Some bitch ran into me in the Safeway parking lot last night

I was walking with my backpack on and this lady all of a sudden backs up really fast and smashes me with her car pretty damn hard. I got knocked to the ground smacked my head on the pavement. I got up and say, "What the fuck." I pick up my back pack which had my friends $300 bong in it and all I hear is broken glass and there is this big ass shard sticking through the back pack(super sketchy looking).The lady gets out of her car and says, "Oh my god are you ok? I didn't see you, did you walk in the way of my car?" "WHAT? I almost gotten run over, god damn it woman you need to watch out when you are backing up." Some one calls the police and they come and she tries to tell them that I jumped in the way of her car and some other people say thats not the case so she gets angry, and the police tell her to calm down.

The police comes over to me and checks if I am ok and wants to call the ambulance for my head injury, I tell them not to but a fire truck comes to check everything out. Its a big cluster fuck.

I then bring up the fact that some property has been broken. I show the officers my laptop that got smashed and the broken bong with my medical paper work and they say that I will have to bring it up with her, or her insurance. She was refused to pay for it.

I just called her insurance and they are failing to cover the bong. It's $300 and my laptop is covered by insurance thankfully, my friend doesn't have the money to just let $300 go to waste. I have all this woman's information but how can I get her to pay for what she broke?

Was there a police report mentioning damaged property? You might be able to file a claim with your homeowners insurance. You can for sure sue her in small claims court. You can harass her at home and work for the money. Those are your only options.
 
take her to judge mathis to sue her for the bong, then start a small outerwear company

You can take her to small claims court if you the time and effort worth $300 You're probably just gonna have to cut your losses and move on. Sucks man
 
Call her and tell her that your the friend who's bong was broken then tell her that if she doesn't pay the friend that was hit (you) that your gonna break into her house and kill her dog. Or steel her bong.
 
Yeah they wrote it all down so the broken bong is in the police report.

I think I will harass her at work if she still refuses to pay. I will walk into where ever she works and demand for her to pay me for the bong and threaten to sue if she doesn't. Her boss probably wont like me coming in after a few times and will hopefully force her to deal with the situation.

Don't you already have to have that item checked with the home owners insurance before it breaks or gets stollen? I'll also look into that.
 
You don't know what youre talking about. Homeowners policies regularly provide protection for off-premise destruction or theft, which covers your possessions while they are outside your home.
 
Yeah so he can lose money because the cost of a lawyer and court time is DEFINITELY cheaper than the $300 bong.

tell the lady you are going to sue her in small claims court. If it is mentioned in the police report you will definitely win. Chances are that telling her that you are going to sue her in small claims court will result in her paying you outside the court because she doesn't want to go to court. That is what I would do, especially if you have a med card. It is your property, and she is 100% at fault for breaking it... was it protected by any sort of bubble wrap or anything? I'm no lawyer, but you may need to prove that you at least made some minor attempt to keep it safe in that bag.
 
sue her for more than that. He had an injury so he should sue for her to cover all his future medical marijuana expenses from the migranes he now gets from the head injury
 
I do know what I am talking about, and I also know any/all insurance company's will do what ever they can to not pay you, because they lose money. so unless you have the gold stander of HOI they will not cover it.
 
It was wrapped in multiple thick wool scarves so if someone were to accidentally pick up the bag and drop it down hard or if someone were to knock the bag over there would be less of a chance of something bad happening to the bong. We all took really good care of her.
 
He is actually correct. Thinks like this are covered under your homeowners policy. It then comes down to what type of HO policy you have. You would be surprised as to what a HO policy covers.

The way you're flipping shit about the situation shows two things. One: you have zero income. This is clear since you're willing to redirect the little bit of energy you put forth in this world to ruining this woman's life and recouping all (GASP!) $300. And two: the little bit of money you did accrue before being fired from your local 7-11 after showing up high all the time you decided to spend on a $300 BONG! Facepalm. Recently you've spend your days loitering in the safeway parking lot, just hanging out with your computer, medical weed, and antique pipe. It was a matter of time before some innocent shopper would run you over. Natural selection.

And let us know how your little harassment campaign works out. Maybe you would have been fired from your first job at Wendy's if a patron kept showing up and making a scene, but come stand outside my office (or any other legitimate place of employment) and try that. See if you dont end up in the backseat of a cruiser. That probably won't help your case when you take her to court over... (trying not to laugh)... $300.

Had money to spend on a bong at one time, did not anticipate bong being smashed, now has no money to spend on a bong at this time. It's a pretty simple concept.
