Kylo Ren is the worst movie villian I've seen in a while for a few reasons:
1) With all his training, he gets his ass kicked by Rey (I understand she probably has some thing up with her family history, but she also has absolutely no training with a lightsaber)
2) He just looks like a little bitch. Like cmon, get a hair cut or bulk up.
3) He's crying everytime he takes off his helmet. I can kind of understand when he comfronts Han, but when he's interrogating Rey he has tears in his eyes as well.
Also how tf does Poe get off of that planet when they crash land?
Also if Finn was trained from birth to be a stormtrooper, how does he go from full commitment to full-blown traitor?
It's Star Wars, internal conflict is the name of the game. Vader had it, Luke had it, now Ren has it.
Also, he'd been shot in he stomach with a blaster by Chewy a few minutes before fighting Rey. He probably wasn't in tip top shape.
Yeah, I missed Poe's 5 second explanation for how he'd survived, wasn't sure about that either.
The Finn thing was my biggest question, too. These kids have been stolen from their parents as babies and brainwashed their entire lives to be killing machines (also, for any Game of Thrones fans, this sounds a lot like the Unsullied, huh?) and all that is undone for Finn within the first, like, 5 minutes of his first battle? Hopefully we'll get more back story there.
Overall I thought it was really good. The first few minutes had me worried because it seemed like it was just going to be a comedy that lacked the epicness of episodes 4-6 that made Star Wars great in the first place, but it picked up as the movie went along.
This was obviously pretty much a copy of episode 4, plot wise. Very curious if it continues in this direction and if 7-9 will be essentially structured the same as 4-6, or if we'll have some twists coming in the future.
And yes, seems pretty obvious that Ren is related to Luke and Leia in some way.
