for giving me the space to explain it to all of their readers. You guys are awesome!
First, I want to make it VERY, VERY plain: XSI is NOT major medical insurance! Major medical is the stuff you get to cover ACL surgery and paralysis, cancer, etc. We have made every effort to explain this on our website and in all of our press releases and advertisements. If you have major medical, Great! But an accident, if covered, is still going to cost something out of pocket. And if you donâ??t have major medical, XSI will help.
Second, XSI was created for two reasons: to reduce athletesâ?? actual costs if they do have a major medical plan so they have the ability to participate in their sports without the fear of high deductibles, co-pays, or lost time from work. AND so that those athletes with pre-qualifying conditions, other health issues or just flat-out canâ??t afford a major medical plan CAN get some coverage.
Third, unlike many accident plans that do cost around $10, you do NOT need to have a major medical plan in order to get it! This is so important because XSI provides protection you can get quickly and easily even if you can'??t afford or qualify for other insurance. Changes in health care policies have made it nearly impossible for people that are not covered under their parents or employers plan to get insurance if they have a history of injuries or pre existing conditions.
Fourth, unlike other accident plans there are VERY few exclusions! You can be a skier, rider, skater, or basically any other sport and get the coverage and get your claims paid. Many companies will deny your claim if injured while participating in â??extremeâ?? sports. With our PRO package there are even fewer exclusions!
Fifth, when you sign up with XSI you are not ever on your own. We have highly experienced, licensed insurance agents explain everything to you! When you join XSI they thoroughly explain exclusions, the claims process, the costs, and benefits. Our clients know the ins and outs of their coverage. We want to make buying, using, and keeping our clients as protected as possible as easy and fast as possible.
An example of how XSI works when covered by the Level 1 policy. Say your break your leg. You would get $300 for the ER, $150 for X-Rays, $2400 for the break, $100 for crutches and a $30 for each additional doctor visit. Thatâ??s a minimum of $2,980 paid directly to you. You can use that money to pay your co pay/deductible or pay towards your bill.
Also with XSI there is not a maximum on use or raise in premiums if used. You can use XSI 10 times in one year and don't have to worry about being dropped or rates increased.
We want everyone who has any question to give us a call and ask for the details and fine print. We are constantly evolving and are working on introducing policies that will cover major injuries and surgeries.
Old or young, rich or struggling to get your season pass each year; XSI makes it possible to be protected 24 hours a day, seven days a week at a cost anyone can afford. Thatâ??s the bottom-line!
Feel free to post any questions you might have.
