Soccer - Eduardo Leg Break - warning

Eduardo da Silva of the British Premier League's Arsenal team got tackled, probably the worst compound fracture I've ever seen in soccer. Taylor of Birmingham City went in with a ferocious studs up tackle.

Warning - not for the faint hearted. Mods - feel free to delete

Fuck all you people who say soccer is a pussy sport. Hope he'll be able to play again.

And I think Larsson's may have been just as bad.

Yes Marc, that is his bone. The sock and some skin/tendons/muscles are pretty much what's holding his foot on. I can't imagine what the surgeons would have to do to get that boot off.

And nobody said anything about soccer being a pussy sport. British soccer is pretty ferocious. Most matches, there's always one person being a target. Nani of Man Utd was being kicked and slammed by Arsenal. Eboue went in studs up right into Nani's pelvic area (just above), and someone kicked his legs out from behind when he didn't have the ball. Stuff like this is gonna happen sooner or later in soccer - Eduardo was guilty of a tackle which could have turned out just as bad - a couple of days ago against Cristiano Ronaldo, only Ronaldo moved his feet so he was only clipped.

I agree, Larsson's was pretty bad. Cisse's had some bad leg breaks too...

Alan Smith of Man. Utd. looks pretty similar:

and Cisse's is pretty damn gnarly -

Soccer is not a pussy sport. It may be in North America, but European soccer is very different.

Eduardo will be lucky to ever play football again.

i think he got a straight red for it. that is brutal though, i hope he'll be able to play again. Wenger is pissed too

I still can't tell whether it was intent or not. It could've been deliberate, it could've just been that Eduardo poked the ball ahead and Taylor was too slow to react/had already committed to the tackle where the ball was - and got his leg. Either way, it's pretty nuts. He was indeed straight redded.

Eduardo was treated with morphine before being stretchered off.

I'm surprised shit like this doesn't happen more in soccer. I thought the same a week ago when Zednik's throat was cut by a skate - only other incident I can remember is Malarhuk, and that was mid-90's.

Nani is a huuuuuuuge douche. Really is a piece of shit. I don't wish

injury upon anyone but that seal dribble was a stupid thing to do, and

he deserved to get wrecked.

Also, British football is pretty extreme; but from watching games in

Spain, Italy, and other similar countries I can't really say the same

about them.

And generally people on these boards hate soccer big time.

Clearly, in the third picture he's yelling at his bones to pop back into place. It's an expression of rage, not pain.

word. That surgery is gonna be nasty. They'll have to knock him out before they can even cut the boot and sock off, shit's nuts all of those look outrageously painful. O and DJdave you a little bit of a man u fan??

soccer is such a bitch sport its unbelieveable.... this is like the first harsh thing thats happened in the whole year or something lol don't even try to make it sound hardcore

watch a rugby game

The guys in these pictures would have had the same reaction if their leg hadnt even been touched. Soccer is still a sport for whiners. Grow up.

Let me premise this by saying that I am a gooner for life. Anyway, the only reason it was a straight red is because of the injury it caused. He shouldn't be banned for life, the rest of the season, etc... only the usual three games a red card usually gets (I think that they should appeal the red, but that will never happen). You can't judge his ban on the pictures, you have to watch the video, if you do you will see there isn't any intent whatsoever, it's just a really clumsy, mistimed challenge. He obviously didn't realize how quick Eduardo was. As was said earlier the only reason that Eduardo broke his leg was because his studs were planted in the ground, if they weren't we would have seen him get up. I'm really sad to see this happen to him, he was soooo young and was working well with Adebayor up front, and now we will have to have fucking Bendtner (whose fucking useless). In conclusion I've seen worse tackles that have gotten yellow cards, it was just a very unfortunate mistake on Taylor's part, and Eduardo payed for it. I am sure Taylor is at a really low place right now, I feel for both parties involved in this mishap.

haha this is definitely true. its good to see somebody actually scream in pain and not get up and run around 2 minutes later. i've seen so many guys fall down acting like their leg was snapped in 2. least i know its a least possible.

that shit is unacceptable and it is the reason i don't like soccer. i like hearing all you fans try to come up with excuses on why they do it though. those are always good for a laugh.

There is no excuse for people who act like this, and people who are making excuses for this behavior are stupid. But contrary to popular belief not every football player rolls around in agony every time they get tackled. Again another example of people stereotyping a whole group based on a minority.

i find it really gay, and i like soccer. it is the one reason i hate watching pros. they are such bitches, they need to fake it to get cards and shit. just play the fucking game, why fall down unless you have to? i hate that.

our highschool team this year lost our semi final playoff game because the team seriously faked every inury and we are a pretty physical team, and needless to say they won with a bitch ass penalty kick. fucking faggots.

Wrong. Has more skill than any of Chelsea's shit put together. United will fuck chelsea over in the champions league final no problem. Viva Ronaldooo!!!!!
